The rolling shutter distortion adds to the beauty of the spinning cube imo, it would be good to see it through a mechanical shutter but that'll mean a big bucks camera!
Distortion because of the Rolling Shutter effect Changing direction because of the Wagon Wheel Slowing down because of the Friction effect Falling down because of the Gravity effect LULZ...
We used to do this as kids all the time, takes some practice to make them spin on first try. The standard plastic cubes were only spinning for like 30 seconds, they were too light.
Yeah, as a D&D playing kid in the 80s, one of the things you'd do while waiting to make your saving throw or whatever was practice spinning all the Platonic Solids dice. The tetrahedron, (D4) was always the hardest, but certainly doable.

I love how clean your work is. Close to perfection... very nice.
Kind regards,

@@gstein123 you’re joking right?
very nice, really like the rolling shutter distortion, I used to spend hours in meditation with various spinning die and a variable led strobe
Amazing as your other projects. Thank you for posting and greetings from Spain.
would be cool to make another brass cube and turn them into dice.
Could be complicated to keep them balanced by adjusting the depth of the divots
Great Idea!

I love your videos...
nice work man! cheers Nathan
So what's the base on which your spinng the cubes? Set of curved magnets yes?
Tracy Poling Nope, just a magnifying mirror.
Next task, the stereotypical diamond shape. lol
btw if these cubes are an original idea, I fricken love it! I would buy these over any top.
Shit, don't mean to spam you now, but literally just posted this a second before you showed the "commercial" one....
the wavey effect is because when the shutters go down it reaches the top first then when it gets to the bottom the spinner is in a different position
Where can I buy one of these?
Where would I be able to purchase this?
How did you actually get it to spin at that rpm?
I want to do this, amazing.
Can i buy it on Amazon or other web???
Welp. Back to the garage I go.
cheers
