I loved the game all the way up to the final mission. Love the game still and loved the story ip to that point. Just so meh imo. Hope if they do story DLC they can do something satisfying
@MJDModified Probably because that's not the ending, they made Dead Island 2 a chapter based game, but failed to call it that leading to confusion. There are still 2 confirmed chapters to go, potentially more that they could be keeping a secret. Dambuster Studios just did a really poor job communicating that fact, I had to do a lot of digging to figure out what was going on since I refused to believe that was the ending and I'm so glad it's not.
@@MJDModified Ever heard of Telltales The Walking Dead game or Life is Strange? They had chapters as well, would you call the first chapters of them the ending of the games? Abso-fucking-lutely not, because that's ridiculous.
@@SpikedTeeth I agree with you here. Like it’s very clear that it’s set out that way though. Dead island 2 will have more chapters under an expansion pass you need to pay for. Aka DLC not the main story. They clearly had a time crunch and couldn’t finish those levels in time or whatever. Leaving them to push it to dlc
I was genuinely surprised that dead island 2 was actually a good game. All those years in development, and you would’ve expected it to do a Duke Nukem forever.
Honestly I think Dead Island 1 was an actual outbreak cause the tribe that the group try and find have some level of immunity or can become undead I forget the one tribe girl who was normal but if she scratched or bit you you became infected but anyway it’s possible that Dead Island 1 was just an outbreak and Sam was immune to that one and holds some degree of immunity to the next outbreak but even he says he was bit a ton during the game so far so it’s possible it overloaded his immunity maybe even the player could be overwhelmed by the virus if bitten too much I mean I never know cause I was never bit after the start. So it is possible being bitten over and over could overload the player in theory
I dont think the player can be turned. Technically you are a zombie, that's basically what Fury mode is, you become a zombie and lose control. Except you're not decaying and dying, you're mutating and becoming stronger. The player was already infected they can't become more infected. Sam B isn't immune to the autophage outbreak, at least not completely, and they never exactly specify in Dead Island 1 how their "immunity" works. Immunity can mean you're highly resistant to a virus but you can still get it, it's just harder, so maybe after getting bitten enough times the autophage can actually infect Sam B and the characters from the first one. The guys in 2 though, are already infected and that's why their immune.
@@khalilpontikes7293in dead island 1, Dr kessler says that O negative blood type are immune to the virus. The whole crew has that blood type. You can’t get braindead infected but they can still eat you. I assume when you go fury, you are a hybrid of what Ryder became but are in control of yourself. The hell-a virus is a different story.
Fingers crossed for a 3rd(4th) instalment. Say what you will about the hellish development cycle that spanned for nearly a decade, but in totality this franchise is amazing imo and what games should be like, fun gameplay with a decent enough story that doesn’t take itself too serious and prioritizes fun over insane intricate narratives yet still leaves room for interpretation and further development in the world of the game. By no means am I saying the game is perfect but it brings back memories of what I would consider the “golden age” of gaming and there aren’t nearly enough games that give me the same feeling. Props to deep silver for managing to piece together what I would consider a pretty solid game from the rubble of its predecessors. Personal rating: 4/5 voodo rap songs 😂🙏
i still don’t understand.why did he want to find the numen? how did he get numen blood to inject into his daughter before she was born? how did he release or progress the zombie virus dna? how did he do it? idk it feels like a bunch of weird plot holes even tho i just beat it and have watched three story vids on it. then again.. i am high. perhaps it’ll make sense in the morning
Dr Reed has been researching this for decades, drove himself into a bit of a mad scientist, panicking over what he thought was a ticking time bomb. Judging by the location and covert nature of his lab, he must have secured black ops government and/or big money funding(Konradt) to research this and bring out the infection in a small amount of human subjects. That's how he discovered the zombies, and extremely limited numbers of numen, in decades past. So he knew how to create a cure using his daughter before she was born. But didn't want to resort to her needing to be harvested for the rest of her life. He worked out one vaccine and was sure he could create another with enough numen test subjects. So, he let out a zombie subject(s) to start the outbreak in the hopes of locating significantly more numen, in the hopes he could make a vaccine out of their blood since he would have a bigger pool to "trial and error" with. He failed - all he did was super enhance it and create mutators out of them. His daughter is the only vaccine now. My guess is he was responsible for Banoi as well in some way, intentional or otherwise. Or maybe the Banoi outbreak confirmed his suspicion about the autophage being a matter of time before it triggers naturally in humans - and drove him crazy enough to take the desperate measure he did to start another outbreak.
That be great they make dead island 3 sense LA had the outbreak put all California in quarantine dont mean the dead reached the other cities &states if it has it be apocalypse for all of us. It will be great to know where the survivors of dead island 1 went. Join forces together.
Hope it's just DLC coming..... 1. ) Meeting back up with SAM B and going into his old neighborhood to save old gangbuddies wouod be dope. 2. ) Finding out more about Patton and perhaps finding more shell-shocked vets to help out like him. 3. ) The NUMEN expansion needs to be like secret PVP mode added to the game
after the developement shenanigans of DI2, and also the massive sales success of DI2, its about a 50/50 shot. if they continued to build it on the unreal engine platform, especially 5 and the further engine variants down the line, they could make a really good, optimized, fulfilling game. but theres a lack of content that DI2 follows, especially when relating to story quests, and relations to the first and 2nd games (dead island, and riptide). now that they have the Dead island formula pretty much perfected, it'd be cool to see it in a somewhat linearly locked open world larger to the one of hell-a where theres similarly restricted zones unlocked upon quest progress, but larger districts with more to do and more POI's to explore. also, the skill card decks could use a massive overhaul with some more variation in character-related skills and bonuses, and actual skill tree which involves upgrading your efficiency with weapons, better thrown distance, more durability with X weapon types ect. all of the current skill tree deck cards have to do with player's kicks, dodges, knock down bonuses, autophage bonuses, rage bonuses, ect. but theres none in the form of "i want to specialize in these types of weapons, so i'd like to put skill points into it to make my character better with them".
I fully expected to fight Sam B / or at least one the 3 neumans… maybe the black dude. Headphones girl looked important and other lady reminds me of carol from the walking dead
Im praying to god we get another discount cod zombie mode like what we had in dead island 1 Im also wanting to know what happened to xian mei and purna. We know sam b, we know logans isolated in canada, but xian and purna we know jack shit.
Dead Island 2 isn't even finished yet, it's a chapter based game, there's still 2 more chapters before it's done. The cliffhanger wasn't for a potential 3rd installment of the franchise, it was for the next chapter.

If I'm honest. The story was all over the place and did not tie in at all with the original games. The autophage doesnt tie in with the Kuru prion disease at all. And the doctor making his daughter the cure almost 2 decades before the outbreak and then looking for a different source of cure for reason unknown was jarring. Most camps are hanging on a thread and every missing person i have done so far has ended in death with no saves. The gun play was solid and the melee combat is great. Very solid but it can't cover up the rather dry amount of missions there are and frankly super small maps. Sure there are some maps that are decently big but other maps felt way to restricted in area. And then theres not that many areas to begin with. An earthquake at the beginning of the games and showed multple times just doesnt happen any more once you get threw venice beach. A cool concept gone but not over staying its welcome so 50/50 on it. The clown fight was fun i liked that. But over all i give it a very fair 61/100 above average but not steller. Would recommend once the price drops on it in the future.
About the daughter... he explains it pretty well at the end, he didn't want her to be poked and prodded for the rest of her life, so he tried to find others who were infected but didn't turn to try and get a cure out of them... so she wouldn't suffer as a way to atone for what he did to her. And post-game a quest opens up to figure out what the quakes are about, I didn't get to it yet cuz the games over and I'm gonna wait for the DLC to start playing again.
This franchise would become similar to every zombies genre , like RE , TWD , L4D , etc etc . First survival , then finding truth , latter fighting some organization or goverment .
All I'm hoping is that the company who makes the Dead Island series don't end up falling into a trap like how Deadrising 4 ended up. If they continue this series, hopefully it doesn't end up sucking by the time the 4th game comes out. We don't want another deadrising pay-to-get-ending and dialogue that makes no sense type of game. When I was watching through the gameplay, it gave me resident evil and old deadrising 1/2 vibes from the 2000s. So I do look forward to see where they head next. Hopefully they don't screw up this franchise like what Deadrising went through.
The only rime that ur charcter lost control was when u were in vacinity of a special infected.. if u think about it right.... The autophage and numen are more then just an infectious disease, as if that were the case then every person, yourself, and the others qould have already turned, but it seems like its a genetical thing, where survival ofthe strongest(i guess...) Applies here, if ur genes are suited to match that autophage and numen then u can theive with it using like u do in the game
I hope the DI2 expansion/DLC will set in South Central Hell-A and we will fight humans too, the expansion will be involved slayer in gang war and crime in South Central outbreak
The fact that a game has post game content does not mean that the game must end on a cliffhanger to make people buy more. So many games are separated from the DLC'S ehich are different stories from the main one. So no, you are wrong when you say that the end isn't surprising due to DLC. A DLC is not supposed to be needed to complete the main one. The only game I know which did that has a very bad reputation - The Callisto Protocol.
There is remotely ZERO “island” elements to NYC so absolutely not, I didn’t agree with California being a spot for “dead island” but atleast it has beaches and water, NYC definitely doesn’t.
I'm still a bit confused myself but thinking about it, I think Dr Reed believed an outbreak is inevitable anyway, which technically it was, so I guess he thought starting it now would help with his cure. Instead of waiting til the day the outbreak would've happened if he hadn't done anything or if the outbreak happened many years into the future when he'd ofc no longer be around. So I guess Dr Reed is sort of a nihilist or like a doomer type mindset.
Accoriding to what i understand: "The cure" that Reed gave you in the end, cures you from both the autophage and numen, which mean it turns you to a normal person. The cure from Tisha, because she has numen blood, only stops the autophage and makes you numen. The numen woman Konradt, doesn't agree to the cure on numen and believes numen is the evolution of humankind, that's why she stop working with Reed.

"First expansion: How does a billionaire prepare for the zompocalypse? A techno-death cult with a healthy splash of debauchery and gore! The first story expansion, Haus, will release in Q4, 2023.
Second expansion: Welcome to the SOLA festival, where LA's party people can greenwash their way to ecstasy and save the planet, one rave at a time. So L.A! SOLA Festival, will launch in Q2, 2024. "
Story seems a little goofy but the game looks AMAZING! What system is this video footage from?
Ps5
That's exactly what it is. Stupid, goofy zombie killing fun. Which isn't a problem, because that's exactly what it wants to be!
Actually I would love to see more of the game's lore
I loved the game all the way up to the final mission. Love the game still and loved the story ip to that point. Just so meh imo. Hope if they do story DLC they can do something satisfying
completely agree. I love that the game doesn't take itself too seriously. but man the ending just felt like a crappy cliffhanger...
@@SpikedTeeth thanks for that! It’s still the ending though. Adding chapters after is just glorified dlc for free. The story should have ended
Tisha is like the immune in wwz. The zombie won't attack other sick soon to be zombies but they do attack pure, uninfected people
Story isn't bad tbh. I liked it
Same. It's just the ending that is underwhelming.
I hope that story gets an ending i hated the fact it ended on a cliffhanger... kinda shit after 10 years the story was over so quick
Imma be real, It better be a dlc.
Dead island is a masterpiece
Serpo admits at the end of riptide that it was a test and that included banoi.
How old is this game? Is it a newer version of the 2014 game?
No this came out in 1874
Fingers crossed for a 3rd(4th) instalment.
It has potential for part 3 but i not waiting 10 yrs for a 3😂
i am sorry but that had me laughing so hard, *How it sets up dead island 3* see ya'll in 10+ years!
i still don’t understand.why did he want to find the numen? how did he get numen blood to inject into his daughter before she was born? how did he release or progress the zombie virus dna? how did he do it? idk it feels like a bunch of weird plot holes even tho i just beat it and have watched three story vids on it. then again.. i am high. perhaps it’ll make sense in the morning
Does it make sense yet
@@adzbrowne9027what?
i wonder what the expansion pass has to offer.
at least 2 big DLC, with story expansion, and new areas in LA, for now
That be great they make dead island 3 sense LA had the outbreak put all California in quarantine dont mean the dead reached the other cities &states if it has it be apocalypse for all of us.
No
I would love a dead island 3 & 4
after the developement shenanigans of DI2, and also the massive sales success of DI2, its about a 50/50 shot.
if they continued to build it on the unreal engine platform, especially 5 and the further engine variants down the line, they could make a really good, optimized, fulfilling game. but theres a lack of content that DI2 follows, especially when relating to story quests, and relations to the first and 2nd games (dead island, and riptide).
now that they have the Dead island formula pretty much perfected, it'd be cool to see it in a somewhat linearly locked open world larger to the one of hell-a where theres similarly restricted zones unlocked upon quest progress, but larger districts with more to do and more POI's to explore. also, the skill card decks could use a massive overhaul with some more variation in character-related skills and bonuses, and actual skill tree which involves upgrading your efficiency with weapons, better thrown distance, more durability with X weapon types ect. all of the current skill tree deck cards have to do with player's kicks, dodges, knock down bonuses, autophage bonuses, rage bonuses, ect. but theres none in the form of "i want to specialize in these types of weapons, so i'd like to put skill points into it to make my character better with them".
I'd say it's more for the two upcomming dlc story expansions then a DI3
The ending was such a blue balls
I fully expected to fight Sam B / or at least one the 3 neumans… maybe the black dude. Headphones girl looked important and other lady reminds me of carol from the walking dead
Im praying to god we get another discount cod zombie mode like what we had in dead island 1
Im also wanting to know what happened to xian mei and purna.

@@Kazeromaruwhat are people expecting kn the comments?
I think I speak for all of us when I ask the big question you never asked… “What’s Charlie Sheen’s roll in all of this?” 😂
If I'm honest.
How can I telport back?
Sam has a different type of immunity
i love it when im playing the game and then someone says my name
Nah dlcs we’re garbage
The fact that a game has post game content does not mean that the game must end on a cliffhanger to make people buy more.
So many games are separated from the DLC'S ehich are different stories from the main one.
So no, you are wrong when you say that the end isn't surprising due to DLC. A DLC is not supposed to be needed to complete the main one. The only game I know which did that has a very bad reputation - The Callisto Protocol.
If there is gonna be a dead island 3 in the future. It's most interesting setting would be Manhattan in new york. Does anyone agree with that or no?
There is remotely ZERO “island” elements to NYC so absolutely not, I didn’t agree with California being a spot for “dead island” but atleast it has beaches and water, NYC definitely doesn’t.
Can I ask . If tisha is the cure. Then why did dr reed want to infect whole of LA for numen experiments when he already had tisha?
I'm still a bit confused myself but thinking about it, I think Dr Reed believed an outbreak is inevitable anyway, which technically it was, so I guess he thought starting it now would help with his cure. Instead of waiting til the day the outbreak would've happened if he hadn't done anything or if the outbreak happened many years into the future when he'd ofc no longer be around. So I guess Dr Reed is sort of a nihilist or like a doomer type mindset.
@@khalilpontikes7293 ohhh okay . Makes sense bros just evil then hahah. But yeah that was also a question of mine.
I love Dead Island 2!❤️💕
From i just want to get out of Hell-A to im going to stay to find the cure and save everybody that's great character development.
This story lost me along the way towards the end
More Dead Island 2!
Most addicting game i played in 2023 and in general since RDR 2 !!! Im already lvl 30 (was 30 5 quest before the final quest😂😜) missing only 3 leg weapons and just 15 lockboxes cant wait for the dlc
It's going to be 3 or 4 dlc's and new skins and weapons but no storage
Dead island 3 will actually be dead island 5 since there has Dead Island 2 is Dead Island 3 because Dead Island is 1st and Dead Island: Riptide is 2nd making dead island 2 actually dead island 3
Dead Island 2 is technically Dead Island 5 if you count Dead Island Retro Revenge and Escape from Dead Island.
We don't count number like that because DI 1 and DI 2 have different game engine and mechanic
@@macobuzi yeah I don’t know what I was thinking when I made this comment even I’m confused
2-5 years for dlc then 20 years for dead island 3?
1 year.

Second expansion: Welcome to the SOLA festival, where LA's party people can greenwash their way to ecstasy and save the planet, one rave at a time. So L.A! SOLA Festival, will launch in Q2, 2024. (April/May/June next year)
Both, however don't sound like they continue the story, so the story is most likely setup for Dead Island 3.
Developing the main game is always more time consuming. DLC and expansion however, based on the previous foundation and should have no problem.
Hands down one of the worst "endings" to a game I've ever seen. To call it a setup to a sequel is a stretch. They didn't even try here.
Dont get me wrong I love the game but I agree the ending felt very rushed, however Ive seen much worse endings.
It hasn’t ended yet, its going to continue through the expansion pass.
@@theallfather5745 you couldn't pay me to play an expansion for this game. I didn't pay for half the game. They aren't getting a cent more of my money. I know it was in dev hell for like a decade but they really pushed an unfinished product into the market with this one.

FTFY
So we will have to wait another 4-10 years for the sequel, no thanks, got better things to do.
Then do them and 4-10 years down the road you'll have something to do for a weekend.
I hope DLC we go to San Francisco
With how bad this game is in not buying the 3rd addition. They better have lots of dlc to make this game worth it. A LOT!
Feel like the story could been more longer at least give us 30 missions if we gotta wait another 10 years 😅😢
Great game. Can’t wait for dlc
Hopefully it doesn’t take 12 years lmao.
I'm hoping they have all of the slayers meet up like they did in the original dead island. You play as whatever character you choose but the first game brought in the others anyway because they were part of the story. Will Amy Bruno dani Jacob and the others will they meet up and work together like they did in the first game
In Dead Island 2 all the characters met each other at the beginning. Its easy to forget when you play mostly in single player but they have cutscenes showing their gang of survivors.
Love the Game❤️
Ryan helmet lol
Dead island 3?? Oh no..have to wait another 10 years..I m old.
Tbh the ending really feels lackluster
bro it sets up the dlc.........
Bookmark this game for future versions of the video "10 Games whose true ending is in the DLC"... It was enjoyable but when the game you bought doesn't have an actual ending and they tell you "pay us more money for it in a few months" it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
I swear if dead island 3 is not open world I’m going to unalive everyone in my family (not actually)
@GamingBolt how can I contact you about YT Promo
I think it’s just gonna be dlc
I loved the game but the story is lame compared to Dead Island 1, that was way better with the hidden lab in the jungle.
Alright… hear me out.. that girl with the head phones and the pink hair….
I thought I was the only one.. Ahem... Actually in the DLC I hope we play as her (Cadenza?) and/or Thornton. More Numen? Yes please. Also maybe end with a Lola campaign, ala Ryder White from DI1
Because of the way it ended I won't get 3
I am confused 🫤
omg the girl with the headphones is soooo bad😩
Hope we still got our hot ass lifeguard zombies in our next Dead Island 3 game. Swimsuit zombies, bikini zombies, fatty zombies, underwear zombies, Dead Island 2 zombies are so memorable yeah!!
This game wasnt thought through at all story n gameplay sure its fun but not perfect n the fury is lazy every slayer gets same fury story has too many plot holes its just feels unfinished
It felt exactly like it was... 3 different stories rolled into 1 game. I loved it, not everyone will. I just hope for the DLC and/or future games they stick to one timeline and refine it. It has tons of potential to be GREAT, with a few major tweaks. Let Dambuster do it's thing and see what happens.

Those DLCs don't sound very end gamey finish the story type deals.
I think the first Dead Island was a lot better, Riptide was OK, DI3 has better weapons, better player control, but the story wasn't as good. The ending suck, where was the helicopter ride? Will the helicopter allow them to escape or will they get show down? Too many unanswered questions. Also, why would anyone make a product to make people look older? The money is in making them look younger.
