    i'm old enough that i might actually have had that set, 1983 i was 8. definitely had a BR hst with some random editions like a car trailer thing. ive n ot had a train set since then but interested in buying a hornby TT120 set.

    She sounds like she may need a little grease on her axle gears . Maybe even to have the commutator on the motor polished as well as the metal wheels that pick up power. That should vastly improve operation .

    That is such a cool set - especially with it being an old one! Definitely needs some extra carriages but overall it's great, I'm sure the motor will get a bit better the more you use it, if not you can easily buy new motors, not too sure on the prices of them though.

      I totally agree! Even this this set is not the one i ordered, but rather i found this in my attic its a beeeautuful set from the 80s

    For its age it looks really well looked after to be fair. A great present man
