We have a brand new build rolling into the shop this week! We just had a custom bring us their absolutely mint 1972 Chevy C10. This two tone C10 looks likes it's ready to head right to the local car show. But as cool as a stock C10 is, it's not going to turn too many heads. But we're going to make sure that changes.
We're tearing down this Chevy, ripping it apart and pulling it off the frame, so that we can put it down on a fresh GSI chassis. This new frame is going to have this C10 sitting all the way down on the pinch welds. We're not stopping there though. Low is great, but we want power too! So we have a brand new 6.2L LS3 motor with a Whipple on top that going to really smoke some tires.
This build is going to be killer! Make sure to subscribe because we have a custom bead rolled fire wall that's going to be made, a one-off custom dash to fit our Holley digital dash, our radio head unit, and all of our Restomod AC controls. This episode finished before I was ready for it. It’s amazing how good the truck looked on the surface until you guys dug into it to reveal all that rust. It’s gonna be great when it’s done for sure.
It's always a little stressful every time you gotta peel back some layers on these cars and trucks. But at least we know with the rust cut out, that this thing will stay on the road for a lot longer!
Hello Romeo, welcome to S2S , thanks Mike the rust in the cowl justified this whole tear down. It may look pretty, but underneath it is a very different look!
This was a real ''mint'' truck to begin with, BUT it was hiding nasty secrets.
Never trust appearances, gotta to dig a bit deeper and find those secrets.

Damn that truck looked clean as hell already. Too bad about the rust but he ended up with the right ppl for the job! Looking forward to the progress

I cannot believe how quick this went from a nice street truck, to the fire wall, cowl and trans tunnel cut out 😱 but I have faith in the S2S process 🤙I cannot wait to see and hear that LS3!!!
We have the new firewall going in next episode! It's definitely a much needed upgrade to the look of the engine bay!

At first I was kinda like WTF? Because it was such a nice truck - but then that cowl! OMG, that's a lot of work to fix. Good job!

It only seemed really nice and clean until we started peeling back that first layer of metal!

So exited for this build. This is why its hard for me to buy a finished vehicle! to many people hide stuff
In this case, I don't think it was necessarily hidden from our customer. It's a 50 year old truck that is finally getting that top layer peeled back for the first time!
@@SalvagetoSavage for sure but at some time not long ago that truck was painted and updated. Somebody in that line put the foam in and tried to conceal the holes in the floor board and stuff. Im not saying anything negative about the customer. Im building a 70 chevelle that was a very nice car until I had to replace the back glass. Im now replacing 80% of the sheetmetal.

Took the words outta my mouth she is so minty
After seeing the floor and cowl I wonder what's under that new paint.
We check around a lot of the body and searched inside the panels (like peeking inside the doors through the interior panels and inside the fenders) and didn't see anything that was worrying. Those spots we cut out are relatively common to rust out on these trucks because water tends to sit and collect in those areas.

No coating on the new chassis? Isn’t that going to rust?
Having it arrive uncoated lets us do all the necessary fabrication on it without having to sand down a ton of epoxy frame coating. This whole truck will get stripped down at the end for paint before final assembly!
What about the Vin number with that new chassis
The chassis is not vin just the cab.
