We actually want people to win, at least occasionally, so they market the game to others at the park. That being said they didn't let us play on our days off because we knew the strategies but If you want some tips here you go 1. Ask for the bar to go really high up and jump up not low to the ground. You want your legs to dangle so you don't move them around as much and throw off your balance. 2. Ask for the crowed cheer you on this helps more than you think. If you come with a girlfriend I've noticed people do a lot better 3. Dry wet hands. The moister can have you slip 4. Ask for the bar to be cleaned off so you don't have anyone else's sweat 5. Go when theres a cool breeze or later in the day 6. Practice at home

Some steps:
1. If they claim you have to position your hands in a certain way: ask them why. They’ll probably expose themselves.
2. If you’re suspicious they may tamper the timer: Try to time it out yourself. In your head or with your own clock.
3. If they try to physically pull you off the bar when you’re doing it fairly: it’s Spanish or vanish.
I've seen these scams. They specifically tell people they can't overlap their thumbs like this. They know this is the proper way to deal with the bar rotating and have a rule against doing it. They'll just say you're disqualified if you do it.
In that case, the bar should be disqualified.

You can also do alternating grips, one over, one under, same result. Used in deadlifting as well. If you're heavier, that thumb trip will work but it'll hurt your thumb.
I assumed that's where this was going, it's exactly why you use it for deadlifts. Maybe they don't let you.
This seems the most rational approach.
Mixed grip mix it alot easier but typically not permitted for this event.
The bar can also be split in the middle so both halfs rotate to defeat the mixed grip.
In one of the parts in the clip it, in the background they show that grip with an X under it. So they dont even allow that either. They trully dont want you to win.

It does not stop the bar it just makes the weight go down as the normal grip makes you grip the side so it causes it to rotate
I had this challenge at the fairgrounds a few years ago and it had a $5 buy in. The bar spins so I did one hand overhand and one hand underhand to cancel forces. Guy said I can’t do that. I said I want a refund. He said no refunds. I stole his cool pink cowboy hat and ran away.

@@scottwillian2120 okay…buddy. I’ve been doing it for over a decade with zero issues. Heavy weight or high reps with time under tension. It doesn’t matter.
I checked back this video and I will reiterate. I worked at an amusement park and ran this game. It's not a scam! The bar can't be bolted in one place because they're supposed to be adjustable, because it's not bolted into place, it will rotate and there's not much we can do about it. We actually want people to win, at least occasionally, so they market the game to others at the park. That being said they didn't let us play on our days off because we knew the strategies but If you want some tips here you go
1. Ask for the bar to go really high up and jump up not low to the ground. You want your legs to dangle so you don't move them around as much and throw off your balance.
2. Ask for the crowed cheer you on this helps more than you think. If you come with a girlfriend I've noticed people do a lot better
3. Dry wet hands. The moister can have you slip
4. Ask for the bar to be cleaned off so you don't have anyone else's sweat
5. Go when theres a cool breeze or later in the day
6. Practice at home
Bro pulled him off 😂
