    My English is not perfect but I'm still working on it. I started learning English 5 years ago consciously because I thought and said in my mind: English is the most important language in the world, therefore everyone on Earth 🌎 learns the English language. On the other hand, I love learning English by watching these kind of videos about it, reading so many Internet articles about any topic of my interest in English and using a few English learning apps to keep developing my English skills. I never listen to podcasts, hardly ever watch movies or TV series with English subtitles or without them. Well, that's my point of view because I always use entertaining and suitable materials and methods such as those already mentioned to learning and improving my English knowledge and skills.

    • @franciscom.d.459
      @franciscom.d.459 11 місяців тому +2

      @@CanalSDR dar de alta means to suscribe something like a electricity contract or netflix, or even a youtube channel. Pendiente means slope and subida depends on context, subida a una montaña is to climb a mountain, subida de precios, de salario, etc means price increase, salary, etc..
      I hope I've helped you.
      Best regards from Madrid

    I am a native English speaker on a journey of learning Italian and Spanish. These are great tips and reminders for me. I also realized that Babbel, the app I've been using to learn languages, does much of this already: using words on sentences, repetition reviews, listening to native speakers, shadowing, habit tracking tools.
    By the way, your English sounds great. There were very few indicators that you are not a native speaker. I might not have even picked up on them had I not already known.

    I teach English here in Brazil, and people here are programmed to think it's difficult.
    I recommend the music practice to learn to pronounce correctly, always making clear that different people can speak different the same word. It's normal. Then I add the context, so they don't have to force memorization of the words. The context will show the probable meaning. Songs like "easy lover" or "another day in paradise" help to build vocabulary!
    Finally, I ask people to relax, even if they speak wrong cause, like a child, with time, they'll polite their pronounce naturally and speak correctly.
    Same thing with prepositions. With time we understand what goes where... to decor rules is a big trap, in my opinion. Listen a lot, read a lot, shows, naturally, the structure of the language.
    The bigger problem I face is people are set to think English is difficult.

    So the things I do: speaking with my family in english even though I know they get annoyed by it and want me to stop and speak in my native language. I still continue to brush those thoughts aside (in my head cz they dont say it outloud). It's actually really weird that speakers of my language will use tons of English words but like yknow without any context like just throwing in words and call that English. So I'm breaking away from that habit. Its exhausting and even painful. I dream to have friends who are from different continents and we have a common language between us ; English. I wanna move away from the country I live in and live somewhere else. I love english, I even prefer it over my native language. My brain just freezes when I have to speak in english and I notice I cannot speak well and I know anxiety plays a big part in making me sound incoherent. Anyways, I take it as an opportunity, I'm young, I'll have lots of friends one day and soon all the struggles will be worth it. Speaking is the hardest part. I dont like the sound of my own voice so yeah I dont record my self often. I have started sending voice notes (in english) and that kinda helps.
