It was an honor singing this with an excellent choir years ago. Heavenly music. The Tchaikovsky setting is also beyond sublime.💖🎶

Let us who mystically represent the cherubim and sing the thrice-holy hymn to the life-creating Trinity now set aside all earthly cares that we may receive the King of all, invisibly escorted by the angelic hosts. Alleluia!

@@martarichardson9373 Even MORE beautiful! Only Tchaikovsky's "Sacred Piece No. 3" equals his even more famous Cherubic hymn in my opinion - so uplifting and full of Divine Love! Here: ua-cam.com/video/M3xKTE64mDk/v-deo.html

Rachmaninov was born in Russian in 1873. He wrote this religious piece in 1910 when that was still allowed. He left Russia after the communist revolution in 1917. His life then became centered on his piano concerts and conducting which left little time for composing. He died in 1943 in Beverly Hills, CA.

How many people out of one hundred would guess this was written by Rachmaninov? I wouldn't, it shows little of his composition technique. Similar to Tchaikovsky's Hymn of The Cherubim.
Just shows what writing church/religious can do to your mind.

Yeah. It makes the autor smaller so the music can be bigger, all the people involved in this become one and only... no names. That's what divine does: makes us equal to each other. It's not better then having a name and being noticible. It's just the same coin but the other side of it.
