- A quick "how to" video to putting a spray skirt on your kayak. Filmed in various angles to help beginners struggling to get the spray skirts to lock of the cockpit of the kayak. The basic steps are going to be the same whether installation is on white water, sea, or recreational kayak.

No problem. The real nightmare is putting the skirt on with freezing hand and a cold skirt.....insane!
@@adventurecandyrandy2129 right thankfully I haven’t had that struggle yet… this is my first rand skirt and it’s a real pain! My bungees can stretch like a size up if I need too but this one barely can go on it’s correct size haha 😆
@@WhitewaterOutdoors Yeah there's a real difference in sizes between makers. All my skirts are Sealz but I found the Level 6 are SUPER tight!
Man the skirt I got is a monster to get on. NRS skirt but a major job.
I have two Seal skirts that are the same size...one is a huge pain and the other one isn't too bad...The "surf" is easier, and the "shocker" is a little more friendly.

I have a brand new spray skirt and I’m on the upper end of the measurements for that size in fact it’s the largest for both linked in with for that size… How the heck do I get this thing on? I’m a weak person I don’t have big muscles and I don’t think this is gonna work
By the way I am going to start going to the gym to get some muscles but I am recovering from a really severe illness and it’s wrecked my body
Truth is EVERYONE struggles with putting spray skirts on to begin with. That being said just because a maker says the skirt will fit doesn't mean it's necessarily true. Focusing on getting the skirt seated around the cockpit before you start to push out and foreward I have always found to be key. Skirt is a can be a real pain in the a$$. All this being said there's more finesse involved than muscle involved getting the skirt on once you get the hang it. Best of luck!
It helps if the spray skirt (or deck) is wet, in particular around the edges.
That also applies to hatch covers.
@@rogersimmons8788 Great tip! Cold will also increase the "pain-in-the-ass-ness" of snapping the skirt into place as well
