The person who said this visitor came at the time for Divine Worship service is correct. It is before SS starts that there are greeters at the door, who give out the Bulletin and welcome everyone. At Worship Service, the atmosphere becomes more reverent and focused on hymns, the sermon and offerings. My Church is a very friendly and welcoming Church and we make sure that if there is pot luck, we treat the visitors as our special guests. This man needs to attend Sabbath School and the Divine Service, and get a better sense of how we conduct our entire Service. I’m glad he at least learned that Saturday not Sunday is the true Bible Sabbath. Let’s pray for him🙏🏼

I've been a Seventh Day Adventist for 21 years now. The one thing I can still remember is the welcome I got on my first visit. I can clearly remember the gentleman saying to me "Jesus needs soldiers like you". There's definitely room for improvement in different churches. I've experienced no welcoming in some churches but that didn't discourage me from staying in the church "...for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day." (2 Timothy 1:12)

I have visited sda churches and not been welcomed on more than one occasion. From the first time that it happened to me, I decided to make myself a committee of one and welcome unfamiliar faces in my sda church. It has been a pleasure to meet new people, show interest in them, answer any questions, and to tell them about our services. As a teacher in Sabbath School it became the identity of our entire class. Many souls have been won by a smile and a warm welcome. The blessings flow both ways.

      Amen, Dexter!
Absolutely, we ought not to think it doesn't happen. It does.
So few people step out of their comfort zones and take this most important role on: we need people to search out newcomers, greet them with sincere, genuine smiles and hospitality, and keep checking in on them, as our services are distinctly different from first day churches.
We have such a blessing to share, within and without our church walls.
These truly are the last few months/years of earth's history. Soon our King Jesus will return to collect His people. It's a serious, hugely important message we have to share at this hour. A message of God's agape love. ❤

      False claims, brother.
In all SDA churches, everyone is welcomed from the pulpit at the beginning of every service, visitors and members alike. Just try to be in early before the service begins. Something important to know is time. To be able to know what type of church you're getting into, you have to be there on time, then you can know all about them and even be blessed. May God help you to find the truth about God Himself and do not go looking for people to be nice to you, to recognise your presence. We go to church to look for God, not the people.

That is the real truth, even that which some people are reluctant to face. In case any doubt arises, do refer to Romans 3:10-12. You have faced and typed the real truth to remind us about the importance of courtesy and thoughtfulness in the house of Gracious Great God; not only in the temple itself, but also in the Church family. That is the house of Gracious Great God where judgment will take place.

And may you take my advise to goto awnsering adventism youtube channel a channel where he like me is an ex-sda altho i only attended that church for a time when checking out the different earthly church’s as a teenager until we heard them teach false teachings that is not consistent with the bible. The sda is a false church. Dont believe me. Please goto that UA-cam channel. He knows the true sda teachings far better then I likely ever will and he shows using scripture that it teachs things different then what the bible teachs. I’m 44 now. So I was part of the sda church as a teenager. When we found out them teaching false biblical teachings we warned our teenage friends in the church about it not being a by the bible based church.

      Not always today... creeping compromise
.... love sermons which are linked to new age Christianity. .. not Jesus' love which is the law and the hospital. They are preparing people for one world religion and affirmation of the lgbtq is a big part. I don't get how they don't affirm all things God told us not to do but that is the focus ....
But I came to the church as it is founded on bible truth and many churches are still doing the right thing by God not doctrines of men

Go to the UA-cam channel awnsering adventism where he shows not by conjecture or argument but by scripture that the teachings of the sda church are false. If you wish to worship on Saturday . Goto the Jews specifically the messianic Jews to learn the bible and worship Christ on Sabbat. On Saturday.

I became SDA early 2024 . I knew SDA were unfriendly having been to quite a few churches visiting over the years. I went to one 26 years ago with my 2 kindergarten aged children and NO ONE spoke to us even though I sat in sabbath school with my children. I left straight after that and thought nothing has changed.
I spoke to my now pastor about the experience I had with my children and said "how many people are lost because we are unfriendly and turn them away".
26 years later, and aged 60 years back in 2022, I decided when wanting to go I wasn't going there to make friends but I was going there to learn about Jesus. That's all that mattered.
I attended church with my mother back in 2022 and 6 people out of 40 were friendly and came and said hello and small talk. I said to my mother "what's wrong with these people they're friendly".
So 2 years later here I am an SDA and I make sure I speak to any stranger to make them feel welcome as I know all too well the coldness.
They have actually done a survey on why SDA are unfriendly and the result was they are too focused on studying the bible and not displaying christlike character.
Food for thought because it's actually turning people away. Turned me away for 46 years, but thankfully the holy spirit impressed upon me to try again.
Be friendly to visitors. They could even be an angel!

Bro Lawrence I am sooo disapointed in you. I have always watched your videos but you are not strong enough on a big big topic. How we treat/ should treat people . The genltleman was so balanced in his encounter yet you say HE CLAIMED that noone welcomed him😢. Well Sir I have had my own experience of feeling unwelcomed at An SDA. A lady even ask me to get up out of her seat.( I didnt). Years later I became a member of that same church. I only got recognition when I moved from the tiny old structure into my new beautiful home as I was educating my children and couldnt afford anything else at the time. After I started driving to church . People were friendly to me and started asking me to do stuff that is after I have been there for a couple of years😅. I have seen the working of the Lord in the life of me and my children. God is good.My 3 kids all grown with their own families are SDAs. God gave me Christian husband . Our 17 yr old is a serving member of the church. We are bless❤
1- God is our perfect example
2- Treat people the way we want to be treated.

Some small churches do not put greeters at the door, however, they welcome visitors during the lesson studdy and during divine service. I will not stop going to a new SDA church just because no one greet me. I go to serve God not man. I keep my eyes fixed on Jesus not on man. I dont care whether people great me or not.

Brothers and sisters, we need to be intentional in our witness and not miss the opportunity to welcome someone! I remember when I was in high school I had invited a friend to church. When I got to church someone sat behind me who in my peripheral vision looked like my friend. I turned around and realized it was a visitor. I welcomed her and talked after church and invited her to our house for lunch. She told us at lunch that this is the third time she came to an Adventist church and in previous times no one talked with her! She had said to herself, if no one talks with me this time either I am not coming back. (she grew up in the faith but married someone who was not a Christian and was trying to get back to church). She is still at that church 30+ years later and a leader in the church.

In the Caribbean we focus on new comers or visitors before, during and after service especially in small congregations. We call them by name and record when they visit each time. The leaders speak to them and members swarm around them to thank them for their presence and invite them back. They get food, etc. and are invited to members' homes and church activities.

It's a shame but, I'm thankful though that you can go anywhere in the world and you can find a church to attend on Sabbath if you choose to. In 2022 my husband and I was on Christmas vacation out our state and we visited a church and there was a well know person who I had been seeing on some of our Adventist stations and he did the welcome, we weren't acknowledged at all. My husband doesn't really care about that sort of thing, but this time it bothered him. We should be the most welcoming and friendly people. I can honestly say I have never experienced anything like what you are speaking of. Praise the Lord. I am a frequent traveler and have always found each church very welcoming. I’m am so sorry you had such a terrible experience.

My SDA congregation in North America has a team of greeters at the door each Sabbath. I must say that not getting very personal with people is part of Western culture (I will stand corrected), there is this "give me my space" culture. It is not so in many other cultures where visitors are recognized and their home churches mentioned. There is no written policy when offerings are collected. Some attendees leave worship early for personal reasons. I appreciate this man's honesty and hope that that particular church and others have taken note.

I have been an SDA for over 55 years. I have experienced what this video said about not being greeted as a stranger at one my own denomination churches. For example, I visited a church when I was traveling in Alabama and from the moment I entered till the time I left not one person said "Hi" to me. I have told everyone the I have had conversations with on this subject that I think, from my experience of holding numerous offices in the church, that the "Greeter" is the most important position in the church congregation. Just as this video depicted, they are the first contact any visiting stranger may have. Therefore, I contend that the church greeter is the spearhead of our evangelistic mission.

I moved to Ohio from Tennessee. I visited three SDA churches for the first time, and no one greeted me at all, with one exception, a member of a Columbus church asked me to move because I was sitting in her spot! As I was leaving a church in Dayton a couple of men spoke to me, and actually said some of the people (women) were not friendly to stranger women. I had driven two hours to visit that church. The church in Cincinnati was uneventful, I was in and out without notice.
It was revealing to me so I have always made it a point to greet visitors at church. I no longer expect the church to be friendly. In all fairness these were isolated experiences as I was immediately embraced at other SDA churches.
The opposite has been my experience at non-SDA churches. I am generally greeted and invited to stay for "lunch" at these mostly white churches.
Overall, I believe the SDA churches are open and warm. It's just that some members are stoic, and those are the ones that stand out.

Maybe this will help You, I left Catholicism because within is so much sin going on that my conscience, like Martin Luther's said I can't stand it anymore and I left. I got all books of the major religions, Christian and non Christian. After reading them none were jumping out at. I prayed for a few weeks, asking God to give me Truth, and the Holy Spirit that I never had after 50 years of Catholicism ( and thousands of dollars). Then a book appeared at my Apartment, so I started tp read it, it was like a hot turkey meal to a starving person. I read 4 Chapters, looked on the inside, it was a SDA book by Ellen Whites Steps to Christ. I went to a Church Service and God delivered me the Truth, and I got to feel the Holy Spirit and that was an amazing feeling over my entire body, a beautiful warm feeling with a tiny vibration with also felt wonderful, all my old sports wounds didn't have any hurt at all. So all I'm saying is you're treating Churches like they are restaurants, and who really wants to hear your bad time in a place they'll never go, and you think other people want to hear you do all this? That's arrogant to think like that, If I never see your video again it'll be too soon. Educate yourself, by yourself, reading. Then you'll have learned a little how to Pray, Pray more Read more, if you are contrite and sincere in your Prays, God and Christ Will Answer, If you are genuine God will never ever Forsake you. God has staked the whole Heaven on His Word, His promise to each and every one of us, Call on Him in time of need!!! He will Never forsake us!

It is unusual for there not to be any greeters at the door!
Notwithstanding that, why wasn’t there a communal greeting to first time visitors, regular visitors and members!
However, with all of that, Adventists (in London) are notorious for not welcoming you or saying “hello”, even after the church service!
God bless, José for his sermon (we all know about Naman, in the SDA Church, but that’s because we study the Bible). Which makes me wonder if he just went for the Divine Service and not SabbSchool?
I hope that that church steps up, because even if that was a one off incident, they had 2 independent non SDA individuals who showed up at their door (they didn’t need to witness to get them there), whom they SHOULD HAVE witnessed to, once they WERE THERE!
God obviously sent Tony, to be His witness and Dave was remarkably impressed by the GOOD SENSE of our Etymology. Thank goodness he could accurately point the finger at the Emperor Constantine because I’m sure that many, many, MANY SDA’s could not do so!
We all need to Step Up!

Here in Jamaica, we meet the visitors at the doors. That's where we meet and greet because inside the church, our focus is on the proceedings and God. There should not be a lot of chatter going on. Because we have reverence for God. I therefore apologize to anyone and everyone who has ever visited our churches and felt unwelcome. Part of the experience is being greeted at the door, so it’s noticeable. Everyone notices that!

Yet God never fail to bring the message of encouragement to help those who are seeking for the truth. Pray God continue His good work in the life of this man. And its a lesson for all Adventists, we are Gods remnant people preparing souls for the coming of the Lord. Therefore we should be the most happy and joyful people. We have a very friendly church welcoming people, we have visitors every Sabbath from the community and other adventist churches. We run a lunch ministry every Sabbath for our visitors and the community, some from the community just come for the lunch and fellowship. People needs to see and feel the love of Jesus in the church 🙏❤

I am a Seventh day Adventist and have been for years. I travelled to neighbouring island and entered a SdA Church after seeing the sign. It was Sabbath afternoon. I was not greeted and the Eye contacts were NOT WELCOMING. A stranger seem as "a stranger". I knew every hymn, song and sang. Their indifference was resoundingly loud. But it could not take away my exclamation of, Amen! Their attitude and disposition reflected two bias: national and denominational.
We can be calculated in our reception.

Anyway praise God some still live up to the name of “people of the Book”. May we continue to study our Bible so we can give an answer to those who ask a reason for our faith.

I went to an Adventist university (USC, Trinidad) and it seems like the entire campus greets u. Eventually I started to walk wit my head down. Some yrs ago I was in England for a couple of months, everyone greeted me at the sda church i went to. I went to the church every Sabbath and every Sabbath I was invited to someone's home for lunch (I accepted from my 2nd visit). I am currently in the US and I was welcomed, but i did experience the offering collection twice as well, just as he did, with the kids, etc..never experienced that before. the detailed offering paper is usually for members and we know what it means. For example, if u want to give money to missionary missions or to children's education, etc. I'm glad u had a better experience at the end. I've been Adventist all my.life we r too welcoming 😅

As a Seventh-day Adventist, the experience David described is a poignant fact that determines whether a visitor is a guest or an impostor. When I am not welcomed in a place, whether it is a store, an office, a church, or a house, the next thing on my mind is I am destined to exit through the door. The snobbishness that David described is typical of brothers and sisters who are not taught to love and care about each other, as in the typical family. This commentor speaks with clean and proper language throughout the show. He knows more about principles from the Holy Bible, than some Seventh-day Adventists who know mostly about church doctrines. Gracious Great God made a Church to introduce a perfect work made by Him to be given to us as imperfect people so that we may be made to be perfect by the Lord, Himself. David has likely learned that imperfect people are outside and inside the church. Therefore, the wheat and the tares should "grow" together, until the Harvester, as Jesus Christ, shall come to Earth and do the divine harvesting like never before. Our Creator deserves our whole trust in Him more than it should be passed onto other people.

His experience of not being greeted is more prevalent than you think. I've been SDA since I was 12, and I've belonged to different churches over the years. The times I had to find a new church, I experienced this a lot. One time, I visited a church, and no one greeted me, said hello, or came up to me out of curiosity. I decided to stay for potluck, and I SAT AT A TABLE ALL ALONE. One lady finally came up to say hello, but when she was done, she left me there alone at the table. She didn't volunteer to sit with me or did she invite me to sit at her table. It was the rudest experience I ever had. I have been to a few SDA churches where this happened. The churches that I have transferred my membership to are churches where the greeting was wonderful. But we need to get better at greeting. If you are a deaconness, make sure this happens.
