The dash board on the 2010 Mazda 3 is on recall. Over time in the heat the dashboard melts...meaning it oozes a sticky resin which is shinny. Lexus had a similar issue which they recalled. Call the dealer with the VIN and go in. They will verify car is covered by the recall and then order the part. You will need to leave the car for a day while they replace the dash with the new part.
Im sick and tired of people who complain it does not have a gps like can't they get a phone with gps and buy a stand for it thats what I do and my galaxy s4 is more accurate then the gps that cars have I want a car that is fun to drive with a manual and has alot of power like the 2.5l mazda or 2.3 mazdaspeed3 who cares about the tech im old school lol im only 15 so dont call me old XD
Well that's an issue you should be concerned about. That's not a characteristic of the car, I test drove a 2012 SE 6AT and love it for the way it looks and drives but I'm not sure if I should get it due to all the problems Ford has been having lately with the MyFordTouch system and certain build quality issues throughout the lineup. I need something soon to replace my Maxima with 325k lol.
I am not concerned at all. First you need to remember that the transmission in the Focus isn't a traditional automatic, it is a dual clutch so there is no torque converter. The transmission is acting almost like a traditional manual when taking off from a light. Furthermore, I have no problem accelerating smoothly from a stop. The issue is when in stop and go traffic, someone slows down abruptly and the accelerates quickly after. That is the only time I have experienced rough shifts
04:26 when you said focus are you referring to the 2012 year model with Sony speakers, or the equivalent 2010 model? Oddly, sound quality in car stereo is something of importance to me. Thanks.
Mazda 3 for performance minded driver Focus for good interior feature and style Elentra for good value and style civic for good honest ride corolla for soft comfortable ride
i have been driving my dad's Hyundai sonata 2012 for a bit before picking a 2010 mazda 3 S. The review is right, but he says it in a much nicer way than I would. I considered driving the hyundai boring, where as the bumps in my mazda are fun. i feel like i am driving. i guess it my buyer's blinders, since many others feel different.
i had the 6 speed manual version of thus car with a gunmetal gray mettalic flake paint job and tinted windows and i painted the stock 17 inch 6 spoke mazda rims black. It was a gorgeous and extremely quick little car. Some old guy t boned me in it at an intersection because he blew through a stop sign. That was 2 years ago last week, and i miss that car so much. The sojnd system was great if you tweaked tge settings, and that thing was ungodly quick for a car with 170 hp, and it handled so good that you couldn't spin out unless you were stupid.
I like the looks and I'm someone who like a driver's car and that's what this car is. I think I could live with the firmer ride and extra noise as a trade off for better handling.
Just letting you know that not all Focus owners out there are having problems. I've owned a 2012 Focus SE automatic since October and honestly other than a little hesitation from the transmission in heavy stop-and-go traffic, I don't have one complaint about the car. I also have only been to the dealer once and that was for basic maintenance (Oil, fluids, and filter change, tire rotation, etc.)
I bet you don't have it now in 2022, they do not last over time, I have a manual standard transmission 2012 focus with low kilometers, only 74,000 and the steering rack had to be replaced costing over 2 thousand Aussie dollars and the heater core has failed, it's also a rust bucket with bubbles appearing on the bottom of the doors, mine is a manual gearbox but the cutch tends to slip when cold until it warms up
I'm buying a 2012 Mazda 3 hatchback to replace my 2010 ford focus ses because my transmission crapped out in and being honest the Mazda seems to better put together with a better build quality , my focus has a ton of hard plastic including the whole dash and lol the focus is not that fast at all . I've owned mine since new and I admit I've never raced it but highway travel the car is not as fast once it gets past 65 mph . Hopefully I have better luck with the Mazda 3 .
Nice! My dad was very close to buying a Mazda 3 but went with a Jetta instead. I like them both but I think the Jetta feels a little more upscale and drives a little smoother and I like the less dramatic styling but the mazda does look a little more fun and its cheaper.
I could see where you are coming from. The Mazda feels quicker off the line bc of the torque. I disagree about it feeling disconnected, it may be a bit more isolated but you get a softer ride in return but its still sporty. Especially if you go with a Titanium with the handling package
Quit calling me biased jeez lol I just think the Ford is more refined and mature and thats what I prefer, if you like the Mazda more than its your choice, to each their own. Have you driven the Focus yet and compared them side by side? Do that and you may see where I am coming from.
I just found out that the dealer I work at has a 2010 Mazda 3 s hatchback in black with the 6-speed. I really wanna trade mine in on it, but I probably wouldnt get crap for it.
I owned mazda 3 ...i bought it brand new ..the only issue i had is the detoration of the dash ...so i decided to sell it asap before it get worse ...now i own an mx5 :)
I tried asking my local Mazda dealership and they said it ended couple years ago I’m wondering are they required to fix it? It really sucks when it gets hot it gets sticky so I bought a dashmat to cover it but still I feel like they should fix it
(cont.) After the intitial break in period. Overall I am very satisfied with the transmission. And if you are still worried, buy a manual and you won't have any issues at all. Overall I love my car and would choose it again in a heartbeat. Let me know if you have any other questions
What!!! You were showing us a model with dual climate control and now you're driving one with normal heater controls and it looks red when you're driving down the road I'm getting a glimpse of red on the hood so you showed us two different cars but the same car may I ask why?
The title states that it is a test drive and review but the way you are complaining and comparing things to the ford makes it almost more like a comparison. I came to hear about the Mazda and not a Ford.
Does anyone know how or if I can adjust the time at with my automatic lights come on on my 2010 mazda 3? They usually come on when the place is too bright
I have a 2012 Mazda 3 without skyactiv and my friend just got a 2012 one with skyactiv and I like my transmission better than the new skyactiv it holds gears to long I think and it shifts really hard
@7:12 I want that Focus in the background! Lol. Never really a huge fan of the 3. Sedan is kinda girly, and I don't like the way the hatch looks, though its better for 2012. Plus gas milage SUCKS for a compact sedan. Great review nonetheless.
Lol I didn't mean it in a rude way, I get all excited over new cars too. I personally think the focus feels disconnected from the road. I don't like the artificial steering. And it feels fat when accelerating
believe it or not, the corolla is one of my solid choices. if i were to chose a compact car, and i had trouble chosing one id take the corolla instantly. im a toyota person even though they suck in quality. now thats just me. the only reason is that basically the compact segment is domnated by hyundai/ford. im ok with ford but the focus looks too round for me. then i just hate korean cars with some acceptions lol
I almost bought the 2012 edition of this car in Indigo Lights Pearl. But the price seemed a little high ($26,395), mileage was a bit low (22/29), and 5-speed auto. Didn't want the skyactiv. Plus the new one didn't have those new gauges, it has these ugly grey and light blue ones. Frankly tho, at the price of the 2.5, I'd rather just get the Speed 3.
Not my favorite car from Mazda. I never really saw the point of this. It's basically like every other compact car. The first gen looked like a rebadged corolla. This is a nice car though but I'd rather take a corolla.
*sigh* once again, this completely different car review was flooded with Focus references. -_- starting to bug me. Perhaps just review the car for what it is, instead of having a hidden comparison filling up the video.
I feel like all he did was bash this car against a focus. Lets not forget with the focus it averages around 2 grand more in like every level compared to the mazda. U can get the same features in the mazda for a lot cheaper than a focus
that is soo not true, I give other makes a chance too, I just personally think the Focus feels better than "this" mazda3, I may feel differently in a 2012 model
you sound like a fanboy thats mad cause the ford is better, ive been a chevy guy all my life even drive a corvette now but im planning on buying a 2013 focus ST because it is an amazing car. he does a good job making video reviews dont get butt hurt over it...
The point of this car is to be a sporty compact amongst the sea of dull and boring compacts, especially the Corolla. You should lay off whatever you're taking because the last sentence is one of the most absurd I've seen!
This guy loves ford its strting to get annoying. Love the reviews just wish ge would stop compaeing everything to ford and open up to more conpanies. Like vw, honda, chrysler, gm cars but just not ford all the time
You have to put the key in the ignition ? Manually? However will you survive??
Lmao
My previous car was a push to start, and there’s something more satisfying about turning the key 😂😂

I love the steering feel in mazdas. It's light like a corolla, but extremely precise.
