Hope you get better soon rek! Pneumonia can hit quite randomly with some people but hopefully it sorts itself out and no major medical necessities are needed. Realistically if you don't smoke or anything then the air gap should go away on its own.
High white cell counts are a sign of inflammation and usually used for screening/monitoring infection (eg. Pneumonia). It can be one of the things doctors might use to help diagnose some cancers like leukemia. Glad you’re feeling better!
