Same here, it's nice to have a big library of films to select from. Plus, my friends love it. They come over and can watch almost anything they can think of.
That is quite a collection! When I saw the thumbnail I thought, he doesnt have that many. Then the camera pans haha. Some very nice additions such as the LOTR set, 2001, Taxi Driver, and that Citizen Kane!
Sorry I forgot to answer your question (I think I mentioned it in the video), that's part of my que (movies I need to watch and show in an update video before adding them to the collection). If you want to see how my set-up has changed recently just search for my Nerd Cave video. Thanks again for watching :)
I can't speak for every dvd or blu ray fan, but I have collected movies dating back to the days of vhs tapes. Only I like dvds & blu rays better for many reasons. One you don't half to wait in line at the movies, two you can watch your fav scene over & over again & my most fav reason are the special features that you can get no where else!
@WonderBooks Thanks!! I love Sliders, my family used to watch the new episodes each week when it first came on tv. I own the first 3 seasons, but I need to watch them and put them in a DVD update before they go into the collection. Thanks so much for the nice comment :)
@bla87 awesome suggestion, I will definitely check that out. Right now I'm not purchasing anything until I clear out most of my 'que' (large box full of movies I haven't watched). When I start buying again I will have a list ready to pick out some great titles. Other than the criterion collection I'm looking to finish my Alfred Hitchcock collection. I have a lot of them in my que so I'll be talking about them in my DVD updates for awhile. Thanks for the comment :)
@TheYesMan30 Yep, I want everything in my collection to be in mint condition. I love Columbo, I've wanted the DVDs for awhile and was unaware they were available in a complete set. I also like Murder She Wrote, but they're hard to find in good condition in any of the retail stores in my area. Thanks for the nice comment :)
Must be new to my channel. I'm obsessed with LOTR. I reviewed the extended edition box set before it was even released. It is in this video, on top of the dark colored shelves next to the Stargate collection.
@MrThomas432 First of all, thank you very much for the nice compliments I'm glad you enjoyed the video :) There are a few adult cartoons I like. I enjoy the Simpsons, especially the first 6 seasons before they hired new writers. I love Futurama, although I don't think the newest season can stack up against the early ones (hopefully it'll get better). I also love King of the Hill, I'm hoping that somehow someway they'll release the entire series in one set. If thy do that I'll buy it.
(1 of 2) Highly enjoyable video dude! I want to watch Stargate so bad. The thing is I can get my hands on some of those series for a good price. Home Inprovement series is my number one thing I want right now. I'm getting ready to re-alphabetize my entire collection and get a new overview filmed.
@wetmovie1 thanks buddy, I need to get some theater seating like you have, where did you get yours? Someday I hope to have a collection as epic as yours :)
Wow, Awesome collection!!! You have so many great Tvshows! I had never seen the Home Improvement Box, it looks cool!! Quantum Leap is awesome, I also loved Sliders (did you watch this one)! The Office is Hilarious :) TMNT are cool! Fantastic, thanks for showing:D
I've watched every movie in my collection at least once and yes I do watch the one's I love many times. It is about collecting for me as well as my love of movies.
Your collection blows my mind! Just so amazing man. Really very amazed :). I keep my DVDs when I get the blu-ray too! It's because they are normally worth nothing, if anything I'd either give them to my parents/siblings (leaving them at home) or to friends. I hope you don't mind me asking, as you didn't mention it in the video (I think) but how many blu-rays/DVDs do you own? Once again, GREAT collection!
I just haven't had the opportunity to see it yet. I know it's getting a Blu-ray release soon so I will give it a watch when I'm able to get my hands on it.
Oh and to celebrate Universal's 100th Anniversary this year, it's been confirmed that E.T, Jaws and Schindlers List, among others, are being released on Blu-ray :)
You'll have to be more specific. There's a reason for every title that's in my collection. I enjoy buying things from time to time that I've never seen because it's fun (and it usually costs the same as a movie ticket). As far as movies I don't like being in my collection, they either came with a ticket to a movie I would've seen anyways (thus rendering the DVD/Blu-ray virtually free) or they were sent to me by a production company to review in a video.
i can't understand why u people complain about his collection. some people do collect games, some people shoes etc. nothing is free. everyone likes something. i want blu-ray collection like that!
Actually, the entire series of Stargate Atlantis came to Blu-ray in June of 2011. I own it now, but I didn't get it until after this video was filmed. I've recently seen the individual seasons for sale in Best Buy as well. I'm still waiting on the release of season two of Stargate Universe on Blu-ray. I remember two years ago MGM said that SG:1 would never get a Blu-ray release, but I'm hoping it will happen someday. MGM has a gem in this Stargate franchise and they've squandered it in many ways
Your comment is a little hard to understand, but I'll do my best. At the time I filmed this video season 1 & 2 of Big Bang Theory were only available on DVD. I do own them and they are in this video. Every season that was released at the time is in this video.
Very Impressive! I'm starting out on making a DVD collection, but I'm having some trouble buying the actual Units to store them. Where would you recommend looking, and what type of unit would you recommend, eg a tall thin one. or a short but wide one? thanks
Really like your collection. I'm the same way when it comes to alphabetizing my collection as well. I have a non blu-ray question for you though. How are do you make that banner for your name above your video?
Nice Collection dude, I only get great movies on Blue rays,I'm starting to get more Blue rays in my Collection. Inside man is a great movie! Got to check it out.
You really look after your stuff, everything looks brand new. Do you like the tv show Columbo? Ive just got the whole set that comes in a cigar box, really nice for any collection. Quantum leap comes in a nice box set aswell, you should try getting that it looks better and is quite a good price to. Great video and collection.
I just never really got into the Harry Potter series. I did see the first two films when they were first released (I borrowed the VHS from the library, back then I only owned about 5 DVDs). I liked them, but never bought the films. I do plan on watching the rest of the series at some point in the future. Thanks for watching my video :)
Good for you, good for you. Nice collection by the way! I am starting my own (I have been at it for about 3 months now, Blu Rays that is) but it isn't very big as I am 18 and I don't have that much of an expendable income. But it is something I enjoy! But yeah nice collection! Enjoyed the video!
Have you ever looked at the Colombia Best Pictures set? Its a collection of 11 Colombia pictures films that won Best Picture awards. I know you have Bridge On the River Kwai which is part of the set. Not sure if you have the others. Its an awesome set. Just bought it myself and was blown away by the set.
Great collection! Iv around 1400 myself, your stargate sg1 collection did you know you can get a great box set with a plastic gate on front? Its a great set for a fan!!
I picked it up at a local retailer. I don't think you have Amazon in Australia, but it's available from them for 45.99 USD. If you know someone in the US they could forward it to you if you're willing to pay shipping
I'm seeing that now. I don't understand what the point is of doing a re-release of the series again in November. Maybe because it was just a Best Buy exclusive when they released each season individually.
The Animatrix is really cool,i think you should give it a try.Actually(as a curiosity)Square Soft made the first short of Animatrix(Last flight of the Osiris).I think that was pretty cool.Just avoid the last short of Animatrix,it really sucks, but the other 8 short films are really good.
Fair enough. Wasn't making a big deal except that most serious collectors seem to be anti-censorship. You're clearly a serious collector...it's just interesting to me. Besides, I wasn't talking about your language, but your comments on the content of certain films.
You said that the cut out nudity makes you happy, lol. I'm not sure why? Any backstory that I'm missing for that? I just started checking out your stuff.
Well, my wife and I are pretty good at sticking to our budget. We each get a small amount to spend on whatever we like each week and I usually choose to buy movies with my money.
not only is E.T. Coming to Blu-Ray it will be the original theatrical release only which i thought Spielberg would give it the Close Encounters treatment using seamless branching between the different versions but it is best that the original comes out only because that is the version that everyone knows and loves
I really wish the UK had Mrs Doubtfire, love that film. I can import the French version Madame Doubtfire though if I really wanted too, lol. Would LOVE that Lion King steelbook too, but I can't get it over here. Moon is so underrated, I loved that one. This also reminded me to buy Napolean Dynamite on Blu-ray, really need to pick that up. I've had Bridge on the River Kwai for a few months, really need to watch it.
That's what just about every other video I make is like. This one is just to show everything as quickly as I could and it still took a half hour. Try watching any of my other videos...
@filmdumb I love the show. Sorry I'm so defensive, this week several people have proclaimed that I'm ignorant because of my taste in movies. They cited the fact that my collection video from three years ago doesn't contain enough classic material. They refuse to watch my newer videos.
Do you mean how long have I been collecting? That's kind of a complicated answer. I've really been collecting DVDs since 2001 and Blu-rays since 2009. I collected VHS from the early 90's until 2001, but that collection wasn't very large and I gave them all away.
(2 of 2) Lost is my all time favorite show that isn't a comedy. Ashley and I watched the whole series since day 1 and it was spectacular. Have you seen the preview for JJ Abrams new thriller tv show Alcatraz? It's gonna be amazing. Stars Sam Neill and the dude who played Hurley in lost! Great criterion dude!
@Maverick1701A Oh, I didn't know that. If I can find the individual Blu-ray sets for a good price I'll get them instead. I'm glad you're a fellow Enterprise fan :)
Impressive collection. I have to ask, how is it that all of your cases are in such awesome condition? Do you mainly purchase at B&M stores so you can get the best copy? The OCD part of me commends your setup and the excellent condition of your colleciton. Sorry if you answered this but I didn't have time to watch the whole video. Take care!
Nice collection. I don't keep my dvds after I upgrade them. I do have exceptions however like my star trek directors cut dvds and a few others. Or if the extra content isn't on the blu-ray. I just find they become redundant and take up to much room. Great collection!
Well the one's I purchase in the stores I meticulously look through for the one in the best condition. However, most of the movies I buy I get on Amazon. They have a really good return policy. If something comes to me damaged ask for an exchange. They usually ship it next day to me. I have about 150 spare Blu-ray cases in my closet, if the wrapping sticks to the case and damages it, I just toss it out and put everything in a new case. I don't like to have anything damaged in my collection :)
@99RatedR The only DVDs I buy are things that are unavailable on Blu-ray. I still have a big stack of DVDs that I need to watch for future update videos though.
Same here, it's nice to have a big library of films to select from. Plus, my friends love it. They come over and can watch almost anything they can think of.
No problem dude, people like you are who inspired me to get in to collecting, so thank you!
yes, very nice collection. I have hundreds of dvds, blurays. I must get a recent count. Thanks again Robbie for sharing.
That is quite a collection! When I saw the thumbnail I thought, he doesnt have that many. Then the camera pans haha. Some very nice additions such as the LOTR set, 2001, Taxi Driver, and that Citizen Kane!
Awesome video man, absolutely loved it, thanks for putting it up! Your taste in films and TV is 10/10 in tune with mine I think, heh
Wow! what an amazing Blu-ray and DVD collection.
I definitely just rewatched this video again!
Thanks! Clint Eastwood is great and I love Pale Rider. He's not only one of my favorite actors, but also one of my favorite directors :)
Sorry I forgot to answer your question (I think I mentioned it in the video), that's part of my que (movies I need to watch and show in an update video before adding them to the collection). If you want to see how my set-up has changed recently just search for my Nerd Cave video. Thanks again for watching :)
I got Band Of Brothers too and I must agree with you, dude. It's the greatest war movie of all time, totally blowned away by that one
Reign over me was great and the princess and the frog brings back memories of the early 90's.
@WonderBooks Thanks!! I love Sliders, my family used to watch the new episodes each week when it first came on tv. I own the first 3 seasons, but I need to watch them and put them in a DVD update before they go into the collection. Thanks so much for the nice comment :)
Your Home Improvement Box Set has to be the coolest in your collection love that show wish Hollywood made good movies and TV shows in today's times.
You seems to be an awesome guy! Congrats for the coming baby!!! :)
OMG! It is the (biggest) and best DVD/blu-Ray Collection, that I have ever seen... :) NICE
Cool!! Thanks for watching, it's great to hear from someone in Chile. It's also always awesome to meet a fellow X-Files fan :)
Amazing collection and I used to love Angry Beavers!! I haven't seen it in years though.
@bla87 awesome suggestion, I will definitely check that out. Right now I'm not purchasing anything until I clear out most of my 'que' (large box full of movies I haven't watched). holy crap! your dvd collection is sick!
Don't worry man, you're way ahead of me. I've got 484 DVDs and Blu-Rays combined, although I'm missing 5-10 DVDs.
Nice blu-ray collection Robbie!
Awesome !! Long live DVD-Blu-Ray !!!
Cool Lord Of The Rings Extended Edition Set. Really love it! :D And all of the Blu-Ray movies. Cool collection. :D
It was a great film, so I'm happy to have picked it up for a great price.
You really look after your stuff, everything looks brand new. Do you like the tv show Columbo? Ive just got the whole set that comes in a cigar box, really nice for any collection. If I get the time to count them all I will. Maybe sometime soon.
Thank you, I'm happy with it. I changed the layout a bit since this video. See my Nerd Cave tour video if you want to check it out :)

Great collection! From one collector to another, how many do you have? And with that I mean including all of it, blu-rays, dvds and tv shows.
Love your collection xx
amazing collection mate

When I saw it down Eastview, the ticket said Kick-A. BTW good for you for not saying words that you find offensive.

@99RatedR ooooh one more thing do you prefer to keep buying movies on DVD or do you think would be best to start buying bluray or both¿
yea, a movie collection says a lot about your passion for film!
@filmdumb I love the show. Sorry I'm so defensive, this week several people have proclaimed that I'm ignorant because of my taste in movies. They cited the fact that my collection video from three years ago doesn't contain enough classic material. They refuse to watch my newer videos.

Okay. I'm thinking about doing unboxing videos for my blu-rays. Mainly my steelbooks.
Take care!
@filmdumb I love Doctor Who, no matter how many DVDs I buy there'll always be a complaint from someone right?
Nice collection man !!!
thank you. Summer Heights High is sooo good. More people should watch it :)
Nice collection. I don't keep my dvds after I upgrade them. I do have exceptions however like my star trek directors cut dvds and a few others. Or if the extra content isn't on the blu-ray. I just find they become redundant and take up to much room. Great collection!

I have about 150 spare Blu-ray cases in my closet, if the wrapping sticks to the case and damages it, I just toss it out and put everything in a new case. I LOL'ed when you said Kick-Butt.
awesome collection dude
Props 4 the extract plug
@99RatedR The only DVDs I buy are things that are unavailable on Blu-ray. I still have a big stack of DVDs that I need to watch for future update videos though.
I had Seinfeld seasons 1-2 and 3 for a while, I recently picked up rest of them for 3,50€ each :D
@Rchattaway87 hahaha awesome dude, I can't wait to see your updated collection vid :)
This is amazing!
