@Özlem Baspinar That's fair enough, but tbh Hera isn't an Evil Goddess,in fact her actions are justified and i think they still should have added the Peacocks as a way to show that even a Nice Goddess can do terrible things.
@Özlem Baspinar Also, peacocks are kind of obvious out in the open so she probably would've been spotted by Zeus or at least anyone that knew right away.
Her older and ugly appearance was the result of Kratos killing every God, diminishing the life force on Olympus. There are murals of her where she is beautiful in the game
@@savagedarksider5934 Yeah, but God of War creators didn't wanted to make her character beautiful. They made her more of a drunken burned out cheated Aunt to make her "annoying" and unlikable so you get happy when you kill her. Of course in the Myths she's extremely beautiful (possibly the most beautiful only second to Aphrodite).
i dont like how hera punished those zeus mistresses and their children (also keep in mind that many of his lovers are raped and in unconsensual relationship with zeus, which only further adds to their suffering) but in mythology, at first hera indeed tried to bring her anger to zeus and it ended very badly. he hangs hera in the sky, tied heavy anvils on her feet and will release her only after she apologizes. hephaestus and ares, hera's sons and other gods begging for zeus to let go of her but he refused. she cried all night for her husband's mercy and eventually zeus released her though, with one condition that she would never even dare to try against him again. since then, hera decided to cast her wrath on zeus lovers and his illegitimate children. also in the beginning, it was zeus who madly in love with hera and determined to marry her but hera kept rejecting his proposal because she wasnt interested in his wandering eyes (yeah she knew from the start). so zeus tricked hera by disguising himself as a wounded and rain-soaked cuckoo, hera then saw the poor bird and brought it to her shelter. zeus immediately returned to his true from and then... raped her, he shamed hera into marrying him. poor all these women.
Zues made hera swear by the river styx that she would not revolt against him so that is all hera can really do is punish his lovers and offspring (at least that is the case in actual mythology)
Yeah, let's be fair, the myths were codified by an extremely misogynistic culture. There's a reason the wise Athena was jealous enough to be baited by Arachne, and Aphrodite was consistently shown to be short-sighted and flighty. There's a reason there are so few Greek *heroines* outside of Atalanta and some powerhouses like Medea and Circe, while the vast majority of mythical mortal women are princesses who marry heroes, princesses who mother heroes and princesses who are abducted or raped by heroes and gods.
@@etcetera1995 Now to be fair, most Greek myth is basically Athenian fanfiction. As in, IIRC, literally all Greek myths that we know of today are based on the oral traditions of Athens. Just the audacity of him, must have been one of his powers.
Zeus may have been an asshole with his cheating but that’s the reason behind his marriage with Hera (although almost every god/goddess did that). Hera represent marriage and Zeus is a cheater. That’s like yin and yang representation. Don’t forget that this is a *RELIGION* not a book. People worshipped these gods and they showed how revengeful they could get if angered (showing their “humanity”). After saying this u need to understand that although Zeus was a bad husband he was still a pretty reasonable king and god. @@youmode562 then he shouldn't have asked to marry her, he doesn't love her so he should've gone for someone else, not Hera! and Zeus wasn't reasonable, he raped Hera and forced her to marry him when he knew he won't love her enough
@@treasureikpea man why are u guys trying so hard to talk about this topic without reading myths or some REAL source. The fact first of all is that this is not a fantasy book for kids. This was a *RELIGION* . The reason behind a god with cheating inclinations married to a goddes who represented the marriage itself is the representation (you could say) of the two sides of the same coin. (A yin yang representation) A royal divine couple that was very human. A cheating husband and an enraged wife. (Btw if I’m not wrong she is his second wife). Second of all Zeus raping Hera is just one of the many myths like Persephone hating hades and being there without her consent. (Btw if u want to know Persephone is the biggest cheater in the pantheon. Read some source material and you will understand why. Type “Adonis”😂) this myth is weird because after the rape hera decided to marry him even though she was just raped (different ideologies during that time maybe lol 😂). But leaving aside that...like i said before there are many versions. The one most acclaimed is the one in which he transforms in a bird and makes her fall in love with him so that he can marry her. He had many lovers and was loved by people in the myths and as a god in real life. Even though you would like to see him like a barbaric guy who drunk and fucked all day he was one of the best gods in the pantheon (even though he cheated and fucked multiple women like pretty much every god).
I mean, Zeus fell in love with Hera, ripped her and forced the marriage. A few years later, he brokes up with her and she became more and more powerful and Zeus is to blame.
This is a pretty bad representation of the Olympians. Its like the makers said hey I like God of War and castlevania let's smash them together to make an edgy story about Greek Myths without portraying them besides making Hera Queen of the simp filled Olympians. Like whats next is Hades going to be another allegory for Satan?
I like the character of Hera in this series very much. She represents so well for feminine, no offence, good and bad side. She is beautiful, intelligent, attracting, cunning, cruel, passionate, fierce, powerful, sophisticated, skillful in dipomacy, jelous and so sexy. She does everything to protect her marriage and she's insane because of that.
Honestly, I don't blame her for what she did. Killing innocent children and women may have been her crime, but Zeus never did approach her for it. This man was just straight disrespectful and never fulfilled his marriage oaths. Being the Goddess of Marriage and experiencing it herself, that must have hurt her badly.
I just rewatched the series and I must say that it kinda irks me that Hera was portrayed as antagonistic and manipulative while Zeus gets to be redeemed at the end even though his actions caused all this mess. You can see that Hera has been keeping to herself until 1:18 when Zeus tells her that he loves Electra, and she cracks.

i like how every goddess and god look exactly how i would envision them. the artists did an amazing job!! apollo, hermes, and hera are my favorite character designs!!
Irony here is: All the Olympians sucked one way or another and they were all selfish. The only that came close to being decent was Hades. Yes, he kidnapped his wife, who was also his niece, bound her to the Underworld forever...but he never did anything more to hurt her. He stayed faithful to her, protected her from those who selfishly wanted her, never forced her to bear children, even allowed her to be with mom half the year. Hera never had that kind of respect from Zeus.
Hestia was pretty good too. When a satyr was about to assault her while she was sleeping, a donkey brayed and woke her. She called the other gods and they ALL showed up and beat his ass. She gently rejected both Apollo and Posiedon, who respected the choice and on the whole, she's one of the few goddesses (apart from Aphrodite) to be worshipped by every member of society because the home and hearth were and are so important.
That’s right. Greek gods meant to represent the human psyche- our greatness, but also our flaws. Zeus was a great king, but he was incontrollable and lustful. Hera was a wonderful queen, but her anger always overcome her. Same with the other gods like Athena for example, who was wise but also proud and sometimes irrational. For me, Hestia was the kindest and calmest god but she is severely underestimated and usually underrated.

And Hades let her go as well and also he had already given her the underworld fruit telling her that if she wishes to see him anytime sooner she can eat it .. during her journey back to the olympus she ate it just to check whether it works and since she ate it in the underworld itself she had to stay there as per the underworld rule that anybody who eats the fruit there has to stay there . Even though after all these Hades let her meet her mother once in six month .. no wonder why Persephone had fallen for him ..Gem of Gods ! And they married eventually . You can clearly see Hera’s diverse powers : power of mind control and illusion when she manipulated Seraphim and got into his head multiple times, she can shapeshift and here we saw her turned into crows/raven but also she took Hermès and Alexia’s appearance, telekinesis powers shown when she lifted boulders, rocks, humans, the giants and variant objects, telepathy shown when she communicate through her mind and not with her mouth or when she sens the presence of someone disguised/invisible around her and I think she controls the crows/raven through her telepathic powers, she can control the sky, the wind and the atmosphere, shown when she used the wind to send Alexia’s cloth cover she used to cover and hide, back to Elektra’s hiding place to lead the demons to Elektra, when she argued with Zeus and get angry the sky got darker, we can assume the atmosphere got heavier and she caused a wind storm around her, we saw her throwing things at Zeus by using the wind and not her telekinetic powers (there was no purple aura on the projectiles), she wan fly and something really cool, intimidating and powerfully magnificent is when her voice got distorted to communicate anger, authority, power and dominion, she is the Queen of the heavens, Queen of Olympus and Queen of the gods indeed. Zeus was only seen using his lightning and thunder power, his shapeshift powers when he turned into an eagle and the old man at the beginning and his flying power and he grew some flowers to help Alexa hide. In the myths, every Greek gods are immortal, can shapeshift, can bless or curse someone or another god when needed but Zeus’s major power is the lightning bolt and the thunder and so for that he is a sky god. Hera on the other hand inherited her mother’s title and dominion over the heavens, Hera was Queen of the heavens and the goddess of the sky and the stars because she created the Milky Way, du to that she can contrôle the sky, the wind and the atmosphere, bless or curse an entire nation with clear sky or curse them with a dark, stormy sky and heavy atmosphere, Hera was shown to use her telepathic and illusion powers, for exemple on Heracles, she got into his head, twisted his mind with illusions and turned him mad leading him to kill his family, and her influence powers were shown too for she is the goddess of political influence and authority, when she plot a rebellion against Zeus and led the other gods to betray Zeus or when she forbidden the goddesses to help Leto get birth etc… Zeus was the king of Olympus but Hera was the Queen goddess of the Heavens and Queen of Olympus. So Hera >>>>>>>>>> Zeus
@@jofr3227 No, the old man who helped Heron, was also Zeus. Zeus also visited Serphim, and it was shown that he also can make stuff fly or stop them mid-air
No, she may not controlled what happened to herself. She ruined the lives of those innocent people women and children. I don't feel sorry for her. It's understandable why she is not justable what she is doing.
Just want to make it straight, very straight: 1) When you are disloyal and disrespectful, and in this case, you show magnificent infidelity, there are bound to be consequences. 2) As a wife, Hera does what needs to be done. If she were a mortal, then she would have other ways as every other woman does. She can be smartly patient and tolerant (which she is, for a long long time), or active and decisive even in a cruel way. Because she is a God, she does what God has the power to do. 3) You blame her for killing the innocents. Very true. No one says she is a saint. However, there is no smoke without fire. 4) At the scene of Zeus' sacrifice, Hera remembered distinctly the moment Zeus saved her from the past. This means that her love for Zeus is immortal just as they are. I believe in the second season, such love will manifest in a more compassionate and empathetic way. This is a way of true love and how a woman truly loves her husband. There is usually forgiveness, and in the event of death, negative feelings will fly away. Only the good memories are left, or at least, the woman will try to think of her dead husband in the good past old days. 5) Note that this is not the first time Zeus is such a lecherous man. He did it so so many times and gave birth to a bunch of other gods or half-breeds. Hence, this is like the last straw for Hera. Love is blind, so Hera made a mistake and it cost her the death of the man she is deeply in love. But in the end, she is the victim, and victim should be pitied rather than condemned. I love the first season, and am excitedly for the second one. I heard there are five seasons outlined. People say that this show is full of drama, but I think it is very "life" in its own way. In a nutshell, the first season is about a woman who tries to protect her family and ends up killing her biggest happiness. Is it life? I think so.
I really like this analysis. I do believe, that no matter how angry Hera gets and no matter how many others Zeus has loved, their love will always remain eternal. The real reason why Hera finally snapped was because Zeus actually fell in love with Electra, hence why he is so attentive towards her and Heron. All of her patience and tolerance towards her husband's infidelities had reached its breaking point. Hera becoming villain in the series was inevitable. But in the end, despite how he treated her, everything was made clear to her from Zeus's sacrifice. But like all sympathized villains (Hera) and morally flawed heroes (Zeus), they have to face the consequences of their actions. Seraphim included.
I can’t wait to see the next seasons and I hope Hera Queen of the heavens will be back, with her arm, fully healed like it was never being cut and I wanna see her back on the throne of Olympus

I just finished watching the show all in one day and let me say: the soundtracks that play and the whole epicness of everything was so good that I kept rewatching scenes over and over; I can kinda relate to Hera (not justifying her by any means) the same exact way and in every aspect shown in this series, I too reacted in similar ways just at the thought of my "ex" betraying me and when I found out he really did then I turned complete evil with no care for morals or compassion, just filled with the desire to get revenge; Hera, just like me, in the end cried for loosing the person who hurt and wronged us because we remembered some very memorable moments of our lives (for me it was the first time that I met my ex and almost fell in love instantly with him since he was the only one who didn't treat me as if I didn't exist). And yeah, she shouldn't have made innocent people suffer even though it was only Zeus' fault, even if he was polyromantic or whatever, lust does not justify hiding what you do.
Well the story behind Zeus' lovers is literally the whole meaning of local greek mythologies. Basically every child of Zeus is a mythical ansestor of a city or a portion of people and the point was that the hero was usually a demi-god (thus having connections to both humans and gods) or some known hero helped by a god. Zeus was perceived as the most powerful so it was necessity for Greeks of a certain city to have an ansestor that was an offspring of the most powerful god ever so yeah Zeus came out as the number one player that simply created kids everywhere. But he wasn't the only one having all the fun. i dont like how hera punished those zeus mistresses and their children (also keep in mind that many of his lovers are raped and in unconsensual relationship with zeus, which only further adds to their suffering) but in mythology, at first hera indeed tried to bring her anger to zeus and it ended very badly. he hangs hera in the sky, tied heavy anvils on her feet and will release her only after she apologizes. hephaestus and ares, hera's sons and other gods begging for zeus to let go of her but he refused. she cried all night for her husband's mercy and eventually zeus released her though, with one condition that she would never even dare to try against him again. since then, hera decided to cast her wrath on zeus lovers and his illegitimate children. also in the beginning, it was zeus who madly in love with hera and determined to marry her but hera kept rejecting his proposal because she wasnt interested in his wandering eyes (yeah she knew from the start). so zeus tricked hera by disguising himself as a wounded and rain-soaked cuckoo, hera then saw the poor bird and brought it to her shelter. zeus immediately returned to his true from and then... raped her, he shamed hera into marrying him. poor all these women.
Zues made hera swear by the river styx that she would not revolt against him so that is all hera can really do is punish his lovers and offspring (at least that is the case in actual mythology)
I’ve always felt awful for Hera and I hate any movie or show that tries to sympathize with Zeus
Zeus is only powerful because he was born last, otherwise he wouldn't be shit
As in, IIRC, literally all Greek myths that we know of today are based on the oral traditions of Athens. zeus is just straight up disrespectful.
He was a power angry and easily irritable man but he was still one of the best god in the pantheon. Hera instead was a bitch who killed/tortured his bastards and his lovers.she had her nice moments but she was mainly represented as a revengeful being. Read the myths and you will understand (*not the fanfictions*). There are many version of a same story... saying that he raped her is a version, in another he made her fall in love with her. Another popular example is hades and Persephone (another light/dark representation). In some myths she was tricked by hades and hated him, in others she loved him and chose to be there. The point is that although Zeus is a bad husband he at least Is way more reasonable than Hera who was one of the worst god/goddess in the pantheon even though all of them were revengeful and were way more “human” than humans themselves.
Quite frankly I think Monogamy should be different for immortals

Just want to make it straight, very straight:
1) When you are disloyal and disrespectful, and in this case, you show magnificent infidelity, there are bound to be consequences.
Hera is the embodiment of a thin line between love and hate

This is a comment made by someone who never read the myths . After saying this u need to understand that although Zeus was a bad husband he was still a pretty reasonable king and god. He was a power angry and easily irritable man but he was still one of the best god in the pantheon.

No, he married her for kids. She’s his sister, and having kids with another powerful god would yield powerful children. It’s disgusting, but she actually married him for fame, not the other way around lol.
@@marvingray9758 She deadass said before they were married she was queen so I'm sticking to my opinion (I know how the original story is) also why cheat on her especially when she basically gave you everything and as for them getting married and siblings if you read your history you would find out that you had to be with a family member to keep the bloodline strong

I feel so bad for Hera. Her own domain is marriage and devotion. For Zeus to constantly break it with her is more horrifying than it is. Girl, you can rule the heavens by yourself. Kick that man out of it.
Actually Hera is a sky goddess having dominion over the sky and all it’s forms (cloud, wind, light, storms etc..) she’s goddess of divine authority and power, goddess of women, Queen of the heavens then she became also the goddess of mariage, wives and motherhood after her mariage to that bastard who became himself king of the gods and she is Queen of the gods because in that time women couldn’t lead alone and be superior to men…

Whatever your thoughts towards "Blood of Zeus" and the mythological adaptations may be, you can't deny that she is a gorgeous Hera.
Sometimes I don't understand Zeus, man. I guess eternity might be too much even for a god.
Dame u got to admit Hera in blood of Zeus is amazingly beautiful 😤😍😤😍😤😍
Heras beauty is said to only be topped by Aphrodite and rivalled by Athena
my friends asked me what Blood of Zeus is about and I just told them "it's when Hera finally snaps"
That's not inaccurate lol.
Why would Zeus sleep with anyone else clearly he has a prize if I had a wife that looked like that I would never even leave the house
Poseidon had countless lovers too and children, Apollo had lovers too (both men and women) and Hermes too, Ares had more kids that he could count definitely and some goddesses like Aphrodite are not far behind...so yeah...talk about "open relationships" XD
@@katerinaaqu that's why Hera wants to kill Zeus?
@@emmabarros2837 Well they are immortal they cannot get killed 😂
But usually Hera kills his lovers and children. Once she tried to dethrone him with the help of Poseidon and failed.
I think generally Hera is pro ayed as a woman who respects what marriage is and demands her husband to do the same. When he doesn't she gets jealous and angry. But she is known of going livid in occasions like when Zeus had Athena who was stronger than her own crippled son Hephestus so there is also her hurt pride that takes over at times
Because she may in theory be the prettiest, but at her heart she's a monster a la Cersei Lannister. Not that Zeus is any better.

@@sonofthechosenone4335 You kidding me? Hera and Camilla would absolutely despise each other but I can see Hera having a soft spot for Dracula because of his love and loyalty for Lisa

@@sonofthechosenone4335 Honestly, I feel Dracula would be disgusted at Zeus for cheating on Hera. Camilla on the other hand...
I sympathize with her rage. It’s not just that Zeus cheated on her hundreds of times. It’s that many of those times, he did so with a substantially lesser species. Imagine having a husband that cheated on you with apes.
In fact, come to think about it, the Olympian battles against the Titans and Giants seem to take place before life evolved on land. Meaning the Olympians *saw* humanity evolve from apes. Goodness, how disgusting and humiliating that must be for Hera.
All that said, she went way to far with the Giants. Wanting to kill Zeus, I can understand. If I were Zeus, I’d forgive her even for stabbing me in the neck and leaving me to bleed out. But condemning Olympos to near certain doom by resurrecting the Giants? She should have been executed for that.
