I had three of these on loan when they were new. The 1 litre was my favourite. Caned it everywhere and got it to an indicated 99 mph on a dual carriageway. On local tight slip roads it hung on better than most cars I've driven since. Surprising handling ability for a shopping car. Of course that was when they were brand new! I'm a big fan and would love another one now as a cheap run around.
I got me a 1998 1.3L K11 as a first vehicle. Absolutely loving the simplicity of the vehicle. It's also 8 months older than me haha. Great video btw! I'm not a car guy but you got another sub!
@@ShedLifeUK You'd be surprised how much acceleration it has, well my automatic does anyway. I don't know how much of a difference you'll notice with a manual transmission but going from 1 to 1.3 is a good boost. The 1.4 seemed interesting to me too, since it replaced the 1.3 engine. Sadly I couldn't find one near me but 1.3 is more than plenty really.
my father bought a 98 version like 6 years ago, and still has it, its a 1.3 {not a liter, CC} and i am amazed how it is still working... kind a working, mostly cuz its my fault for destroying it, the interior is full of scratches and the front bumper is about to fall, cuz i crashed it. my dad taught me how to drive it when i was 13 and crashed it a year later. now i am trying to fix it and make it look like less of a shitbox. perfect car to learn how to drive
I’m looking to buy a micra for my first car. What mileage and price should I be looking at? Want something reliable and cheap to run on so I think the micra is a good choice 👍
I have the japanese import March, year 2000,auto,also 1000cc. Has 274.000km. I confirm to change the distibutor, it made me big trouble until I fixed it and killed 2 batteries, lol. Good everyday car that doesnt have timing belt but chain, which is great. But its not so economic, had a 1998 Mazda Demio 1500cc before (auto) and it was almost the same in fuel consumption.
@@ShedLifeUK It may be has even more my friend because its import and they usually lie for the kilometers and reset the counter. Anyway,it still runs fine!

Love to hear it!!! What did you think of the 1.4?
I have found one here in Germany for 1.500€ with 4 doors (k11) . Do you think is good to go for that or better a Toyota Yaris 2010?
@@TechSignn same price? Yaris. Micra cheaper? Micra.
@@ShedLifeUK Yaris for 3500€ 😅. So you mean better to go for micra.
@@TechSignn as long as it’s not too rusty, hell yeah brother 👊

@@Domikers the manuals are much better and the bigger engines are worth it for the little power boost you get versus the one litre.
Ah the Mighty Micra. I have a 1.0 litre 2000 Y reg, still going strong. Every panel has a dent but that's the beauty. Kick it straight and carry on !!
The micra way 😎🙌
