Gave a thumbs up, but you are always breaking my heart when throwing away those cameras, though. They survived for 60 or 70 years and then they met you ...
I would rather have a 120 camera than one of these, but it’s still a beautiful example of a well designed camera. These old lenses have a certain look to them, 35mm barely does them justice. I was looking at an Afga Ansco camera tbh
Known in Europe as the Zeiss Ikon Contina. I have one with a different lens and love the design and build quality of the camera. Rewinding the roll requires the release button to be pressed real good. Otherwise it jams, as intended. Comparing it to a Trip 35 I dont really understand. Different beasts.
I accidentally sent the same thing with my Demi a few weeks ago but it was in a bag when it happened and I didn’t open it all the way.. here’s hoping it didn’t ruin things
They are camera designed to make you are good photographer, to make you use your brain. With a lot of practice, time and effort you can get unbelievable photo's out of that little box. Well maybe not that one now, since you tossed it.
Haha, who is Matt Day. I have a Zeiss Ikonta Messa and will look for a Icarex or Contessa to complement. Next time I'm down there. I'll bring my Zeiss and shoot around the River

You could use a separate vintage rangefinder/distance finder, else a laser distance finder which is very accurate.

I have a 1936 Weta. They are amazing little cameras.

Loving this series man
Wait how many did you actually lose? Does it only kill the frames on the outer layer of the roll or does it reach further in???

so the ikon contessa would be an upgrade to this? also what was the lens coupled with the camera?

It's a supercool camera, (no, I don't have the same model,) but hey, it's 75 years old, have some patience. And try normal or low ISO film.
Nice camera, kinda akward to use jajaja
