This was "originally" released in 2006 actually. This is the 2014 remaster as you noticed. It's wild how Chakra X improved the effects.

I remember watching this while the parts were releasing on newgrounds and having to wait for part 2,3 to come out. Such hype as a kid. Still rewatch it or the sticknodes remake every so often for nostalgia.
And even before Nazo Unleashed came out there was Power of Nazo that released in 2004.
Absolutely no judgment for you not seeing this till when you finally did. It was so heartwarming to get to see someone react to this for the first time.

His world is nice but I prefer the orchestral version :/
One thing i did noticed is that, when sonic turned dark, he used the negative energy from the chaos emeralds, The reason why he became Super Sonic seconds after, is probably because the positive energy of the chaos emeralds is stronger than the negative one, just wanted to clear that out for anyone wondering why that happend.
Actually no negative energy is stronger BUT as explained via annotations when this first came out due to the use of negative energy sonic's dark form could never truly defeat nazo, also (at least in fan-made animations) sonic can't keep up his dark form for long while super sonic (at least in the games) can be sustained infinitely as long sonic has a constant supply of rings.

That's not it. Canonically and according from what we have, Dark Sonic uses CONTROLLED rage in which can make him even stronger than the normal Super Sonic. One problem is that Nazo uses negative energy aswell, so even if Dark Sonic does great damage or use attacks better than the super ones, it wont affect Nazo, proving Super Sonic stronger against him. It's not because Super Sonic is stronger, its because Nazo is immune to the negative energy.
@@Apache730 umm no, Negative Energy is weaker than Positive Energy and can be neutralized as well. this was explained and shown in battle all the way back in 1998

There is a third-party seaqul called "the return of nazo" but it is a significantly lower quality and seems unfinished despite being released years ago
it takes place after sonic x and long after sa 2.
since nazo was a character from sonic x ending teaser, which we now know is hyper sonic.
Fun fact: before annotations we’re removed, it was explained dark sonic couldn’t defeat nazo because they were both comprised of negative energy. I think you can still find those annotations on supernardfuls reaction video.

Here’s a fun fact: Nazo is not an OC. He actually first appeared in the first teaser trailer for Sonic X where “Nazo” was shown at the end of the trailer. Nobody knows what “Nazo” was supposed to be in Sonic X. The most common theory is that he was supposed to be a new form for Sonic. Shadow actually doesn’t have a super form it’s his hyper form
Wrong. I don't know why his original Super form in SA2 was a creamish white color, but I believe they started making it yellow/gold after they warped the arc. At the very least, it was the proper Super color in his own game, and was that color in all other media Super Shadow was used in (namely Sonic X). Shadow doesn't have a Hyper form in any form of "canon". Not even Sonic has that anymore since Sega wants to pretend like that never existed outside of keeping it a reward in S3&K.
Also even then, that form didn't even look like Hyper. Hyper is pure white when it's not alternating between a bunch of other colors (of the Chaos Emeralds). The so-called "Hyper" Shadow in SA2 didn't look like that.
