Both were top performers, they had fantastic singing voices. Beyond their singing talent, both could also express their physical emotions in front of a camera. This recording is very emotional. Right now, no one can come close to their vocal range. They just sang this on stage, but this performance could have been recorded right away. One of the very best duets of all time.
I know some of these songs but since I was a kid , I never paid much attention to this singer. Her voice is a new discovery for me and I quite easily fell in love with her personality in the clips. What a lovely singer!
She truly was one of a kind! Astonishingly beautiful woman, and incredibly sexy without being slutty in the slightest. Props to Bobby for keeping it together (mostly).
In the '70s, when I was two or three years old, I was listening to Freda Payne's song Band of Gold! Immediately I fell in love with the song! God has kept her young and beautiful all these years, she is so blessed by Heaven!
This was kind of daring for back then the interracial and the way they practically kissed they did a great job with the song but I bet bobby Darren's show got a lot of hate mail he probably didn't care he was for civil rights and had black friends
No I think things weren’t as bad as the 60s and beyond were. But this was very daring. I think Bobby died not too long after this performance for he had a bad heart.
@@kinkystreets4709 he did NOT have a cocaine problem! Get that right out of your mind. He had a very bad heart since childhood...do your research before you text.really...
Bobby got very close to the ladies in all of these types of duets, but I remember in his duet with Stevie Wonder (if I was a carpenter) he did not get as close. It wasn't too far apart, just not as close as he was to these ladies
As much as the singing especially by Freda is brilliant...Bobby Darin comes across as a creep! He would do this close up mouth to mouth duet with every pretty female singer he had on his show! I think the women must of found it very uncomfortable. You can see how he is leaning in to Freda and she is trying to back away! I can only imagine how he must of tried to hit on these women with his influence. It ruins the song and comes across as very unnecessary and creepy!
Smoldering chemistry. . . oh my! Ms. Payne is adorable!
Where in the Hell have I been all of these year's? Oh my God, she is an Angel!

Bobby looks like he fell in love!, and who could blame him, Freda is GORGEOUS!!!!! You can tell that Freda had this man on FIRE!!!!
Bobby already was in love.
@@LuisCarvajalfermandez Bobby was likely divorced when this was filmed…
Or fell in lust ;) Understandable. His stare at the beginning though? Bordering on stalker / creepy.
He does the same with Petula Clark and oh darn! I've forgotten her name, but there's a third wonderful duet out there, too!
I know some of these songs but since I was a kid , I never paid much attention to this singer. Her voice is a new discovery for me and I quite easily fell in love with her personality in the clips. What a lovely singer!
Bobby was dying of heart failure, what a Hero!!
I'd be so flustered staring at Freda that closely.
I love Freda, she's over 80 now I guess. All that she left me was a band of gold.
Fabulous duet.
Freda is smokin’ hot !
"Band of Gold,"I always loved that song!
What a babe Freda was. For a minute there, I thought Bobby Darin was going to eat her up!
He's looking at her like she's the last pork chop on the platter, and he's late for dinner!
@@seriousone8030 Definitely!

@sakaridis what do you mean was? She's still living.
Bobby Darin the voice 50 and 60 King 👏🎤🎹🎸🕴🎙🎤🎼🎶🎵🎵💞🙏
What an unlikely pair. But wow, the chemistry is pretty undeniable.
Bobby Darin is a close talker it seems.
Wow very good rendition and sultry as hell.
Wow, how beutiful is Freda Payne, I'd mesmerised if i was as Bobby was loking in that gorgeous face ❤❤
It’s beautiful with an a do you know how to spell?
I'd have been melting if I'f been Freda with Bobby looking at me!

Freda sounds great
This is gorgeous! I have not seen this, excellent……yes, Bobby looks as if he fell in love with Freda.
Hope they have breath mints
I graduated from high school in 1973 and I had never seen or heard this before.
Eight months and one week later Bobby Darin would pass away.
She could easily be blamed for it. Too too much
This is the best version of this song
Perfect!!!
It's suddenly hot in here.
This was kind of daring for back then the interracial and the way they practically kissed they did a great job with the song but I bet bobby Darren's show got a lot of hate mail he probably didn't care he was for civil rights and had black friends
No amount of racism can overcome the universal consensus of her beauty. You really think beautiful slaves didn't get raped by their masters?

She is quarter black at best.
@@janetwilhelm4435 I had no idea that he had a very bad heart since his childhood
I do not know what month this was filmed, but he was gone by the end of 1973. Thank you, Freda, for the Share.
Fantastic !!
This is rather good.
I always like this song but had never seen this performance. I also never saw singers sing into one another's mouth before!
Nice video with the both of them!
Beautiful song and video it’s breathtaking 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
he was the best every singer of that time tryed to be him .
‘Mercy…😍
Wowzah🔥💖💣💯
Wow!
Wooooo that was steamyyy love it
Lustrous and compulsion. Thanks for showing this ,friend.
Invading each others space can be fun… 🤓😍
🎶🎶Looking for Sinatra!🎶🎶Bobby Darin!🎶🎶Almost!
better!
Ooh chile, sizzle!!
This is the 3rd Bobby Darin duet that he is basically in the woman's face. Was this a thing for him?
Bobby Darin 's Mack the knife , my favourite ,, best rendition ever for me x
I'm looking for a rare duet between Bobby Darin and Bobby Gentry. They are sitting right across from each other just like this. Can anyone help me?
It was on UA-cam. Appears to have been taken down

lucky man
wow
God, I love these two so much. And honestly, if this man looked at me the way he is looking at Frida in this video. I would die. 🫠
Ooooh my! Me too!
VERY NICE🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵
Jeeze, sizzling 🥵
Smoking hot duet.
And Ending.
It's so tragic he was dying of heart disease and had to suck on oxygen to continue singing before he died at 37...
Bobby Darin was hard on the eyes. Good for Freda for toughing it out.
To each his own. I thought he had charisma and was handsome.
@@Goldenowl66 He had charisma for sure. I looked up younger photos of him to see if they did more justice but like you said to each his own.
Should listen to Jimmy Barnes singing this song
Nice, but no one can top Marvin and Tami

Freda is adorable. Nice attempt at restructuring the song, but, it’s just ok.
They're no Marvin and Tammi
She reminds me of Zendaya.

You are pretty provincial....
Yeah. I found it hard to watch at the very end. Freda seemed a bit uncomfortable.
He’s very creepy just staring
Nice singing but creepy presentation.
Yep. Ol Bobby being creepy!
he is a slimeball!!!
He really is. I thought they must've rehearsed this. She's going along but he's acting like an attacker!
