Great interview, thank you. I've just ordered the book and looking forward to it. I would love to find out more on how to lower carbs for family especially childrens packed lunches, which are usually full of carbs x

"That's very powerful - once you start to understand it, then you can also make informed choices... it's a judgment call" - exactly! The book explains the physiological mechanisms so well and enables readers to cut through the terrible advice and obfuscation being pushed by various industries and vested interests. I strongly recommend this well-written and interesting book to everyone - you can add years on to your life and the lives of your loved ones. And parts of it are liable to make the blood boil - there are academics, institutions and multinationals out there that ought to face a reckoning one day.

Thanks Liz for more truths. The rubbish we are spun over the years by the money grabbing food giants. Lining their pockets at everyone’s health expense. Like you love butter, whole milk etc. Live well & long 🙏🏻

Very insightful discussion. We laypeople keep going back to square 1 when it comes to nutrition and healthy food😢. Every time we sort out our pantries based on research, there is more myth busting like saturated fat, oemga6 and insulin blocking leptin etc. I am reasonably good at picking out healthy food, keeping carbs low except when i am on vacation and faced with sweet delights but I really wish accurate and updated food science was not as complicated as it is. It's almost impossible for most people to keep up with these changes and that is quite sad.
I am awaiting the book Why We Eat at my library and i am sure i will understand better once i read it. The one quick question i hav is that i notice people in Germany, France and Italy eat a wholelot of carbs all day. Rhe Germans love their bread and afternoon cake. Do they also have the problem of obesity like the UK and the US? If not, then what explains that. Thanks!!

All Liz's recipes in her books tend to be low-carb and Tom Kerridge has a good cookbook too! Hope helpful :)
