Lance Storm, at one point in WCW, held the US, Hardcore and Cruiserweight Titles, renaming them with Canadian themes US Title - Canadian Title Hardcore - Saskatchewan Hardcore International Title Cruiserweight Title - 100kgs And Under Title
The 90s WCW US is my favorite version. It’s hard not to see the similarities with the WWF IC of the time but that’s another goated title. 2nd favorite surprisingly is the current version. Only criticism is the giant Champion lettering and not having blue behind the stars instead of silver.
The US title has been around since 1975. The inaugural champion was Harley Race. It was held in 3 different wrestling organizations NWA, WCW and WWE. Great wrestlers held this great title, John Cena, Lex Luger, Dusty Rhodes, Magnum TA, Sting, Booker T, Chris Benoit, Rick Rude, Stunning Steve Austin, Bret Hart, Eddie Guerrero and Ric Flair.
My favourite US championship design is the 2003-2020 design. It was the design I grew up admiring. Another is the the NWA late 80s US championship design and the WCW US championship design
The NWA United States title is one of the best belts ever made. I love bothe the NWA and WCW U.S title belts. It just shows such prestigious look to the belt.
That 86-91 US title is incredible, personal favorite of mine. Would like to see a modern spin on it one of these days. As for the WCW US titles, I like the size of the JMarr version yet prefer the details of the Reggie version.
Thank you bud for all this info on thease belts. Thank you for takeing your time investigateing. I am a collector of belts and this vidio gave me some more to look forward to add to my collection. Thanks
Fun fact: Sting is the only man to win both his US titles via a tournament. The 1st happened at the Omni on 8/25/91. He defeated stunning( stone cold) Steve Austin in Atlanta's Omni. The other occurred on 6/18/95 at the Great American Bash ppv. He defeated Meng(Haku) at the Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio.
Fun fact: The original U.S title had the same design of all of the versions, but without the closest side plates to the snaps. Instead, they replaced those eagle side plates with two rectangular plates with a colorful flag representing red, white, and blue (similar style to the french flag but red white and blue instead of blue white and red.) I'm pretty sure that held up from 1975 to 1977.
I honestly hate the current design. It looks like some kind of Power Ranger mechazord chest plate or something. I definitely prefer the previous design over all the rest.
I was always a fan of the name plates lol. the custom side plates doesn’t make belt feel like an actual championship title like the way it did in the ruthless aggression era
I love your channel you do excellent videos and I know you’re calling the front played a name plate, but isn’t the right term for a face plate ? 🇺🇸☘️🤘🏻⚡️⚡️
Love the video, and the history of the U.S. Championship. On a different topic though, when are you going to do another giveaway @WickBelts ? I'm just being curious here... 😉
There is a problem with your video. The WCW United States Championship was merged with the Intercontinental after the WCW/ECW invasion failure. So, the current United States Championship does NOT have the lineage of the WCW. Yes, they made/ introduced another championship and called it the United States Championship.
What history NWA and WCW the title was respected in WWE its just another belt to win another great title ruined by WWE just look at the list of champions at one point in WWE and say WHAT THE FUCK HAPPEN other than Cena and Carlito the spinning title was made for Cena just look at the design s let's you know wasn't a serious WWE title NWA and WCW made it a title worth winning no wrestler's sit on titles as much as WWE wrestlers
Yeah, the first WCW U.S. Championship is one of my favourite!
u mean the AEW American Championship?
Lance Storm, at one point in WCW, held the US, Hardcore and Cruiserweight Titles, renaming them with Canadian themes
US Title - Canadian Title
Hardcore - Saskatchewan Hardcore International Title
Cruiserweight Title - 100kgs And Under Title
Note the acronym on the Hardcore Rename. As I understand, Storm was *not* a fan of the Hardcore title...

The new one should have blue behind the stars
8:55 WCW couldn’t even get the layout of the stars on the U.S. flag right. It should be five rows of 6 stars alternating with four rows of 5 stars.

I absolutely love the new thick US title. My profile picture 😮
Can’t wait for this United States Championship History plus I hope this comment is successful.
It is

There has been a good amount of beautiful looking United States Championships
Storm had the Saskatchewan international hardcore championship and the 100 Kilos and Under and Canadian championship
I need an Every Version of the Big Gold Belt/World Heavyweight Championship.
Maybe that one will be next!
@@WickBelts Awesome!
All WWE has to to is add blue behind those stars and it'll be a near perfect US title design.👌🏼
Around 2017 they also changed the US title to Silver plated fo brief period when Bafon Corbin win but they quickly reverted back to gold plates.

They Are All Nice Titles.
Can you make the History of Tag title please ?

All were beautiful deisgns. Loved them. Please a Njpw Iwgp title design history video aa well IC title design history too.
The four plate WCW version is goat. Waiting for wwe to release a replica
good video

WCW had the best looking one
Love the video, and the history of the U.S. Championship. On a different topic though, when are you going to do another giveaway @WickBelts ? I'm just being curious here... 😉
yes plan on doing one for the new undisputed in the future
United States Champion are Sting, Steve Austin, Rick Rude, Dustin Rhodes, Lex Luger.
What's the theme you used in the background its so catchy
Anno Domini Beats Remember
Now we need the tag team champions or women's champions or other wresting brands champions
The Eddie Guerrero title is my #1.
i prefer the WWF WCW logo than the final WCW WCW logo
It always confused me on how WWE continues the NWA /WCW US title lineage when they had their Own US title they could have brought back.
Lance Storm renamed the Hardcore title to Saskatchewan Heavyweight International Title. Hilarious.
The problem with the newest US title is the "UNITED STATES CHAMPION" wording is too chuncky
Was the Canadian championship not just the INTERCONTINENTAL belt just with canadi stickers????
The tithe became a joke in wwe , in the nwa it was a prized title and number 1 contender
Are you technically a grand slam champion?
WCW and nwa
There is a problem with your video. The WCW United States Championship was merged with the Intercontinental after the WCW/ECW invasion failure. According to wwe it has the same lineage
Lance Storm was disrespectful putting a sticker of the canada flag onto the united states championship. that canadian punk. hope he reads this
ECW world championship
John Cena is greatest United States Champion in WWE History!
LUGER
Said wwe not wwe inc lol, sting, Austin and rude were better
Aww, don’t hinder Jinder. 😂

I think MVP has the honor of being the only wrestler to not win a championship belt he introduced.
