great job ! And if I am not mistaken, Neil Schon plays the guitar on this number, so beautifully! Its unclear but I think that Santana joins at some point towards the end.

Sounds very similar to the record, awesome job 👏. What amp and pedals are you using in amplitube?
I use amplitube 5 and looking to create this tone 👍

      Thank you for listening.
I think I used iPad's Amplitube set instead of Macbook Air apps-Amplitube5.
      The amplifier is Mesa Boogie.

Nice soulful playing of the "Song of the Wind" on that Red SG and a great tone too. How long it took you to learn it ? Neal Schon and Carlos Santana playing on the Track they traded licks during the song both played Gibson Sunburst Les Paul's Neal's Les Paul got ripped off and Carlos gave his away as a present. Tough to decide which guitarist is which. In an interview, i read Neal Schon started and finished, with Carlos Santana taking up the middle stint. Caravanserai, Welcome and Borboletta are my favourite Santana albums. If you have a chance listen to "Yours Is The Light" on the Welcome album there are great covers on UA-cam also.

I think Carlo's solo on Yours is the Light is one of the best studio solos he ever did. I love his tone from back then, with the original Mesa Boogie Mark 1 and his sunburst Gibson Les Paul. The tone he had on his Gibson L6-S right after that in 1974 and 75 was nice too. My take on Song With the Wind is that Carlos did the more melodic parts , such as the few lines he did from "Breezin" by Gbor Szabo. I don't think most of it was done by Neal Schon as I've heard others on You Tube say. A lot of those licks from Song of the Wind, Carlos managed to slip into live jams on other leads he did back then, such as Incident from Nesabur.

@@jimdep6542 Yes interesting. I find it impossible to decide who is playing what as their sound is so similar. But I did read that Neil Schon played most of it. He is also a fantastic player. Santana veers to a more jazzy style with stints with Mc Laughlin and jazz rock during that period.

@@MoonStone2626 I think it's closer to 1/2 and 1/2. There are spots I can tell it's Carlos and other's I can tell it's Schon. What makes it tough to separate too is that they are both playing the same guitars. They went out and bought matching new Les Pauls......same pickups. In a Guitar Player Magazine interview back in the late 70's......maybe early 80's, Neal himself said that he played "also" on Song of the Wind, but at that time , didn't claim to play most of it. Although Carlo's playing was getting more evolved after joining up with McLaughlin in 1973, this album was recorded in 1972, so Carlos was still using a lot of his pentatonic / blues style for more grit mixed in with the more melodic Dorian mode type notes. Great combination of styles.
