As much as I love your passport setup, you need to do what works for you and makes you happy. Popular or not, at the end of the day, it’s about you and we’re just here to share your journey. The falling star cover is just too cute!!! I went with the tiny Dragons this year and a Sangria in my weeks. I’m still going with the Passport again because you gave me planner peace with that modular system. LOL and then for my constant it’s going to be my ride or die the Hobonichi A5 in the botanical HON. The fact that the cover is floral makes me so happy and all my flower drawings are going to look amazing in it.
I think going for the choice that best aligns with your wants is also what makes for the best content. 👍Might be an unpopular opinion, but imo you can really tell when creators only pick up a new system because there's hype for it. I don't necessarily judge them for it (we all want to try out the new hot thing sometimes), but as a viewer it can be really unsatisfying to see the entire planner-sphere recycle a single system and aesthetic for months because it's what went viral recently. 😞(And then a lot of them switch back to their old things just as you get used to it, double irritating.) Bullet journaling is great, even now that I've moved into a Hobonichi Weeks Mega I still find myself using parts of my old bujo system. I'm really enjoying the "hybrid" of planner in the front, bujo in the notes pages. Your bujo vids always give me a boost of inspiration, so I'm happy they're sticking around for 2024. 💛
I'll be bullet journaling in an A6 Hobonichi plain notebook next year. Your pocket bullet journal is actually my favorite of your systems and gives me the most inspiration!
As a total bujo newbie, I must say that your modular system is what appeals to me the most! I want a dedicated space for work, daily use, and journaling/memory keeping and having all of these things in one is too much for me! Of the jazillion bujo videos I have viewed this last week, yours is by far the most helpful in giving me peace of mind that my intuition about my journal(s) needs and set up may actually work and is best for me! Thank you!
If you're a bujo newbie then you should start minimalistic. I tried and failed a few times to bujo because I was doing too much. But once I tried the minimalistic way in A6 I was able to create the habit and then I added things here and there. And like you, I've ended up with 2 bujos and I rarely miss a day.
I tend to pick the unpopular planners too! I love that you are going with what makes you feel most creative. I’m reading the artists way right now and trying to cultivate that more artistic carefree inner child/artist. I’ve got a Franklin planner for personal and work productivity and a w222 for my creativity whatever that looks like.then a simple half used composition notebook for morning pages. We have a zillion and a half half used composition notebooks that my kids use in school so it’s my mission to use what I have in 2024 and shop my stash!!!
Really love your set-up. Bullet journaling has always been the most functional for me but I keep being tempted by Hobonichi products and Wonderland 222. After my BuJo, the thing I love the most is the Weeks. You’re helping me make my final decisions for 2024, so thanks. Happy Planning with your set up! ❤
I love that you know what you enjoy and you're sticking with what works for you! Having one constant notebook and switching around in others seems like a great idea since you like the setup process. Always enjoy hearing your thoughts on notebooks - thanks for sharing!
I also find peace in the bullet journal. I like the idea of a one book system for the year, but then I get worried about bulk because I like stickers and washi. It prevents me from using the stickers and washi. I have an a6, weeks, LT1917 a6, Jibun days, and PMC pocket all with the same information because I can’t decide what to use. I feel like I settle on a system and then I watch a video and change my mind 😢. I really like setting up new planners and changing my layout based on what I need. The LT1917 is my favorite paper and I feel very free in the notebook. I don’t worry about handwriting and don’t feel nervous to whip it out in public because is so small. I use stickers and washi without concern of bulk because I will be setting up a new notebook in a few months.
I can see that you carefully thought about this. I'm also thinking of using a bullet journal for next year. Probably will revisit a Stalogy as my journal/commonplace book. Ultimately, we all need to use what makes us happy, even if it's not the popular choice ❤.
I love that you picked the bujo! And don’t worry that it’s not “the popular choice”! You need to do what makes you happy and not worry about anyone else!
I think a bullet journal will be perfect for moving because I know I've used a ton of lists when I've moved. Plus writing down so many details... yeah a bujo is my favorite way to go.
Hi, Lindsey! It feels so good hearing about wanting to switch planners and looking forward to a fresh setup when running out of pages. 🥺 I used to convince myself that I should stick to one planner for a year--and I do, even when it no longer works for me. But you inspire me ❤ I'm trying to learn a new mindset where I convince myself to pursue what works for me and simply let go of what doesn't. Thank you 😊
What a great line up!! I'm going to continue my bullet journal/planner hybrid for 2024, which has worked for so many years now. I would echo everything you said about your bullet journal. The flexibility, the unlimited pages, getting to change notebooks periodically, etc. It's just great! and I'm a big fan of your pocket bullet journal btw. ❤
Also an A6/pocket Leuchtturm fan. It's what comes with me on vacation and trips because it fits perfectly into a small pouch with a couple of pens and a small paint or colored pencil set. The rest of the year it just sits in that pouch, waiting. Because I don't have appointments or tasks on holiday, I journal (text and drawings) about my day, places visited etc.
QUESTION: how do you decide what to take with you on daily outings, e.g, coffeehouse, library, church? I’m having trouble “deciding” what stays home vs travels with me. Do you hand carry your notebook, use a backpack, messenger, etc?
I’m glad you went with the setup you wanted as opposed to what’s popular. There is only one person whose vote matters, and that’s you! Looking forward to seeing how you use your setup in the coming year (and the rest of this year ☺️)
I always go back to a bullet journal style set-up as well, it's the only thing that gives me the flexibility that I need in my life. As my priorities and focuses shift, I have the freedom to change, cut out or bring in new spreads, sketch designs, track my health, or go bare bones during hectic times. There is just no printed planner that gives me that kind of freedom.
Yes! Do what works best for you! Beautiful line up. I'll be going with the A5 HON as my only book for 2024 (planning on the monthlies, bullet journaling on the weeklies and memory keeping/diary on the dailies). Wish me luck as I have a rather hectic year ahead of me 😅😅
Hey Lindsey 😄 I’m also a big Leuchtturm fan! Their A6 journals have been on my list for a while so I hope I get the chance to try them out 😊 Their B6+ is also a great size!!
I’ve been watching your bullet journal September setup video and have to admit, I’ve bought a L1917 myself to try that for next year. Despite having a weeks mega for my planner and cousin to memory keep. There’s just something that’s drawing me to it. I’m keeping the weeks as I need the dated pages and such with coordinating the lives of 5 of us in it, but the bujo is being added purely for myself to play around in!
Initially I got the English edition Techo Cousin (I wrote in it and everything 😂) but now I'm going to use 2 Weeks Megas (one for work, one for personal). Now I'm a bit guilty because I know I'm going to neglect the Cousin. I'm thinking about giving it to a friend, hopefully they don't mind that I wrote in it.
I'm still going back and forth on what I want to keep or change for next year's set up. hopefully, I can narrow it down by the end of the month. december is approaching way too quickly. anyways, what I REALLY wanted to say was: nanami sticker !!!!!!! 😍💖
I think it looks so nice and practical! I'm going a6 for next year myself because it looks more manageable also. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it :)
I have had this A6 Leuchtturm for like 2 years. Set it up 3 times and never used. For the last few weeks it has been satisfying my need for simple dailies. I am loving it! so much so I am no longer sure about my 2024 lineup... I want to see what else this little book can do for me...
if you dont mind can you maybe do a story of how you use the work planner? I have been thinking about having a work planner as I finish my studies xD Short and sweet. I hope you like experimenting with bullet journal. Even I after seeing the crazy year this has been, I crave for bullet journal so much this year. I just hope we all enjoy the notebooks we have & I get to experiment with fountain pens hehehe. Happy Fountain Pen Day lindsey.
Your last two videos have made me homesick, I have not been home to Oregon since July 2, 2020, when I traveled to Seattle to catch a flight finally to Denmark to be with my husband. With your visit to Ovation Paper and that sticker of Haystack Rock. I will be back in Oregon in December for a few months. Just finished my masters degree here. Nice lineup, I do not judge what planners, people use. Though those who put a ton of stickers in the planners and not really use them for functional purposes do drive me bonkers. I will clarify this, that it is the ones that use like use the vertical planner and put down stickers completely in each weekday on the spread, so it is totally covered with stickers. I wonder why they just do not get sticker books. Autistic here so it is hard for me to understand others motivations.
After lurking as a non-subscriber for a few weeks (Megan Rhiannon brought me here), I've finally joined the Scribbles team (the Scribblers?) I can't wait to see where your journaling ideas and plans will get you next year! (And hopefully i'll get some inspo as it is appearing to be quite a changes-packed year for me) Thank you for the wonderful videos, I appreciate how calm they are, how soft-spoken and clear your tone is and how beautiful everything looks!
I’m still trying to figure out how to get a hobonichi like system inside my standard or passport travelers notebook and to look uniform not mismatched inserts.

Hey there! Love your system! It’s very well thought out and deliberate. I might get a LT in A6 and try it.
I think it looks so nice and practical! I'm going a6 for next year myself because it looks more manageable also. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it :)
When you finish the leuchhterm you should try the a6 stalogy notebook. I think you’ll like the paper
that is such a cute planner, looks amazing ❤❤

Your Hobonichi cover is dreamy. 😍

Have you thought about getting an A6 or pocket TN to keep in the back for annual collections? I think that was a hangup you had.

Loooooove this video! 😊
Love your videos! Thank you for sharing, they are always very informative. Where did you get that adorable ceramic ghost?
I love the simplicity! What hobo cover is that?! Love it
LOVE the Leuchtturm A6! What photo printer do you use? I’m looking for a new option!
i wish bujo channels would be able to do more closeups when they're settin up
Awwww Take A Note didn’t make it to Lindsey’s list😢
Are you an AWS Solution Architect?
I’m still trying to figure out how to get a hobonichi like system inside my standard or passport travelers notebook and to look uniform not mismatched inserts.
sterling ink common planner would prob be perfect!
Echoing, Sterling Ink now sells standard and passport inserts!
