Have Rapido considered producing some Metropolitan Railway coaches for their E1 loco? I'm just curious, this all lovely, but they seem to want tot focus on freight rolling stock from what I can see.
I couldn’t possibly say. However they do have the GWR B Set coaches coming which I featured heavily in my previous update so I suspect they’ll want to see how well those go down. Thanks for watching 🤩
Some of these can often be bought on eBay - a 'cottage industry' seller sells 3D printed models and transfers are available online too. The names CDC design and Railtec come to mind. Buying my own is on my wishlist for later this year.
Went from 0 to 13 Rapido UK models this year exported to the US, their quality is nothing short of stunning with every release, on both sides the pond! Cant wait to see how the 44xx is developing, a top of the line GWR locomotive is sorely needed for their wagons!
Awesome, that's quite a commitment! The 44xx is coming along nicely - I covered that one in my previous video and I think they're now inspecting the second samples. There's also the B Set coaches for GWR fans too which look incredible! Thanks for watching 😃
Me too! The running samples already look amazing so no doubt the decorated samples will be incredible too. I've got No.65 on order myself having done a few Guard turns behind it last year. Thanks for watching 🤩
Wow, there's a lot to look forward to here. All seems to look and run really well, with detailing we could only dream of not that long ago. Congrats to Rapido.
Yes I remember when Rapido first came onto the scene in the UK a few years ago, the commissions they did back then really raised the bar concerning detail. What's great is that they've maintained that high standard to where it's become the norm now. Thanks for watching 😃
Oh my what beautiful engines and coaches they are really pulling out all the stops and going full bore into making great stuff. Rapido is a great company. Thanks for sharing. GOD BLESS from America. 🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖
They really are, it's certainly impressive to see how much work goes into each model and how complex reworking and solving issues can be. Thanks for watching 😃
I do like the look of the metropolitan E1, looks and sounds good, rapido are doing a really good job not just with locos but with rolling stock as well 😀
Yeah I get the feeling their wagons are very popular as they're generally bringing a new level detail to them that hasn't really been seen before from some of the other big companies. Thanks for watching 😃
I have been dithering for months over which livery to go with for the Jones Goods. I like the HR Green, but the yellow (engineering green) is what the preserved loco has, so would best fit my (mostly) Scottish theme preservation layout.
Very Good. I was wondering in general about sound files. Are they cab sounds like the driver hears or are they external sounds like a trackside viewer would hear? Trackside would be influenced by lineside structures, landscape and plants but there are more people lineside. And model railways are all lineside viewers.
Generally it's a mix of both. They go into a lot of detail when recording locomotives so sounds are often recorded from multiple vantage points to take the best from each. For example, safety valves are quite loud - recording those from inside the cab would probably blow out the microphone so generally it would be best to have a little bit of distance to capture the sound properly. But on the flip side, you wouldn't be able to pickup the coal being shovelled from too far away so for something like that you'd want to record inside the cab. Hope that helps and thanks for watching 😃
@@ThatModelRailwayGuy One method which can be used and is by Rails in there adds is to combine lineside recordings and animate with a model railway. Could be a cheaper alternative then sound chipping locomotives and add rolling stock sounds as well.
Do you know where the headquarters is at thanks? Great video. All look amazing out of them all my favorite was Highland Railway ‘Jones Goods’ love the yellow. And GNR ‘Stirling Single’ No.1 and Metropolitan E Class look amazing. Got 6 steam trains on order. love their wagon must have over 10 wagons now. RCH 1907 Private Owner Wagons in batch 5 are on order and with upcoming different wagons must have 6 on order. Do you know Metropolitan E Class can use sound and fire glow on analogue? I have stop buying Hornby and Bachmann trains four the last 3 years. Just Rapido or some time Accurascale. But Great video that model railway guy.
They’re based in Kent but obviously they’re not open to the public. They do have their own exhibition coming in September where everything will be on show and you’ll be able to talk to the Rapido team. Yes their wagons are great. I’ve got some of the SE&CR ones but I’m thinking about getting some PO ones to make up a train too. Thanks for watching 👍
I know what you mean! We've definitely been spoilt for choice lately with the P Class, D Class, Birdcage and Genesis coaches. Rapido's excellent wagons and now the O1 are really going to enhance any SE&CR layouts out there. Thanks for watching 😃
Funny how they reject a certain livery only to change their mind at the last minute. Imagine if the LMS streamlined Duchess Class was painted pink flesh with blue lines, that would be rather questioning - unless you don’t mind a little saucy humour on your layout.
Mind elaborating as I don't know of any locos where Rapido have changed their minds on the livery at the last minute. Knowing how their production works that's not really the sort of thing they do so I'd be curious to know what you're talking about. Thanks for watching 👍
I just remember people thinking the same thing about the Caledonian 812 and then having to pay really crazy prices for secondhand ones after they'd missed out. Thanks for watching 👍
@@ThatModelRailwayGuy that’s true, I’m not entirely sure wether I will order one or not, part of me is hoping the deadline won’t be for a while as I already have lots on order. If the deadline isn’t till sometime next year then I might order one, as that would indicate to me that the project is taking a while and therefore I would be able to save enough money before release as to not totally blow the bank

Very excited for the O1. Absolutely Love the wainwright green livery. It’s such a beautiful livery 😊 have it preordered, and looking forward to it :)

Whilst it's far away, I am very much looking forward to the S160
I'm reliably informed there will be more news on this very soon 🤫 Thanks for watching 👍
Me to hope we get Omaha in red plus Big Jim in grey.
I have pre ordered my Hunslet model with my local model shop. Looking forward to that. Thanks great video.
Awesome, I think the 2nd run of Hunslets are still a way off at the moment but I'm looking forward to those too. Thanks for watching 😃
Some lovely locomotives. Thanks
Yeah there's lots to look forward to here and great to see the progress being made. Thanks for watching 🤩

Looking forward to receiving an OB coach ordered in July 2022.
Awesome, I have to admit I'm not as clued-up on their buses but from what I've seen they look fantastic! Thanks for watching 😃

It's certainly eye catching isn't it but I know what you mean. Both are stunning liveries in my opinion. Thanks for watching 😃
Stunning loco
Which one, there's plenty to choose from 😉 Thanks for watching 👍

Great show....prefer opening loco for me is the best...
The O1 is stunning, can't wait to see the decorated samples! Thanks for watching 😃
Saving up money rn need a secr fleet

I didn’t order an O1 because I think that £200 is crazy for an 0-6-0, I’m having second thoughts though…. Maybe I’ll order one?? My wallet 😭🤣
