On my first playthough Ryan trusted me. I didn't realize there was such a controversy with Ryan, and thought it was pretty easy to get him to side with you. Watching this video made me realize how lucky I got HAHA
Ha - ya you did! There was a whole issue at the beginning where people thought Ryan was awful because of his Anger + this reaction. There were all these articles written about toxic LiS partner choices and how Ryan's love depended on the Red Wire. I was like.. Nooo! He must be redeemed! 🤣

Taking charlottes anger is defeating the purpose of grieving healthy. She deserves to feel this way. Taking it away leads to no emotion which leads to depression.
I can get why it was hard to trust Alex when Jed is Ryan’s dad . But still makes me sad that so many people have to believe me for him to believe me . Still love Ryan and I understand is position.
Ya, I agree too. I think it would've been a little easier to take if there were more wild outbursts/exaggerations from Alex (e.g. after taking Char's anger) If he saw her acting dramatic at least 1 more time, it would've been easier to process his disbelief I think.
@@PlayingWithHeart Makes me think about why Steph believes you no matter what. I'm 100% team Steph but it's curious that only one LI needs to be convinced...unless it's nothing to do with romantic interest and more about each person.
@@XKathXgames Steph has NOTHING to loose, she wanted to leave anyway and didn't have any attachments to that place or its people. I'm pretty sure it would have been just as hard for her to believe Alex when Jed would have been her dad.

I took Charlotte anger since I'm concerned she'll do something to harm herself. But then at the festival she sounded so empty, I had a feeling I made the "wrong" choice(welp), causing Ryan not to believe Alex at the meeting (I only got Pike and Duckie to support me haha).
Even with Eleanor, I know she meant well by telling my Alex to "seek for help". But I'm sticking with my choices on that one, I still believe that telling Eleanor about Gabe and Riley about Eleanor's condition is the right thing to do.
But I'm satisfied with the ending I got. I can accept that Ryan not believing Alex at the meeting. I mean she accuses his father(his idol). I'd have doubts too. Atleast Ryan knew his mistakes and ended up apologizing at the end (since I chose him to be with Alex haha) and my Alex forgave him. I saw a few playthroughs where the players rejects Ryan completely when he apologizes. That's cruel lol.
My only problem with the ending is that I wish the trio (Alex, Ryan and Steph) would still be together as good friends. I can't believe that Steph would just left Haven Springs without saying anything. Even in the Ending where Alex and Steph stayed at Haven Springs together and Ryan believe Alex at the meeting, THERE WAS NO RYAN IN THE ENDING SCENES wtf 😂 The game somehow just ditch the other love interest you didn't choose (Alex wanna be with Ryan, Bye Steph. Alex wanna be with Steph, Bye Ryan😂😂). Why can't the squad be together!? WE NEED CLOSURE
Ah yes.. I agree and stand by your choices too! I know.. it's the worst. Ryan is there but it's right at the beginning of Gabe's prediction and he's just sad/angry staring at the mountains silently. It's very awkward. I definitely want to re-edit the ending... hmmm.... I think I just might do that.... 🥰
Everybody trusted me but elenor and she was like "we all understand but we all know jed is innocent" and I was shocked because EVERYBODY ELSE (Including Ryan) believed me I was sooo mad

Pike needed to grow a pair, helping him was a good thing. I decided not to take Char's anger because I know that level of anger and it makes you feel better eventually once you let yourself feel it. Duckie was the old uncle you always need in your pocket, complete with stories. Then Eleanor, my reasoning was that Riley should start her life and not worry about the dementia because there's LITERALLY a whole town to help her in her times of need, so I kept the secret.

@@emilytabea8792 I just took the anger out of her because during the scene, Alex says "so much anger can kill her" and I thought the game was trying to tell me that if I left her with that anger she would kill herself further on similar to Mac

Ya, they definitely made it seem like that could happen. I definitely didn't want to remove someone's grief, but I didn't want to experience that either. Also I was just curious how this new evolution of Alex's power would work.

I just finished this game TODAY and I’m very happy I was able to experience it. Like many here, my Ryan did not back me when I confronted Jed. At first I was very upset about this, but I actually appreciate it happening because it makes him a much more realistic and complex character. In hindsight it’s definitely not logical for someone to believe a girl they’ve known a few weeks over someone they have known their whole life, and a parent at that.
EXACTLY! I think this is the only logical thing that makes sense. Yes, he was a little harsh with her, and I think he could've been more doubtful instead of the way he responded.. but his hero dad's rep was on the line and it totally makes sense. Especially in this case.. where he either saw her emotional explode and throw the bottle and/or didn't have any proof from Pike.

I got Ryan to trust me first time. Everyone supported me. I didn't take Charlotte's anger because I felt like it was unethical to literally control someone's emotions like that (and I didn't know how it would effect Alex). But then I took Pike's fear because I just couldn't sign the paper and let Typhon get away with it. I didn't tell Riley about Eleanor because I guessed it would make her stay and felt it would be better for her to go on with her life, even if that meant keeping something from her. I found Duckie in the bar by accident and just decided to help him. Worked out well in the end I guess

When I got to the scene with Charlotte I was like.....this is literally one of the stages of grief. It's horrible to watch, but why on earth would I take away someone's ability to process losing someone? She was behaving completely normally....
It's cool to see a comment which show exactly all the same thoughts i had on my gameplay~ The only difference is in the Pikes'fear. I chosen to taking it because i didn't consider it like it like a genuine feeling of him, he got that deeply fear feeling caused by the others, so was like stopping him to think with his head properly. The rest like you said already 😁👍
Eleanor was the only one not to support me and Ryan believed me. I didn't realise how lucky I got there 😂😂

That’s very true, but I feel like it also makes sense for the people in haven not to believe you if you don’t bond with them/ have a strong connection, you gotta remember the events in this game span over a month, so if you don’t bond with them their perspective is this random girl that was close to someone they knew for years comes into their town for like a blip in time and then starts randomly making all these crazy claims against one of their most trusted friends.
On my first gameplay he sided with me I had to friendzone his punk ass I’m playing it the second time he betrayed me f this dude

It's taking a bit longer because it seems like he has 1 less possible point to get compared to Steph, and the perfectionist part of me desperately wants it to be even even though I've tried everything... so I'm having trouble letting that go 🤣 Also, I think Ryan needs a song too... perhaps something with bird calls ❤️

I'm here because I felt punished in the end for trying to treat things how I would IRL. The only ones who supported me were Steph to my surprise, and Eleanor because to me it was not my place to tell Riley. While hesitant I took Charlotte's anger away for fear she might kill herself, and later did not take Pike's fear away once I saw how messed up Charlotte had been. Only to have both think of me later as some lying psycho. Now Duckie I barely interacted with, so OK. And then the game twisted the knife. I could understand Ryan's hesitation completely, I would be too, but the way he instantly pulled away almost disgusted without so much as trying to understand what had happened, as Alex stood there in bloodied clothes and after the intimate moments they had shared, is what strikes me as betrayal. Of course I couldn't instantly forgive him afterward, any reasonable person would at least need time to process and heal. It's a decent game, but there needed to be some sort of point system based on side tasks for all characters not just one or two game changing dialogue options.

Thanks! Sort of… to have Eleanors support, Riley can’t find out about her condition. So yes, you have to tell her about Gabe and then also not tell Riley at the bus stop in Chapter 4 (or just don’t visit her there)
I completely understood why he didn’t agree with me immediately (just had my first playthrough thx to ur vids!) I was literally trashing his dad in front of the town council- but I was genuinely shocked when he, and everyone else was on my side lol!

I think that the real reason Pike wanted Alex to sign the affidavit was because he knew that was what Gabe would have wanted Alex to do
I didn't take Charlotte's anger away because she rubbed me the wrong way. Saying she hates her son? Damn. She's got issues that she needs to work out on her own. She was one character who I never really liked.
Fact I did it out of spite on my first play through I had Eleanor support pike support Ryan support Steph support even charlotte the second one I got the worse ending I ended up with Ryan but he did not trust me when I confronted his dad I’ll never do that again 😂😂😂
i got so unlucky during my playthrough and absolutely no one but Steph sided with me lmao. i even found duckie in the back of the bar but i didn’t think there was a way to help him
Aww.. darn. That was a rough ending then for you lol! To get Duckie to side with you, you have to walk out of that back bar room he's in after checking his emotions. There will be 3 places you can tune into his memories. That prompts a dance with you and you 2 both connect. It's really beautiful. I would totally recommend replaying that scene so you can experience it!
the first time I played only Charlotte was on my side. I didn't see Duckie at the festival, and it felt wrong to hide Eleanor's illness from Riley and take other people's emotions. It was disappointing that Ryan didn't trust me while Steph did

@3:53 do you have any explanation as to what affects Charlotte’s willingness to take or leave the money? Apparently very few people have gotten the ”Charlotte believed you but wasn’t able to help” option. Tried to google this earlier today to no avail
Yes I will have a video about this! There are a number of things that you do to collect “Charlotte points” that affect this outcome. I’m still testing a few combinations but will have this video soon. (That percentage is completely incorrect by the way. I believe it’s an error in the game calculations for that one and another traceable result.)

The only person who didn't trust me in my run was Eleanor. I had no idea that Ryan not trusting you was a thing that could happen until my girlfriend told me he didn't trust her on her run...wonder what she and I did differently now
It’s weird that taking charlotte’s anger makes her a shell but taking Pike’s fear makes him more confident and happy.

Trusting Ryan is cool too cause he still wants to help or 'figure it out together' when belief in Jed is broken. Jed lost belief Ryan didn't

Yes! He won't trust her if these rules aren't followed regardless of their relationship status. So that doesn't factor in at all. It does change a small part of the dialogue between them, but not his demeanor or final opinion.

I didn't know, so many had trouble getting Ryan to trust them. I need to know what they all did to get this outcome cause I thought it was pretty simple.

Not gonna lie, I actually really love the scene where Ryan doesn’t believe Alex and apologizes to her later (which happened on my first playthrough), so on future playthroughs, I actually prefer to not gain his trust whenever I romance him, and make Ryan believe Alex whenever I romance Steph :)
Thanks for testing all the rumors we had back in the day, and to verify the actual method! I’m actually glad that none of the choices associated with Ryan himself matter here, so Steph playthroughs can also gain his trust :)
Speaking of: Which choices would you want to matter if Steph’s stance was also determinant? While I think it fits her character very well that she believes Alex no matter what, I’d be interesting to hear which choices/votes you would highlight otherwise :)
Here, I also really want to ask a question that is only half-related to this video: How exactly do you make Duckie believe you if you _don’t_ visit him in the Black Lantern? Because according to the stats, only ~20% of players helped him, but around ~50% gained his trust. So, which other choices determine it? I assume it has something to do with finding his scotch and being nice to him during the LARP, but I’m not 100% sure. Every guide I ever found mentions the Black Lantern scene, as if it was the only way to make him believe you, but the percentages say otherwise … so, what do you need to do? :)
huh - never had an issue with this as everyone supported me 100% in every playthru except one, but cool to see it all laid out. I would never take Char's pain, as part of life is learning to deal with that shit on your own, and I probs would not have taken Pike's fear, except the only other option was to sign the paper - and no way in hell was I doing that lol. The only person that didn't support me on the single playthru was Eleanor, because I spared her pain. Apparently that caused her to miss the lantern send off which alerted Riley to her illness. I thought that particular point was pretty weak point in the story, as it was never explained in the game - had to look it up on the net to see how it even occurred. I got to the end of the chapter and it was like "Riley found out about Eleanor's illness" or whatever, and I'm sitting there going - "How the hell did THAT happen?!" lol
Yes, the Eleanor/Riley/Mac storyline is sooo intertwined so I'm thinking they had to simplify that part. It gets really complicated. But ya, it's a weak spot for sure. And agree, on a real-life perspective, intuitively no one should ever interfere with someone's emotional experience 1.) without permission 2.) without that person actively working on getting through their issue first and feeling at a loss to solving it. Ok, off my soapbox now lol
Even though I took Charlotte's anger (I thought it would help her & preserve her relationship with Ethan) & I found out it was a bad choice so I left Pike's fear, I thought I was safe because guides said that hugging & supporting him, plus romancing him was an alternate loyalty route.

I see from the comments that you are aware of your omission of the second requirement for Elenor's support, so I won't go into that, however, I believe not taking Charlotte's anger is vital for Ryan's support...but not for the reason you hypothesize. Just lashing out and breaking Steph's trophy doesn't seed distrust for Alex. What it does do is it makes Steph leave the room, thus making Ryan leave to check on her...hence neither are in the room when you dig further into the laptop and uncover the facts about the blast and its cover-up. If you're calm, both stay during this process and don't have to hear it second hand from Alex later.

Coz I missed out talking to Riley about Elanor (I didn't speak to her before she went away coz I forgot XD), I took away Pike's nervousness coz removing that feeling you can feel confident and also not taking away Char's anger away coz ik in rl trying to calm down someone who is angry is kinda dangerous so I left her alone.
I only didn't get Duckie to trust me. I tried to finish the game too quick i missed him out XD
Nice! Ya, missing Riley at the bus stop is the most common thing and totally different depending on your earlier choices. I actually really love those scenes with her. If you didn't see how that turns out yet, the "Spare vs. Tell Eleanor" video is out now... it digs into that a bit. Either way, good call on all of your other choices!

While I do prefer True Colors and think it's the best entry in the series, Life Is Strange 2 had so many interesting variations in the outcomes you get depending on your decisions. Yay! Thank you! I definitely have plans to go back to LIS 2 eventually. I agree the choices in there are so complicated and beautiful. (They are in true colors too, but they hide it so well.) As soon as I finish up with true colors, I will likely do focus on 1 remastered since that’s coming out soon… and then go back to life is strange 2 for sure!

This video isnt exactly right. Ryan supported me but I chose several of the options said you we're wrong. The only area I think matters right Ryan is having him think of something peaceful when you tell him have powers convince him that it's not his fault Gabe passed and have him believe you'll figure it out and showing you trust him by having him invite Diane to hang out. Other than those 3 yhings I didn't do anything to give Ryan the feeling that we were close or anything like that. The only person who didn't support me was Eleanor and I believe it's because I told her she missed Gabe's wake and I told Riley her secret.
Yep that’s correct. If duckie, charlotte and pike supported you like you mentioned, Ryan will also. None of the other choices in the game affect that result. Eleanor can also support as another option but thorough testing showed nothing else mattered except what I listed toward the end of the video

I thought taking charlottes anger away was the right thing to do, I saw it consuming her and effecting how she saw herself and her son. I didn’t care if she hated everyone else but the fact that her anger was causing her to hate her son was so sad, I didn’t want it to cause her to lash out on Ethan or harm herself. A bit later on during my play through I saw her becoming emotionless and she said something like “I used to feel so deeply and now I feel numb” or something like that and I then realized I shouldn’t have taken away her anger cause feeling deeply is what made up her personality and would have helped me in the end 🥲
