iPhone for me! I think every one of your blind tests has had iPhone winning for me. I just prefer its processing in most cases… which is great because I prefer most everything else about it too! Gotta get some real zoom on that iPhone tho… a lot more ppl would pick it I think. Here’s hoping for 6-10x optical zoom on iPhone 15 Pro!
Every once in while they should put the same image on left and right and then let them decide if the left is better or right. That would be an astonishing result
It’s great when Apple has to compete with others instead of just getting exclusive access to a new tech and using that to differentiate. The iPhone camera no longer justifies the price of the top of the line model. They’ll have to go all in and make their phone cameras be as good as real cameras, not just make them better than other phone cams.
people claiming about too much contrast of samsung phones in the past...now they correct it and make it incredibly real. Same people when apple implement a saturated and unnatural contrast: "wooow its amazing that contrast on the iphone"
1. I got 14 for the S21 Ultra and 14 for the 12 Pro Max. In the beginning it was 8 for the Ultra 3 for the Pro Max but then the iPhone caught up. 2. You blind camera comparisons are incredible!!!
When comparing cameras with portrait shots, you really should include people of color, especially if the cameras differ a lot in the contrast levels. High contrast portraits can easily turn the shadow regions on the faces of brown people into pitch black, which can’t later be corrected because all information is lost in pure black regions of the picture. Because cameras don’t have the dynamic range of the human eye, they have to choose to either lower their contrast to fit more range or use high contrast and blow out the brights to pure white and the darks to pure black. You can always increase contrast in post-processing, but you can’t undo high contrast once it blows outside the limited range.
Ngl ultra probably has a better camera but you can’t go wrong with each. Ultimately I’m super satisfied with my pro max and apples setup is just unmatched so the camera just being smidge worse isn’t a problem for me.
Yeah I got different results with my s21 ultra. I stacked the night mode against a 12 pro max and the ultra came out on top, but they both are ridiculously good cameras lol.
I pretty much got 50/50. The one thing that I think gives the S21 the edge is the zoom and the macro. Great comparison though. You really can't go wrong with either one.
samsung should work on their ultra wide camera video quality to compete with iphone because the main 108mp could be better than iphone for photos, but not video at all.
Thank you! I switched to iPhone from the Pixel 4XL for the astrophotography, but it falls very flat with the moon. Most of my pics are of the landscape and your reviews just saved me some major $$
For me the Samsung is the winner only because of its zoom, making it more versatile and able to take shots the iPhone could never, while in normal scenarios I generally prefer the iPhone but the S21 is not lagging behind. But fundamentally for me that applies every time a phone has more (useful) cameras Honestly, I’m impressed with the portraits on the S21. On the other hand I was disappointed by the S21 for the 3x lens, and overall the shutter speed/nighttime performance, since with such a gargantuan sensor (for a smartphone) it could have been better imo. I hugely disagree for the daytime selfie shot, the S21 looked really “cheap” to me with that greenish tint, extreme contrast and possibly oversharpening, but I’m also used to edit my photos slightly if I need to, so the flat iPhone look works good for that. Would like to also see video included in the next test!
I own the iPhone 12 Pro Max and got the GS21 Ultra as my business phone on Wednesday. Great video that is fair. My user experience is both phones do a great job in general but the Ultra 21 is way better with zoom pics but the iPhone 12 Pro Max is miles ahead better taking videos. Too bad they didn't show a video to video comparison. 2 best phones out right now
But what about video? I've seen recent well-done video comparisons where iPhone 12 gets the win. (To be fair, in the past year or so, Samsung has been pushing out strong camera updates).
Samsung camera software until the software changes for the better will always be behind in terms of quality vs Apple, pixel the software is just shit on a Samsung phone . Lags, freezes ,cloudy so in comparison I prefer the smooth iPhone cameras .
And the crazy thing is this is the iPhone 12 pro max after quite a bit of software improvements. The S21 ultra just came out and there has only been 1 "initial release" software update. Would love to see what this comparison would look like in a month or 2. I got my s21 ultra in the phantom black last week and I couldn't be happier!
Great video! One suggestion however: Please show more of the original images in future editing, and minimize shooting your laptop screen. So many examples the original images showed so briefly I could hardly make an informed choice myself!
I have finals and I wasn’t planning to watch the video know.. but I couldn’t resist seeing all of you guys together❤️❤️❤️❤️ May you be safe and one you love too🤲🏻
In the 3x low light shot, it might be the main camera digitally zoomed in as the software auto switch between the lenses for better focal length.. So even if it shows the higher number, we have make sure whether it switches the lenses in s21ultra.

@@Desgeneratico Yeah, really sad to see that they just can't have an objective opinion. If it wasn't a blind test, the Iphone would have won for them.
@@tjerkstrikwerda1557 You guys are clearly clueless on these youtubers. They enjoy samsung phones, and would never be biased, they've been making these comparisons for a while.
Yeah, they seem to be hating everytime S21 ultra wins...
@@gunslinger9786 2:50- 3:17 honestly made me think they're biased, and I have no idea who any of these people are. They knew from the previous one the iPhone had the white balance issue, and made everything look blue in this particular instance. The left image of the truck was clearly the winner by a long shot.
19 - 9 for the s21 ultra for me. Not even close this time.
same.
Same
same
When Samsung won on portrait over iPhones.
Lol didn't see that one coming
doesnt make sence tho, cause' the fotos are weird, samsung does always mess up whitebalance, but here its fine? Like im not an iphone fan, but it doesnt make sence that iphone has first of all a lidar sensor (samsung doesnt) that is way better then the samsung sensor, it never messes up blur because ai + sensor just doesnt do that, but still all these things that samsung on other channels lost, won here.
When a phone from 2021 beat a 2020 phone but can't beat a 2021 phone.
@@fleekrushyt9410 lol,
I have iphone 12 pro with my dad,
Iphone also messes around edges sometimes.
I chosen s21U against Iphone 12 pro, and I'm super happy with my decision.
@@sakshyamdhungana2315 s21u camera software is sh*t (early) got great specs but software optimization is real waste of potential.
Loving that both brands are competitive! Just means better cameras for us
Finally its here. Have been waiting for this comparison from you.❤️
Ultra: 19
12ProMax: 9
- iPhone was slightly better overall at nighttime photos and portraits. Samsung was way better at zooming, landscapes, white-balance, and overall how realistic the photos are.
On a video production note please take HDR pictures and produce them in HDR. A few videos would be great too! HDR really makes scenes pop when they are close
Samsung - 18
iPhone - 8
(didn’t vote on the ones I couldn’t make my mind on)
Best camera comparison
I hope Neutral reviewers forever 🎉

Whole video: "so close!"
My score: 18 - 10
Their score: 17.5 - 10.5
Not that close is it
Now just do a comparison when the new updates come out!!
Let’s go I’ve been waiting for this since I heard about the s21
Actually the s21ultra ultra wide sensor is new
@@harryvlogs7833
and the main sensor is updated to
no need to mention the incredible 10x sensor
I have a s21 and the moon shots are so satisfying
Just curiousity, did you take every pic on the Samsung with the 108MP mode or just regular?
I think with the regular one except one or two landscape photos (actually saying this on my s21 hahaha)
And there was a software update today improving camera (and some other things).
So, are we going to do this test over?
I didn’t realise the 2 men were brothers I actually thought it was the same person 😂😂😂
They are like twins or something?
Amazing video! I absolutely love that you used some very difficult lighting situations to take the pictures, stretching the cameras to their maximum potential!
The only thing I didn't like is that you kept filming the laptop display instead of showing the pictures full screen, which gets in the way of analysing the actual pictures.
Anyway, thanks for the awesome comparison, this was an AMAZING video! 👏👏👏
16:12 for the S21 Ultra.
Samsung S 21 Ultra - 19
IPhone 12 Pro Max - 9
*Didn't expect such a big difference damn.*
The Samsung one actually looks nice and sharp, while the iPhone is actually nice on night pics
Unless you use pro mode on s21.
This should've been a homerun for samsung hadn't the man on the right keep picking what he thinks is an iphone he even chose the distorted picture at 8:40
Samsung still won, tf u goin on about
Ikr, he literally tried to guess which one is the iphone and picked it 🤣
This guy should know that when shooting with night mode or standard, the s21 ultra uses pixel binning, duh. U have to study more about smartphones like rlly
16:33 even Samsung try to show us that there is cloud in the sky, best dynamic range here for me, Iphone just black it out( look like more cinematic) but with a wealthy eyes, you shall see like S21 pic.
Honestly, I "prefer" how S21 try to figure out what is under and above those lights effects😌
But if you look down....iPhone has more details
Agree wd u on that
Samsung 18
Apple 10
I been Vlogging on the iPhone 12 Pro Max lately and it’s been pretty dope. Only issue is that you do hear wind noise if it’s windy out but it’s still a great vlog device with no external mic
You guys forgot to include video comparison 🥲, maybe another separate video for that?
Video quality is close, but the 12 Pro Max beats the S21 Ultra by a noticeable margin.
@@Tom_Stevens617 In what ways does it win? Is there a video out there I am on the fence on which to purchase.
@@Universem2 honestly, both are great phones. If you value video a lot, get the iPhone. If you value zoom shots a lot, get the Samsung.
If you don’t care that much, get whatever you want. They are both great. Which ever you think looks better get. If you might get in to an ecosystem, like buying a macbook, airpods etc, get the iPhone
@@walkingguy6409 The IPhone videos actually have a flickering problem.
@@jeffreytownsend6559 Not really, it is because they have a high shutter speed and a better sensor. It might just be an issue with your lights, try shooting at 24FPS. The lights must have been the issue.
A beautiful comparison video from a beautiful family full of personality. Honestly the best comparison video! I have the S21 Ultra and just want to say that switching off the 108-megapixel mode and switching to the 12-megapixel produces a much cleaner image.
lmao even when they try and make it unbiased it still ends up being biased. When they found out that the iphone shoots those weird blue photos they chose the iphone the next round even though the picture looked terribly blue and off. Just seems as if they were trying to guess which one was apple so they could avoid giving samsung the points.
U fandroids r rly delusional. Samsung still won, tf ya on about?
@@dervinaltenor8923 I definitely think they gave that particular pic to the iPhone knowing the white balance issue. The Samsungs phot was a clear winner. But other than that I don't think they were hunting for it really
Edit: didn't realize how old this comment was, sorry to bug ya
I noticed that the girl was doing that the other guy was doing good
Going of detail
Wow! Completely surprised by this. I had the S21 Ultra well out in the lead. I’m an Apple guy too but I preferred the S21U images most of the time.
Lotsa room for improvement on both, but it’s still amazing seeing so much zoom in a phone camera.
Love these blind comparisons.
Your guy's videos are imo the best on youtube. Appreciate all that you guys do!

@Ayaan Mathur Oh, lol. I've been watching them for a while so I got used to them long ago 😅😂

Another one like fm me
I was an iPhone nerd but then I made a difficult choice and switched to fold 2 and after that life became smooth. I am currently using s21 ultra and fold 2.
It really does come down to preference as they are both so excellent, the only real defining factor between the two, is the macro and telephoto is better on the Samsung, and the video and 2.5x portraits are better on the iPhone.
@Harsh Gurnani Portrait mode is probably the most used mode on a smartphone camera apart from just ‘auto’.
Love you guys. Love how you are family and so close, and work well together. Makes me happy to watch you. Also love the tech stuff on the channel.
I love when you do these type of videos.
S21 Ultra: 17
Apple: 9
Draw: 1
Samsung did a great job this year! Also, thanks for making an unbiased review because this is the only way to get true results. Great video!
I got 17 s21 ultra and 11 iphone 12 pro max (edit) no joke I promise you I did not copy Angelica
I own an Iphone 12 Pro but did it completely unbiased:
S21 Ultra: 15
12 Pro Max: 13
Still pretty satisfied with my purchase though, as I believe the iphone favours my photo-taking style.
The ultra does use a new HM3 sensor compared to HM1 last gen
Thanks guys, really enjoy your blind camera tests and other videos. I personally chose the iphone to be best for most shots, excluding the zoom shots, the macro, some of the selfies (oh, and the moon shot!). I wonder if you would consider including comparison of video footage from the phones in your tests since video is very important to many users? Cheers
i really love this blind camera tests for me are the best videos of the channel
iPhone for me!
Holy shit yeah 😂
Also maybe one is slightly zoomed in or tilted or something
@@ssrini2002 Yeah, it would be funny to see how they choose in that😂
Amazing video, Apple vs Samsung camera like Nikon vs Canon, both are top notch 👌 just subbed your channel i like this type of unbiased compression
Lol the 12 pro max is clearly better and i have it
Scores:
Samsun S21 Ultra - 15 Points
iPhone 12 Pro Max - 13 Points
( I think the iPhone will get the point for video tho :D )
I don't get the issues they have with 3x optical zoom. For me, night mode on it is great
people claiming about too much contrast of samsung phones in the past...now they correct it and make it incredibly real. Same people when apple implement a saturated and unnatural contrast: "wooow its amazing that contrast on the iphone"
I’m an apple fan and I still prefer natural looking photo’s regardless of which phone is taking them.
S21: llllllllllllllllll
12 pro max: llllllllll
1. I got 14 for the S21 Ultra and 14 for the 12 Pro Max. In the beginning it was 8 for the Ultra 3 for the Pro Max but then the iPhone caught up.
2. You blind camera comparisons are incredible!!!
Waooo great job! New camera king!
S21 ultra killing it!
Best tech review channel i ever found
I’m an iPhone user but that moon picture has me wanting to switch just for the S21 Ultra ‘cause WOAH! 😍 amazing!!
The s21 is the most amazing camera that I have ever used
Ngl ultra probably has a better camera but you can’t go wrong with each.
18-10 in favor of the s21 ultra. Samsung killed it this year
IMO. yall give the best comparisons on UA-cam, and I couldn't wait to click this.
samsung should work on their ultra wide camera video quality to compete with iphone
because the main 108mp could be better than iphone for photos, but not video at all.
Thank you! I switched to iPhone from the Pixel 4XL for the astrophotography, but it falls very flat with the moon. Most of my pics are of the landscape and your reviews just saved me some major $$
@Max Tech is this the snapdragon or exynos variant please?
For me the Samsung is the winner only because of its zoom, making it more versatile and able to take shots the iPhone could never, while in normal scenarios I generally prefer the iPhone but the S21 is not lagging behind.
But fundamentally for me that applies every time a phone has more (useful) cameras
Honestly, I’m impressed with the portraits on the S21.
When iPhone fanboys realise that the S21 ultra is a beast: Priceless!
2 best phones out right now
S21 Ultra nailed it. with Future Camera Updates 12 Pro Max has no chance
@@LosBlancoo YES!!!

In the 3x low light shot, it might be the main camera digitally zoomed in as the software auto switch between the lenses for better focal length.. So even if it shows the higher number, we have make sure whether it switches the lenses in s21ultra.
