I went on this ride in 1993, I think. In 1990 I lived outside SF where I rode on the actual BART trains and had been through the Loma Prieta earthquake the year before. Those experiences gave the experience of going on this ride a different kind of flavor, hah
I know right? This version is way better than disaster anyway and more longer when they turned it into disaster they short I'm very upset that it's closed and being replaced by fast and furious another lame ride with projection screens now 😥
The vids I've seen of recent versions makes me sad. I was there in '89 or '90. About the time the Back to The Future ride came out. I miss the good old days. I feel sorry the kids of present times. (and no, kids, present in this context means current times, not an xbox for christmas)
Oh, I totally agree. I have the entire trilogy of movies, as well as a model of the DeLorean. I wish that ride would come back... Hey, quick question, do you remember the red car from the Earthquake ride? I'm trying to see if it was just a trick of my mind or if it was actually there. It was on the water side of the ride, up near the area where the other subway train came out on the tanker side, if memory serves me correctly... But I was a kid and I don't know if my mind was just screwing with me.
I went on this when I was five and this one looks a lot more realistic than the one in Hollywood. I actually hated it and got really scared, I'd love to go on it again though now that I'm older I think I'd enjoy it more.
I remember sitting right near where the semi slides down and getting so freaked out! Even though I knew it was all fake something that sheer size coming at me was terrifying lol
My parents actually tricked me by taking me on this ride and telling me what was happening was real, i believed them of coarse. My parents are fucking awesome! If you have kids, it may seem cruel, but do the same, its good for the soul :)

I rode it in '06. It was awesome. I also rode BTTF before it closed... I miss that ride. Wish they would get the intelligence to bring it back.
PeculiarReality I'd like to do the BTTF one again too! One of my favorite movie franchises of all time!

The one you're thinking of is Catastrophe Canyon at Disney's Hollywood Studios, part of their backlot tour.
ok thanks but it was in florida same thing i guess.
The Florida Earthquake opened in 1990
ok, it's a little different from the one in LA. 2:25, ok, who left the bath running! lol.
1990!?! Wow thats when I was on it
I liked this much better than Twister
Kool!!!
Earthquake looks exactly like Disaster.
Disaster used the same set and effects as Earthquake, but with some minor changes.
Disaster replaced Earthquake in 2008
they got rid of it
Truck is not fake. It’s real gasoline, propane
