I love hot hatches, but I have to agree with Brian here. The "grin" is just awkward. I'd rather have the less powerful, but better-looking, GTI. Hopefully, the next-gen MS3 will be a little more aggressive-looking.
People say the front of the new Mazda looks like a clown smiling at you. I agree, only that it looks like the Clown from I.T. giving you a devilish grin right before it devours you! Fucking awesome car! A+ Mazda!
@MangoSmoothie16 you can also disable the torque management at start up which will give you full boost through 1-3 and no TC/DSC. I think C&D had it around 5.6 for the 2010, which I think is slightly slower that the Gen 1. But the Gen 2 is quicker at the 1/4 mile (Gen 2 = 14.1 vs the Gen 1 = 14.2.) The power band tops out at ~5600-5800 rpm so yeah they prob tried to drive it like a Honda lol
I thought you were giving credit where credit was due until the pickup truck line. I think we can both agree that they are both great cars at least, just very different. I keep reading that the speed 3 is 0-60 between 6.3-6.5 seconds though
0-60 is actually not far off, the MS3 does it in 5.9. that's impressive for a car with that much cargo room. the mustang isn't in the same car class as the mazda. but yeah the mustang is faster, its faster than pickup trucks too, lol.
That does help. And honestly I really like the car, but for me it just rides a bit too stiff, then again that being said I was pretty much driving a cloud on wheels, aka grandparents crown vic haha
This Yanks does not know sportscars. The Speed3 is very sporty! It will also beat most all cars built in the colonies, except one, the chevrolay corabeth. The corabeth has a huge v8 engine and a fibreglass body, and even though the yanks built it, it can still out accelerate the mazda (a 4cylinder stationwagon). But, it just barely beats the mazda. Fair is fair, so I thought I would mention it. This mazda is one of the fastest best handling cars for under $25000 in the world.

I almost bought a speed 3 a couple of years ago and it was a great car (and great looking with the previous body style).I now have a 2012 mustang v6 with the performance package and it costed less than the speed 3. The mustang will embarass this car in everything. 0-60 in 5.5,1/4 mile in 13.7 at 102mph it pulls harder on the skid pad,gets better gas milage and the speed 3 would be left in the dust at the track.Learn before you insult "yanks" cars because you sound like an idiot

i agree. i have a normal 3 and i think the "face" gives it a sportier look. That being said i guess i like it because i am only 19

@TheDarthCarloos yeah... 0to60times has it at 5.1. They probably redlined it and didnt short shift like they should have.
It is hard to manage all of that torque with only FWD and not AWD vehicle And Mazda knew this!

Ehh. Its affordable performance. You can get a base Mazdaspeed 3 and just add the tech you want via the aftermarket.

mustang is good at going fast in a straight line, but compare it with a MS3 on a track and so much for "embarass this car in everything".
