    A nice wee circuit.
    This is the first time I've been able to look at the circuit drawn out and been able to completely understand it on paper. All of It, and what each component is doing to each part of the circuit. I know it's just a simple little circuit but when you don't know it would be as well being a massive schematic drawing.
    Well happy! 😎👅

    Hello! Can anyone tell me, can I use an analogically circuit for ac 220v with another nominals of components? I need to make a simple turn off delay for door ringing. Im in Ukraine and we have problems with electricity because of war, and I created an alarm to wake up me when electricity is back. But I want a turn off timer to prevent it ringing forever if I left home and left the ringer on, forgot to turn it off.

    Hi, thanks for the video. I’ve did a similar circuit. But i have a problem with the switch button. I’m now using a latching switch button to get the LED light turn on and turn itself off after about 5secs. To do that again, I’ll have to press the latching switch button back to up position and then press it down again to activate the delay off circuit. Please advise is it possible to replace the latching switch to a momentary switch button to have the same delay off circuit? I’ve tried using a momentary switch button. But I’ll have to press and hold onto it in order to get the LED turn on and turn off itself after 5secs. How to not press and hold onto the switch? Can i email you the items i used for the circuit?

    This looks like it would do the trick to keep my aftermarket rear backup camera signal on for a few moments after the reverse is disenganged. That way, the headunit will not cut off the video signal immediately, which is a little bit annoying when manoeuvring
    Edit: not reall. I need a hard turn off, only accomplished with something like a comparator driving the MOSFET.

  • @CliveChamberlain946
    @CliveChamberlain946 6 років тому +3

    Simplicity is great! But... for high current and long time delays, do NOT use this circuit. Relay's need decent voltage to force contacts correctly. For delays >10 sec, mosfet will be in linear mode during disconnect causing greater contact arcing.

    • @Phoenix1337
      @Phoenix1337 6 років тому

      the capacitor keeps charge like a battery. there is never (Ideally) a direct connection from the 2 wires of the capacitor. Without a resistor the led would remain on (ideally)

    • @tigerseye73
      @tigerseye73 6 років тому

      Think of the resistor you refer to as a water hose, slowly draining the current ( water ) from the tank ( capacitor ) until there is none left to apply to the mosfet gate. The mosfet requires so little current to stay switched on, it would remain on for a very long time without the resistor drain. Hope this helps.

      You probably just want a buck converter module with a constant current mode - that's not the simplist way, but it is easiest, because you can buy boards with all the parts on as pre-assembled modules off a lot of eBay or Amazon sellers. Just look for 'DC-DC converter' and 'CC' and you should be in the right area.

      yes it just needs to be calculated www.allaboutcircuits.com/tools/capacitor-Charge-and-time-constant-calculator/ for high current applications however not realy, the relay requires a good current to stay open. if you want your house light to stay on for instance go to a electronics store and get a proper timer.
