  • Unboxing my new 2021 accordion, the Bravo ii 48 Hohner accordion. This new accordion from Hohner was given to me by the company as they welcomed me to the Hohner accordion family last week. All the hard work we have been doing for the accordion community is finally paying off and I couldn't be more excited to work with a company like this!

      Happy to hear you found something to allow you to keep playing CeeJay! The accordion can definitely take its toll on the body. I wish I knew the importance of having an accordion that meets the needs without being too big, but it’s all part of the lesson I suppose. Definitely would love to make a video covering the topic of smaller accordions

    it's so inspiring to watch you playing in that spot where you use to meditate, congrats for your new accordion! it reminds me of my first accordion that was also a 48 bass model by Hohner. And that wallride, oh man you even took your front foot off the board in the air and landed it perfectly! This is the best video in your channel by far, lots of emotion and happiness put togheter in an accordion video. Congrats Denny, you are taking the accordion to a new generation!

      Love you brother! I knew you'd get a kick out of the skating portion, haha it felt great to hop on a board again. I remember hearing somewhere not too long ago that wall rides are similar to manuals so I kept that in mind and somehow that resulted in the "ollie north wall ride"... Haha oh well! I'm glad you enjoyed this so much and enjoyed all the storytelling and emotion. Felt really amazing seeing it all come together, especially after taking so much time off. Hope you're enjoying the summer and once again, congrats on the huge accomplishment with your competition!

      @SqueezeandThanks  Рік тому +2

      They’re an okay box if you simply can’t afford something better that’s brand new… expect quality control issues since it’s a China box, no customer service/warranty, and parts breaking that will need to be replaced or fixed.
      I’ve had quality control issues I’ve found on multiple boxes with certain notes not being as powerful as others in certain situations… a reed that broke or became “unstable” and needed to order the part and replace it myself… the plastic buckle on the bass strap broke… and the bellows developed a good sized hole in the one corner where it seals up…
      Compared to vintage Hohners, it’s tough to say. They used better reeds when they were made in Germany so many years ago. Some of the newer more premium models Hohner carries have a better reed quality but it’s tough to find those models being sold in the states since Hohner global and Hohner US are somewhat in competition with each other since the US brand was sold to a bigger distribution company… Pretty sure that’s why no shops in the US carry those premium models made in Germany.

    • @SqueezeandThanks
      @SqueezeandThanks  3 роки тому

      Thank you Isaac! The fr4x I have is just okay compared to the 8x... I feel like they skimped on the bellows a bit, or at least it feels like it. The 8x has mechanical bellows and the 4x is more like a steady leak with a bellow sensor... Idk if you plan on making a lot of videos or recording, or even doing performances, the Rolands are great but other than that the Hohner's are a really great acoustic box.

      I’m sorry to hear that Bradley, what size accordion do you use? Although smaller sized used accordions are sometimes hard to find (since they mass produced 120 bass accordions in the mid 1900’s), I would recommended downsizing to something smaller like this 48 bass, or a 72 or even a lighter 3 reed 96 bass. If you look long enough and wait for the right one to come along, you might come across a good used one that’s smaller. Also consider using straps with a connecting back strap to secure the instrument to your body better if that doesn’t negatively affect the way it makes you feel. I’m praying that you’re able to find the right solution to accommodate your needs and allows you to play longer and without pain. Here to help with anything you might need brother, don’t hesitate to reach out ♥️
