3/8 stubby is used like every day!
It's the tip if my spear for all of my car work
Love mine! Also love the mid torque
I tore down my first V8 engine on a stand with one. Such a breeze
Oh yeah! Love my m12 tools
air tools are where its at for the shop
Tore it down? You destroyed the engine with it? 😅
I guess you mean taken apart. Tore down just sounds hefty 😅
@@Ambrose4kair tools suck
Didnt think the m12 batteries were that strong, not bad!
If my stubby can’t get it, I step it up to the mid torque….🔥💯
And if *_that_* can't get it...
No shit… same with every brand
@@madmax82988 then big boy it is🔥😂😂
@@madmax82988you pull out the M18 high torque 1/2 impact wrench with a 12amp battery
I just go straight to the big boi😂
I was in the M12 gang but then got jumped into the M18 one no regret.
Bruh! I love my m12 so small and perfect for tight areas in cars.
I got a kit with both, M18 is for more power, M12 is for tightness.
baseline m18 brushed bottom of the line cheapest you can get will beat the m12 fuel any day of the week. For blue collar workers it’s a no brainer they are not that much different in size. And they aren’t that much heavier if you’re that weak you can’t carry around an m18 all day you don’t need to be playing with tools…
@Jacksonk628 I love the suggestion. Thank you! It shows you have potentially tried both. For me, M12 is perfect for mechanic work its all about how they fit in tight areas in engine compartmentas including the battery. M12 has also created tools specific for mechanic work. Now for ultimatums like "if you can't carry a tool all day you shouldn't play with them" I ask you to please consider there are veterans missing limbs, older ones who can't carry a tool all day but in the few hours of energy they got they like to build cars, decks, do plumbing. While unable to carry tools all day, they are still doing amazing things.
Regret IS coming in the fall.....
My m12 stubby does everything I expect and need it to. Like you said I don't have to defend it, it gets the job done!
Soon they will make a FORGE BATTERY for the M12 FUEL LINE
Cant wait!
I love that 😂 “ next time just laughs at the joke.”
Knocked out my brake job super fast with this little guy, I just put like a u-joint on it and the shallow socket and works great for all the caliper bracket bolts and stuff. Quick little guy. Not much rest where I'm at though so, you know, definitely makes a difference.
This little impact is a beast
They just announced a new 3/8 stubby with tri LED rated at 550 ft lbs! can't wait to get one.
@@Nick78111 me too!
Almost here woohoo
M12 3/8 for light engine work, trimming, interior, some suspension work. M18 1/2 mid for all my general use. High torque for cradles, mounts, stuck on bolts and lug nuts. Air tool and long johnson bar when they all fail.
I rarely pull my 18v stuff out anymore and I dont use air.
I love my m12 impact for my race car, we can do tire changes off-road in about two and a half minutes from my co pilot leaving his seat to being back buckled up and spinning the tires again
My hyper tough does same thing been going strong for a minute I'm sure it don't last as long as Milwaukee but hey I've been using it for over 2 years now
That's great to hear. Milwaukee continues to innovate, and that's really what I like about them. Hypertough while under the TTI umbrella is missing a few tools I need.
When I go on road trips I throw this in the trunk. I got a flat once and replaced the tire with ease.
I love my 3/8!!! They’re pretty nice!!
It's cool but I much rather my the same in 1/2 as it keeps my socket set count lower.
Bro already broke them loose 😂😂
i love my m12 wrench. i know lug nuts arent really its MO but it does them with a little bit of effort on my f250 and fits almost anywhere I need it to so I cant complain
If you want to overcome any lug nut you have to step up your game to the M18 1/2” impact with 330ft lbs torque.
In the original video which was a joke I showed how I pull out my 18v LXT Makita monster and it did excellent.... but many lost their minds
So the m18 1/2 inch impact has 1,600 ft lbs of torque
The 3/8 inch actually performs better than the 1/2 inch
If I'm gonna buy one impact it'll be the mid torque. One rusted bolt and you're back to the breaker bar... makes no sense
Would be over 450 ft lbs because that actually takes off nuts torqued to 450
the fact you didn't go in a star pattern just sent my anxiety levels into space
That tightening sequence is primarily for installation my guy
Seeing this video and reading the comments, I guess people use their stubby differently to me. My stubby doesn’t often see anything larger than a 14mm socket. Anything bigger and I use my larger gun.
That one works best with the high output battery
This last weekend, i used that exact tool on Ford f350 super duty Wheels. It did an awesome job
Right on! I dont know where all these people came from making excuses about this small impact it has a lot of power
M12 is a awesome platform for sure. My favorite.
It has earned a top tier name and as someone who is coming from the Makita gang I cannot deny how much I love the m12 tools
Mine definitely struggles on pickup and trailer tires
I used this stubby for changing wheels at drift championship and round by round … the only thing that failed was the socket :))
Liked the video and subscribed. Don't let us down big dawg.💪💪💪
@anthonycockerham7180 Thanks! I'm not sure how I would let you down, but I'll try not to. I use my m12 for all my mechanic work, and in all my repair videos, they are very visible doing the majority of the hard work.
And that's only the 4.0AH battery too.
The new m12 one has 550 lbs. I pre-ordered mine yesterday haha
Society don't even know what jokes are these days
Wait so this little guy can take off wheel nuts? 😮
@972958 easily and it's awesome 👌
It’s a low to mid range impact, if you want wrist breaking tork get the 2767.
He called the impact a wrench and the screw a nail 😂 I have the same Milwaukee 1/2” and it takes off wheel on full sized trucks and I’ve never had a problem with it
@russellclements9133 🤣😂 You are trying so hard! Kudos for trying. All you have shown is 1, you didn't read. The title says it all, brother. 2, you have no clue what an impact wrench is. Google is your friend, mate!
That's why you work on your own car coz the tire shop mechanics don't care to properly torque the lug nuts to specs. 😂
idk if you're joking, but he cranked it WAYY past normal torque for the video, going that high, he probably did it on his own car, in case if the studs snapped
Try 300+ ft/lb on a 78 ft/lb factory spec aluminum rim by some " who cares" technician.
In their head, " Not my."
The damn gen 2 has 500ft lbs of breakaway and I can’t wait.
I think the new M12 impact is rated to 550ft/lbs .... Crazy for a 12v tool.
Next gen comes out 9/2/24 550ft lbs nut busting torque same size impact
I heard this and boy am I excited! I will definitely be buying one.
I use the 5.0 high output on mine never had issues
I love my 3/8th stubby. I also have a high torque.
it hurts, we are fan boys😂
Hey, if we can't laugh at ourselves from time to time, something is wrong. Always be willing to not take one's self so seriously and laugh.
250 Lbft destroyed that stud for a youtube short.....RIP.
Hahaha! The best thing is, I did not tighten the lugs for a video, as you may have implied. The customer brought it with every lug like this after having work done at a shop. When shops do work like this, they gift me customers.
@@edtheoldtechguy I had a customer come in. Other shop had done his tires, he had a hard time driving lots of noise, shaking. I jacked up his wheel, 4 of 5 lugnuts had sheared the studs right in half while driving and the last stud was about to come off. Decided to just get the hub at that point since it needed to come off to gave clearance to put new studs in and he needed a bearing as well since play started.
Good times.
I used one for ford lug nuts for years I mean obviously it’s not the most powerful impact ever made but you can fit it into your pocket
100% TRUTH
The new 550ft lb m12 stubby coming out in September if you all haven’t heard and want more power.
Gotta have the right tool for the job
M12 stubby needs the 6.0 battery for maximum output torque test channel proved it aswell i can immediately feel it aswell
Awww cute, you believed the manufacturer’s torque specifications 😂
Even if it were at half the claimed torque at 140ft-lbs It still should have done it. The previous shop tightend with air and lots of rust on top of it
Wait this M12 stubby impact comes also in a 1/2 in.?!? I currently own the 3/8 in. version right now and I thought the 1/2 in. didn’t exist!
100% it does, and getting it in 1/2 inch makes sense, so you don't have to buy more sets of impact sockets. It's been a life saver.
thats a weighted socket
@iq5992 Sorry but it's not it's a regular impact socket
He didn’t remove them zig zag …
Them micro impacts are pretty slick. Good for most things. But if you're using it alot, like I was tearing down industrial braking units, they really chew through batteries and like to overheat
Good info but I bet you used it more than I do. I have a side gig working on cars that is seasonal and fun.
@@edtheoldtechguy for cars you either need something real compact or it needs to be like a 1/2 high torque for u bolts and the like. Building pole barns now, everything needs the 18v.
Converted my 1/2 in to 3/8 cause it does even more work with smaller sockets. I rarely use my 1/2 sockets now and if i do it means i need to bring out the mid torque. My mid torque gets no use. My m18 batteries are sitting useless cause m12 has been good for most of my use cases.
100% So many saying "m18" are just repeating comments and have not used the m12 series to see how awesome it can be.
For those who have never tried m12 fuel line ups what yall waiting for. They lightweight and pack a hefty punch. ❤
They are excellent!
I have an M12 and a M18 so I know what they can do. I usually grab the m18 for wheels but the m12 certainly doesn’t have a difficult time with properly installed car wheels.
💯!!! Winner winner chicken dinner you know your stuff. If they were properly installed these lugs should have come right off with the m12
HF hurcules 1/2" 550ftlbs @$100 w/5ah+charger can't be beat. Torque test channel proved it. Barley beat new red but 1/3 cheaper. 5yr swap in store warranty can't go wrong. Go blue!
The children needed the explanation 😂
and they still dropping comments
I think the new one they just released at pipline has over 500 ft lbs
New ring shanked nails getting aggressive
Wtf 250 you tripping 350 for a ad30 cat
I regretted buying my 3/8 stubby when I couldn’t get my Subaru lug nuts off without any adaptor in 20 degree weather with a 2.0 fully charged. I had recently torqued them to 100ftlbs with antisoeze on the studs. Wish I bought the mid torque.
I have the 2555-20 which has a 1/2 anvil and it takes off most lug nuts without any problem. Only when people use air do I have issues.I also have issues if the vehicle is a large truck
2.0 battery will struggle to deliver good beans and then cold weather on top of that... Get the 4.0 or 6.0, they are worth it.
@RoastedHVAC A 4.0 is what is being used in the video and I have 6.0s. They are great. I stopped doing car work in the cold so batteries are babied by me. They are stored inside my home.
@@edtheoldtechguy I do have a 4.0, it was able to take the lugs off in warmer weather when fully charged. Still wish I had a mid torque for larger nuts and the stubby for small ones, but my m12 ratchet does well on small stuff also.
@@snakehead5444 The anti-seize may have been part of your issue; there's a good chance your lugs were actually over torqued. It's been known in engineering circles for a long time, but not so well understood in the auto industry, that anti-seize changes the friction characteristics of the fastener and can cause you to go way over torque. Torque Test Channel had a great demonstration of this in a recent video testing torque wrenches and found that the actual torque applied to the fastener could be nearly _double_ what the torque wrench reading is when anti-seize is used.
That said, I have both the 3/8 stubby (which I LOVE) and the 1/2 mid torque and definitely prefer the mid torque for lugs. Power tools in general are much more comfortable and consistent when used well below their limits in my experience.
I'm getting an M18 impact wrench.
Enjoy!
Just got the new 1/2 Pin DETENT GEN 2 on order from OHIO POWER TOOLS 550 NB
"It never needed you to come to its defense" its a milwaukee of course
I like my porter cable impact
Only electric impact i see use good use of is the m12 stubby! and i have had success loosening m10-m12 loctited and rusty caliper bolts and normal torqued wheel lugs with no problem and it can do fine work such as interiors. For heavier applications IR titanium
no tires are torqued to 250 ft lbs. my trucks are like 150. maybe semi's but they just use torque conveters
i obviously cant listen or take a joke
Hahahaha!
250ft lbs is WAY too much torque for an aluminum passenger car or even a 3/4 ton 8 lug aluminum wheel. Aluminum wheels should be torqued to 80 - 103 ft lbs on aluminum wheels. This is the average range. Maximum is 175 ft lbs. Under NO circumstances should a wheel lug nut be tightened beyond 180 ft lbs on ANY light truck, SUV, passenger car, sports car, muscle car, etc. So 250 ft lbs is way too tight and would likely be causing issues with ride quality and exceed the metallurgical limits of the involved components. 😂 In short. Use an impact to remove ONLY. Always use a torque wrench and tighten lug nuts to SPEC. Then recheck after you have driven it a bit before you leave it alone.
I 100% agree
if you use "3" its not in full power
my studdy is one of the best M12
I Have that gun.
M12. Awesome tool.
It's Milwaukee or nothing.
I agree with it being awesome but you can own more than Milwaukee, there are many good brands that make some specific tools better than Milwaukee. Over all though Milwaukee is not a bad choice.
The real joke is when it stops working and you have to throw it away because it costs 100 Dollars for a switch. Other brands might not be as good, but they are repairable and not a throw-away item.
I got that 1/2 on me too fymm
My m18 high torque pulls semi truck lugs off 😊
Yeah but this way you get twice the video output, so people not getting the joke works for you
Bruh, I mean this is social media right? Half my job is to try to get eye balls on my media. Honestly though it was an innocent joke I had no clue it would work out this way.
Nicely planted screw 😂 probably the torque on them screws too. Milwaukee is good though
It was not planted, every bolt on this Ford Fusion was like this. Some yahoo at pep boys loves his air tools more than he likes customers cars. This m12 impact does 90% of the work I need and required no excuses from some of the commentors. We just ran into an over tight lug nut and made a funny joke of it. Never thought it would make everyone crazy 😆 🤣 😂
@@edtheoldtechguyI hate that. Had to replace a whole set of lugs and a couple studs when a Goodyear shop did that to my pickup. Measured one At almost 500 ft lbs.
I do it every day, they take lugs off of f250s
Absolutely right unless, of course, they have been over tightened as happend here.
What brand impact sockets do you use?
I have some snappys gearwrench, icon and harbor freight.
@@edtheoldtechguy same as me 🤣. I have almost all brands
I just got the gen 2 m18 mid torque 1/2 now I see they got the new m12 stubby with 550ft lb ffs. At least this one is 100ft lb stronger but still it’s bigger idkkkkk
I love people getting mad about tools on the internet
😆 🤣 😂 😹
The new stubby m12 has 550 torque
No one realize that u were tightening the lug nut in the first video?
We were not tightining we tried it on all the lugs it wouldnt work on any of the lugs on that car. We have witnesses LOL.

It’s 12V what do you expect??? Get an M18 it’s crazy
*star pattern
@adamjohnson1543 hahaha! for a demo? I think your OCD is getting the better of you. Let's be honest most shops don't use torque wrenches, let alone install and remove wheels in a star pattern. I was just showing that it could take off the lugs, but thanks man, I'll take your comment under advisement.
I thought that video was funny . When you brought out the Mikita mid torque . Yeah that’s gonna ruffle feathers. It is a great impact for the size. Use the crap out of it
😆 🤣 😂
There's a new stubby and it would have definitely removed the 250ftlbs nuts
@ryanle1293 Maybe my videos helped let them know we want more power in some way 😆 🤣 😂
@@edtheoldtechguy oh I didn't mean that, I'm just pointing out there's a new M12 stubby that literally has double the torque than the model you were using in the video. It would have been able to get the tighter lugs right off its awesome
So you intentionally stretch the stud by over tightening it for a video
LOL!! Its crazy you think I did this for a video. This is a customers car that came in with the lugs overtightend from a shop who loves their air tools.
@@edtheoldtechguy Ahhh thank you for clearing that up
The new stubby is 500ft pound
I like the m12 stubby it’s definitely easier on my wrists during a long work day.
I was going to say my M12 is strong but my M18 will snap post in a tenth of a second. Good one though. Keep trolling. brings all the haters to the light. And it’s great to bring attention to “how sensitive people are! lol
When you explain a joke it’s no longer funny.
Lug nuts were not torqued at 250 don’t be ridiculous bro💀
250# torque way over spec on that lug nut.
True! That's what happens sometimes when some shops use air and don't use torque sticks or wrench to verify.
It's those" who cares " technicians.

This impact isn't meant for wheel nuts
This impact wrench is rated at 250ftlbs working on lug nuts that should be on at 80ftlbs, and mind you I use it all the time on lug nuts for small to medium cars. With no issue unless of course the bolts are tightend by some yahoo with air beyond the capability of this impact. Are you saying that Milwaukee makes this tool for specific jobs and not for the ftlbs printed in its capabilities? Are all the mechanics using this exactly the way I'm using it wrong?
It sure is
@markk3948 100% is and you know it brother. It needs no excuses, people couldn't just laugh at the joke 🤣 😂
@edtheoldtechguy yeah very powerful for such a small 12v tool. It actually takes nuts off torqued to 450 ft-lbs @ shoptoolreviews
Honestly surprised it didn’t pull it off them things are stout
Still missed the part where anyone was supposed to be able to pick up on the part where you were joking. Literal zero sarcasm in your voice.
Literally in the title and description and my buddy using the impact was being silly saying you Milwaukee guys don't have no juice... isn't that sarcasm... and like a clown pulls up the biggest impact against the smallest I have ....bruh
