I was so happy to see this pattern in crochet after seeing the knitted one!! So thankful you give your time so selflessly to your channel! I also love your voice and your English!
I stayed up so late finishing this brilliant Katniss inspired wrap! I LOVE it. It was so much fun to make and the end result is so rewarding. Much gratitude to you for sharing your talent and this wonderful pattern . You are a great teacher.
Hello I just want to say I LOOOVE YOUR TUTORIALS. You explain so well. This is 7 yrs old but a person wanted one and I knew who to come to. Sometimes I catch myself saying "like that" because your accent is so beautiful. Thank you
Just found your videos!!! Love your style of instruction...clear and concise...not a lot of "chit chat". Love this piece as well as some of the others I have viewed. Looking forward to spending more time with you!! Thank you:)
I haven't learned to crochet or knit as well as you yet, but I love your videos. Your instructions are precise. Thanks so much for your detailed explanations.
Great video Ruby! Your directions are so easy to follow and I like that you get right into making it from the beginning without a lot of talking before hand. I'm going to make it today. Thanks so much and I am subscribing after watching this video. I'll spread the word!
Thank you soooo very much. I made this and it looks awesome. I think I'm going to make matching wrist warmers. Thank you soo much for sharing your creativity !!
I just finished mine right now & I love it!! I made mine in a super chunky...graphite color yarn. I used a 11.5 (P) hook. Now to make another one..lol!! Thanks Ruby for all your awesome videos!!
this is beautiful. i can wait to make. i will try and write the instructions as i go so that i can refer to them without the video. thank you for you sharing!!
Fantastic idea!! This makes want to crochet one of these, but...for mine, I will use LION BRAND YARNS Homespun (5 - Bulky) in the color, Gothic, & an 8.00mm size L-11 hook. I think it would look sort of cool. 😉
well I have completed my project and ended up with a 66 chain at the beginning for all women who are a 2xl and up and I aso did it in two parts I did the 36 chains first and then went back and did the 30 chains like this video
Thanks for your step by step video. I don't crochet but you made it look doable and easy enough so I am trying it right now. But right now I am not understanding how you made the left sleeve for the arm to go through?
I am somewhat confused on the part where you make the arm hole... Is there anyway you could clarify? Also after you make the arm hole do you fold it in half to create the collar?? Love this piece btw it's absolutely gorgeous and cannot wait to make it..!
Hi Ruby, thank you for proving this beautiful pattern for the Katniss cowl. I have tried 3 this to make it, however I'm lost after the 10th row on where I make the sleeve, attach the shoulder and the neck. Can you please help me. Thanks Again!
Hi Ruby, your tutorial and follow along is so easy! I was wondering if you have a pattern or tutorial for just the neck kowl with a short shoulder. My 82 yr old cousin is looking for one to slip on to cover neck when the evenings are cool! thank you!
Thank you for the tutorial! My daughter and I both made this project (not at the same time). We both love the finished piece, however, mine came out much shorter - barely to my waist (and I'm petite). My daughter's came out longer and wider and she's able to use a button on the side - which looks really cool too. We can stand side-by-side and besides the collar it barely looks like the same piece. Interesting..... I don't know why they turned out this way. Could my stitches being tighter make that much of a difference? Either way, I love it, and thanks again for the tutorial.
Muchas gracias Ruby. You're the best :-) I will try this size to see how it goes for me. I'm not too sure if you can see my profile picture but in it I'm wearing a summer top I made for myself from one of your tutorials. I'm ABSOLUTELY fascinated with your work. Thanks again!
Hello Ruby....thank you so much for sharing this great pattern and teaching us how to create our own 😊. I am wondering if you have tried other yarn weight in this same pattern and if so , could you share. Thank you again!!!!!
lol I had to keep rewinding and watching the materials part over and over again because I found myself getting distracted by your beautiful nails… I kept staring at them and how intricate they are and how lovely they came out and then I realized I had been paying attention to what you said… And this happened to not only once ......not twice .......but THREE times 😂😂😂😂😂 however this pattern is GORGEOUS and I can’t wait to try it out!
Wow just watched this video, can't wait to jump in the car and buy the wool, your video is one of the best I've seen for explains everything, thanks so much for sharing, have you got a video for the knitted version as my friend ones to make one and can't crochet x
Could this be converted into a loom knit pattern? I love this but I don't know how to crochet or knit. I do have looms, though....many different sizes. I would be thrilled beyond words if I could make this on a loom! Thanks so much for your awesome videos, Ruby! I do so enjoy watching & learning from them!
I've never seen anything as unique as this. It's so feminine looking & even sexy with the one bare shoulder ;) I guess I better get busy learning crochet, huh? :)
Tami Walsh Hi Tami, here is a video on how to crochet for beginners. How To Crochet For Beginners, here you will learn the basic. and after you can make this piece. Enjoy and good luck.
Hello again, thank you so much for your prompt response I really do appreciate it. While I understand the multiple of 3 I'm not really sure how many more chains to make for a larger size XL if I chose to make 42 changes will I still be doing 10 stitches on each side with the increase in the center or do I have to do more than the 10 stitches on each side. I've purchased the yarn and ready to work but feel a little leery about getting started. Please Help :-)
Ruby Stedman Hello!Nice work!It took me some time to understand row 13 and so....If we continue increasing in row 15....will it get any bigger?i doubled a 4ply yarn
Hello, this is absolutely beautiful and your instructions are indeed very easy to follow. I just wanted to ask...do you have a pattern for this in an extra large? I did the large but when I tried it on, it was too small so I gave it as a gift.
Mine does not lay down against the body like yours does on the mani quoin ... I did everything you did exactly how you did it... What am I doing wrong ??
II started this using Bernat Chunky which says its a super bulky 6 but my first 3 rows look a lot smaller then yours. can you tell me what the first 3 rows should measure in thickness.
I tried making this, same yarn and a slightly bigger hook but either I missed a row or 2 of no increase rows or there is something missing from the video, cuz all I got was a small U shape
Beautiful!! I can't wait to make mine. Quick question , Did u make two pieces for front and back or just one an sew together ? Thanks for sharing I love your work.
Any ideas on how to stop it from getting ruffled for larger sizes? I'm starting with 42 stitches any by he time I get anywhere near finished it's ruffled instead of laying flat. Please HELP! P.S I LOVE all your patterns
the number has to be divisible by 3. I did 45 (45/3=15) so you can divide it into 3 sections for your increases. I am however, running into the same problem with it being ruffled and the shape isn't the same as hers. I'm going to finish all the rows and see how it turns out, if its not right i'll take it apart and start over with the 20 stiches that she suggests
Matt Posella, I am also working it on a chain of 45 and it is ruffling. I think it means we have too many stitches but I haven’t figured out where to take them out.

Thank You Ruby...was late when I checked video. I am on row 11.... It is 4:00 am....I will continue tomorrow !!
hehehe like me, I hardly slept last night too.

i like this video a lot but at the end there wasn't much direction as to where on the project you were working on the collar and the arm.
well I have completed my project and ended up with a 66 chain at the beginning for all women who are a 2xl and up and I aso did it in two parts I did the 36 chains first and then went back and did the 30 chains like this video
Thank you on how to make a size 2xl 🧶
What about an extra large how many chains
Thanks for your step by step video. I don't crochet but you made it look doable and easy enough so I am trying it right now. But right now I am not understanding how you made the left sleeve for the arm to go through?

Absolutely gorgeous! Please do this piece with sleeves!
I made this but like a vest, I'm uploading the English tutorial.

Hi, Ruby this piece turn out so awesome, I would like to see if possible to add length
to the side
Is this possible
For that you will have to continue with more rows, is the only way.
Ruby did you crochet a bolero that looks like this with the same kind of stitch and yarn. thank you
hi,
how did you jump from row 13 to making the collar? i didn't catch that part..can you please explain?
Hello again, thank you so much for your prompt response I really do appreciate it. It have to be 14 stiches on each side and 14 on the middle.
@Ruby Knit Crochet Can You Do A knitted Version Of Katniss’s Huntress Cowel
Thank you for sharing...
this looks luscious, thank you!
Every one don't use thick yarn like this, can you do another video with regular yarn, but I'm going to make it
Ruby Stedman Hello!Nice work!It took me some time to understand row 13 and so....If we continue increasing in row 15....will it get any bigger?i doubled a 4ply yarn
How many skeins of this yarn did you use for the large?
Hello, this is absolutely beautiful and your instructions are indeed very easy to follow. I just wanted to ask...do you have a pattern for this in an extra large? I did the large but when I tried it on, it was too small so I gave it as a gift.
Yo have to add more chains, when you do the chain measure it around your arm and make sure it is divisible by 3.
hi i was wondering if i can use a size 9 mm hook and different yarn?? thanks so much love your videos
In your other video of katniss cowl, which is beautiful off the shoulder .
Also, how would I make this a vest instead of it just on one side
How easy would it be to make this using a med 4 yarn instead of a bulky?
I tried making this, same yarn and a slightly bigger hook but either I missed a row or 2 of no increase rows or there is something missing from the video, cuz all I got was a small U shape
To make this longer how many more rows would i have to do including rows with increases
I don't think it can be done longer, with out making it to wide.
how many chains in the beginning for a 2-3xl and how do you divide because my curved part come out crunched up like I have to many double crochet
it was a nice project
Hi...Can I do it with a 9 mm hook? I started mine but it looks a lot smaller, not sure where I did wrong.
Im ok till you finish body. Noe im totally ost as to which end and which part of end you are sewing. Please help!
Could you do a video for a crochet boot cuff? All the rage out there this year!
Yes I will.:-)
That would be awesome..I am more a visual person so crocheting with you is easier for me!
Hi Ruby, how many chains do I have to make for a size small? Thanks
Can you help me understand how to increase. I am a beginner and I didnt quite get that part. thank you.
Ruby Stedman What yarn could I use as an english alternative? Thanks in advance.
This is stunning! Is there a written pattern?
No sorry only the video, :-(
I think some of us are lost after row 13.
Thanks ruby!!! Makng it now.. xo!
You are very welcome :-)
What would I have to chain for a XL
OOPS sorry Ruby, asked the question before I finished the video...2 skeins, perfect :))
Does the knit version also use 2 skeins?
Is there a written crochet pattern for this if yes where can I find it ?
How many chains would I do for an XL size? Thank you
I am about to try this project out. I was wondering would it come out looking the same if i tried it with two different colors?
I'm no sure. you can try a few rows, and see if you like it.
Ruby Stedman ok. thank you very much. I will be trying this tonight.
Good luck :-)
How many skeins do I need?
How many balls did you use?
Will this fit a XL or higher...and I love love your nails!! Thanks again!!
For XL you have to do more chains, sufficient for around the armhole multiple off 3 , and give them more rows than I did.
Hi! How many skeins of yarn should I buy for a Large?
How many skeins of the yarn do you need?
Love this!!! I've made two so far! My coworkers all asked where I bought it ;)
You should start selling them hehehe.
Im lost after riw 13. Please help !
Hi, I would love to make this for my sister. She is 17 and petite at 5' tall. What would you suggest my starting chain length be?
I really don't know because yo have to make the chain according with her arm sizes.
Beautiful
Can you please tell me how many balls of the yarn did you use? Thanks for sharing :)
I used 2x 170g of the Lion Brand Yarn Wool- Easy Thick & Quick Super Bulky 6.

Any ideas on how to stop it from getting ruffled for larger sizes? I'm starting with 42 stitches any by he time I get anywhere near finished it's ruffled instead of laying flat. Please HELP!
P.S I LOVE all your patterns

Matt Posella, I am also working it on a chain of 45 and it is ruffling. I think it means we have too many stitches but I haven’t figured out where to take them out.
I found another pattern by another user that works great for sizes X-large and up :-) I will get the user name.
Her user name is Harriet.
Zachery Bagans please let us know when you find it
Why does the number you increase by have to be multiples of 3?
