which is why I'm so surprised he was able to still be retained by espn. Nowadays, the ones that talk the loudest and craziest get the most airtime. It's still fairly true but he's one of the only people with sense on a sports network.

@@reno419rockstarExcept that's not what he said at all, I'm not sure if you misheard him or you're making stuff up but he said that what Jimmy Butler did was "an elite level closeout" not that closing out was "Elite defense" as you're claiming.

I just can't see Miami beating this Denver team even if they have been impressive so far in the playoffs. The Nuggets have the most talent, the most depth and the best player in the league but the biggest advantage they have that people are taking very lightly is the altitude. This is why Denver has the ultimate home court advantage and has the best home record in NBA history. The altitude is no joke. Even if it goes 7 games, I can't see Miami winning in Denver with the lack of depth. I seriously doubt Jimmy Butler will play 42+ minutes every away game. He's going to die of suffocation.

Jokic averaged more rebounds and assists than Embiid. He had a higher FG %. He doesn’t have a top 75 player of all time. He makes his teammates better. He’s a better passer with a higher IQ and more versatile. Oh and he was #1 seed since December. But, let’s give it to Embiid because he averaged a few more points and we don’t want Jokic to have 3 in a row. All the voters should be ashamed. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Miami is not deep enough or long enough to contend for the whole series. If the offensive wheels come off for Miami during long stretches of the game, Denver will smoke them. That's the real danger. Competing hard but losing focus for even just a few minutes can cost you big against a team like Denver. They mentally wear teams out with their simple complexity. Analysis is on point. Basketball is about being quick, not fast. And that starts with the brain first. Basketball is a game of rapid fire decisions and nobody does it like the Joker.

While Legler's analysis is- as always - spot on, the defensive examples he uses equally show how tight and poorly the Celtics played overall, for various reasons. The first play results in a missed point blank put back (that defense gives up the crashing wing) by Brown, and the second is a pretty makable shot should Tatum have his normal elevation.
