*UPGRADED DESIGN!* Simpler, cheaper, more reliable:) ua-cam.com/video/18leqjHCf0s/v-deo.html *FIX:* 1.21 changed mob spawning slightly, so ghasts wont always get into the carts. You need to remove a layer of blocks to the South West of the 6x6 spawning platforms: ua-cam.com/video/texT1uisbPY/v-deo.html Thanks for watching peeps! Hopefully this farm serves you well, I'm really happy with how it turned out! What are you gonna do with 4400 fun powder an hour 🤔💣 If you wanna see more tutorials like this, share the video! Drop a like or maybe subscribe! It helps out so much 🥰 *NOTE:* If the trident killer(s) are not working, you need to pickup and rethrow the tridents. They may have "fallen down". this is why you need to stand at the afk spot while the trident killers are active:)
TL:DR YOU'RE AWESOME! I have to say, I used to have to watch Java tutorials for all things redstone and just wish that they would work in bedrock. But, once I started finding bedrock-based videos, you quickly became my go-to for farm tutorials. I love how clear and easy-to-digest your videos are, and your attention to detail, like including a materials list in the description (by FAR the best way). Honestly, before I found your channel, I was ready to abandon bedrock. Thank you for continuing to inspire bedrock players, and bringing us well-packaged and efficient farms that make the most of our quirky version of Minecraft.
Thank you silent for this awesome farm. When I started playing Minecraft I never would have thought I'd build a ghast farm because they look intimidating but your easy to follow tutorials make all these kind of intimidating farms look totally doable. Next thing on my list is...tunnel bore!
So I also just finished building this (PC Bedrock, latest version). With Looting III sword I got 5 stacks + 8 gunpowder in 10 minutes, which would approximate to ~1968 gunpowder per hour. This is for one side of the farm, I did not build the second one. Also some ghasts still spawned on some natural platform below the farm, so possibly the rate can be higher if the area is optimal. Some tips/insights on top of those recently shared by others: 1. I couldn't name-tag my ghasts, I kept getting big lag once both of them were present for longer period around. So I built it in Peaceful mode, it was a breeze. Do yourself a favor and build it in peaceful mode. 2. Make sure your build area does not have any natural platforms nearby, ghasts can start spawning on those instead of the farm. 3. When building access to the chest or any other auxiliary paths to the farm, be aware of their size. When I launched the farm for the first time, some ghasts started spawning on my "access paths", I had to reduce their widths to prevent ghast spawning outside the farm. 4. I also had the same issue as other people regarding tridents not killing them. Here are the issues I faced and how I fixed them: 4a. Tridents were not getting set in their expected position (horizontal). This constantly happened while I was standing on the top level next to the "killing lane" and trying to fix the issue. As silent indicated in the update - you really need to stand at that exact spot/distance and have your lever to turn on the killing chambers next to that spot. Throw your tridents, go to the AFK spot, and activate the killer. Only then for me most of the tridents set into their expected position. 4b. Some tridents were still not set proper. Apparently I accidentally had toggled one of the repeaters and all the doors following it were moving at a slower pace. This caused tridents to break the double carts and even the glass. Resetting the repeater fixed the issue. 5. If your tridents did not set properly, there is a high chance they broke one or both carts in the killing chamber. Check the collection chest, possibly hoppers picked up the destroyed mine carts You need to put back the carts (or ghasts will start escaping) and re-throw tridents. The farm works nicely. It takes time so set it up and make sure all parts are in place. But I am glad I made it. Thanks silent!
@@Paperrr-1 For me (on PC) it was not lagging when it was operational. The only time I had lag was when both ghasts were stuck in minecarts and not getting killed (during the construction), thats why I switched to peaceful mode to do the construction. Otherwise I saw no impact on the framerates.
Hey man this was an incredibly informative and useful comment to better understand this farm and I don’t think it got nearly enough attention. Thank you
How big should I dig? i figured i need 40+ blocks per 4 sides, but how much up and down? whether it is necessary to clean all the small islands in the lava lake and how much to clear the spaces upstairs, above the upper level of the farm.
Very nice. I built your previous design months ago , which is fun to watch btw. I enjoy your bedrock videos and tutorials. I hope the channel keeps growing.
Silentwisperer, you are an absolute lifesaver, and I wanna thank you immensely for always looking out for the Minecraft Bedrock community with the most innovative farms to date. But as a suggestion for this farm in particular, maybe preface about the difference in Scaffolding placements sooner in the video? I built this incredible Ghast farm side by side along with your steps (North and South Ghast platforms), and it wasn't until near the end when you brought up the altered Scaffolding patterns.
Works like a CHARM!!! Note to those who might see that the ghasts are not being killed. I messed up and did an east/west build instead of the north/south, which could be your problem. Despite silent's many callouts on how to check, for some reason I still got it wrong, which put my tridents in the wrong orientation. With a small modification you can salvage it by putting the trap door off to the left (looking at it with your back to the afk spot) glass block next to the final trap minecart, move the solid block with redstone on it to align, add another glass block to connect and add an extra bit of redstone to wire it up. Bonus, you wont pick up the tridents if you walk the center line since it's an extra block away. Works!
Can you confirm the advertise gunpowder drops rate? Tired of seeing advertise drop rate be severely worst than videos claim to have. SilentWhisper said drop rate is about 4,400 gunpowder an hour. Curious what you have experienced.
@@pinkzki6473 I think the 4,400 was if you have the two sides going as he finished out in the video. I did just the one "wall" of ghast traps, so that would theoretically be 2,200. I got about a shulker box full of gunpowder in an hour, doing the math, 1728. So a little lower, but not at all bad. I don't know if holding the looting sword has any effect, I've read that doesn't work anymore, but I was just in case, fwiw.
Imma have to try it because I swear I’ve built this correctly, the most recent comment posted on here is from me explaining my isssues so I’ll try this if @silentwhisperer doesn’t reply
@@sethcurtis8431 I posted this somewhere else but my tridents stopped working each time the chunk reloaded so I have replaced them with wither roses where the trapdoors were and placed cactuses next to them, level with the redstone so it doesn’t destroy the drops. Also planning on adding soul fire where the redstone line runs. All three damage stack so it still kills them fast. Because you aren’t technically killing them, you can’t use looting, but there’s no exp build up to lag you out. Runs for hours and hours with no issue and still has a great output for both drops.
For 1.21, it works just if the 6x6 slab squares are 5x5 instead with the scaffolding being on the center block. Due to new 1.21 spawning mechanics on bedrock where mobs will spawn on the mid of a block instead of the north-west corner of it, ghasts -now- spawning 3 blocks away from the minecart will escape it. I find this to be important to share for the 1.21 5×5 (as I built it in a sim 4): 9:52 each of these two red glass will be the centers of sides of the first two squares. Then from each square expand by 5 squares in each side of the platform; to get a total of 12 squares in the front. Expanding the platrom backward, the number of the squares is 6 ( 3 sqaures less than the front from each side). (I keep editing here.. what a tragedy lol) Anyway, I think with this big change the farm is no longer directional unless for trapdoor killers themselves (which for some is not working, like for me tridents keep falling from trapdoors so I used pistons instead), still I need someone to confirm this
@@eranab2702 Pro tip: Updating to 1.21, go to every 6×6 square, let the scaffolding be the center of 5×5, then any block out of this (i.e. the south and east sides of the 6×6) spawn proof it by button/slabs/etc.
I’ve been putting off this farm for a while due to finding the area to build it, but after messing around on creative I finally got bedrock to drop from your other farm. After that I went through all my ghast tears making crystals and decided to build it. Just finished both sides and it works perfectly! Thank you, the rates on this farm are insane, time to AFK for many tears to hopefully get lots of bedrock whilst we still can! Keep up all the good work and thank you again!
If you are having problems with the trap doors or just want something that isn't as touchy, use downward facing pistons that "crush" the trident. This doesn't break at all and works great!
@Harmony Chiguvo Have a piston pointing down so it extends to the piece of glass where the trapdoor would have been. Throw a trident into the piece of glass, and the trident should flatten when the farm is turned on. Sorry if you don't get this either, I'm not good at explaining things
An awesome tip to reduce lag in this farm, Instead of solid blocks near trident killers use Skulk catalyst block and then continue your redstone line on top of it as it was. It will destroy all the XP and significantly speed up the farm.
After 2 days finally managed to build this, only issue I had was some ghast were spawning elsewhere, I changed my render distance to 4 and it fixed this issue, I’d say the most important thing to consider is where u put it, is spent a long time finding a big area and even then I had to do a little spawn proofing
For Xbox players… If your struggling get the mine carts to stack, just use one, but when you put in the row of glass do it three up and two over instead of three up and one over. And then you’ll have to do another row of glass five blocks directly above the minecart. So while the trident killer is killing the first ghast the second one won’t escape. I hope that saves somebody the embarrassingly long time it took me to find that simple solution.
Thank you so much Silent. Wasn’t sure if I was up to the task a couple days ago, but a day gathering the resources and a day building and it’s done. AFK’d overnight and now I have more gun powder than I know what to do with✅
Bro I have to say you are THE best bedrock redstone creator to date man I’ve been playing for 10 years and your farms help me and my girlfriend so much in our world we have 4 built and I’m trying to get resources together for the monstrous spruce farm keep up the great work man mad respect
I just made your last minecart based ghast farm 2 days ago on my first day of having covid and now we have this that you probably made as I made that last farm. Also advice for anyone with nod spawning issues as they build this- put 2 big name tagged magma cubes into boxes underneath this. Break them up into tiny cubes. This will fill the mob cap and let you build stuff uninterrupted and you just kill the tiny cubes when done
Hello silent, awesome build, already better than my old creeper farm, but I've noticed sometimes ghast get sucked upwards, randomly they don't continue up. This happens at every level and random 6x6. It's chuck aligned, minecarts shakin, tridents bobbing. Everything done in the video is done in game. It's built in a realm, which has a bit of lag (the minecarts stop shaking some times). I think a glass ring, or semi ring around each layer would retain them when these like spike happen, but not sure. Ty for having the farm in the random despawns range because otherwise rates would be destroyed for me right now
I have a couple of issues. One is with the glass bar on top, the ghasts that get sent up to the trident killer on the edge of the farm, and dont get stuck in the trident chamber and escape. The other issue is that the ghast sometimes gets stuck in between two trident killers. Along with ghasts that spawn on the bottom platform, get sent up and then fly away. I chunk aligned it, built both sides, and all the platforms. Otherwise, it works 70% of the time. I've built so many of your farms, and sadly, this is the only one that has given me issues. I love what you do. Keep it up!
i found the fix. all you need to do is move the kill chamber down one block and it fixed it for me. he moved it down without showing in the video and when i copied him it fixed the issue. just move everything past 15:04 down one block and it works perfectly from what i see
Amazing farm, if your having trouble getting the trident killers to work make sure to place the repeater a few blocks before any trap door or directly afterwards, I tried placing the repeaters right before each set of trap doors and it the tridents wouldn’t set up until I moved them
Congrats on 500K Subscribers! Here's to a million! 🎉 Also, perfect timing on this guide (as usual). I am going to make this farm on my multiplayer world so I can sell TNT for cheap!
Incredible farm! Thanks! I made a collection system that slides all the items to a chest next to the lever using blue ice and sticky pistons to avoid walking all the way to pick them up on each side. Other than that, this is awesome. Thanks a lot!
Ok got it built and working; a few thoughts 1. I like to build UP in survival, so I did, but I ended up only building two platforms anyway. 2. If you just want a few stacks of ghast tears ever build like 1/4 of the farm, I did two platforms on one side and have my stacks after a few minutes. If I were to do it again I'd build it taller and narrower instead of short and wide, for fewer killers, each killer is a potential point of failure. 3. If ghasts are escaping you are probably missing one or more minecarts from those kill chambers. sometimes throwing in the trident will accidentally break a minecart. 4. the xp orbs were lagging my device badly so I used a command block on repeat to kill them every few seconds. if you dont have cheats enabled maybe try a sculk catalyst? but don't turn your farm into sculk by accident. 5. to throw the tridents I leave the farm on but break the redstone dust before I throw, then fix, and watch the tridents to make sure they don't fall into the glass, then they stop working. (Dispensors to rethrow?) 6. You can reduce lag a bit by slowing the clock down. Most standard clocks wont' work though, e.g. a repeater clock, because it has to output a one tick pulse. If the trapdoors stay open longer than one tick the tridents fall down and the killer breaks. I used an observer+repeater clock on 3 ticks. The ghasts still die promptly and the rate isn't significantly affected in my 1/4 size farm. You could use a repeater clock if you used an observer to convert the clock signal to pulses to drive the trapdoors; that would also double the clock frequency. 6. I used glass blocks to trap the minecarts on top of their scaffolds. I moved the levers to the sides to accomodate this. This keeps the ghasts from knocking the minecarts down. Leaves would also work. 7. I built it a bit lower down than suggested after checking that there were no caves under my lava lake since I was having a hard time finding a high enough space. 8. Consider a minecart railline to take you to the farm for item collection & service. It's a long sneak even with swiftsneak, a sketchy elytra landing, and falling in the lava over and over sucks. 9. Foxynotail's marker pack is great for this farm 10. Set up a lodestone and put a linked compass in your ender chest for recovery. Also set up a respawn anchor if possible. And a beacon. 11. Have platforms to climb out of the lava onto, spawnproof with stone pressureplates, use scaffolding to climb back up or rockets+elytra. 3x3 to keep scaffolding from burning. 12. Carpet to spawnproof misc stuff away from lava (or slabs or pressure plates or whatever) One final note; this is one of the more difficult silentwhisperer farms to operate that I've built. It's very easy to accidentally break a minecart and get escapees, or to mess up the redstone or leave during operation and have one or more tridents fall down. And building in the nether is always challanging. Highly suggest taking advantage of peaceful mode during building & trident throwing to save your sanity. Update: I fixed several issues by providing a separate clock source for each chunk in the trapdoor killer. Redstone clock signals don't seem to propagate reliably across chunk borders in high lag situations. This change helps the rate by killing faster and it helps reduce the number of tridents that fall down when you crash out of the game. I added a second redstone slab line down the whole farm to disable the clocks. I also used observer/repeater clocks so the output is always exactly one tick even if you are messing with stuff.
Pro tip if you need to do major repair: Temporarily turn off the activator rails (moving minecarts) for the lower levels and go back and forth until the ghasts are stuck down there. Don't forget plenty of invisibility potion!
@@javiervasquez29Not always an option if playing on a server, but yes, if you have permissions and if it doesn't feel like cheating then that works too.
This worked really well, but I switch the trapdoor trident killers for piston killers like in the op guardian farm and it worked much better. Great farm, a thank you so much!!
Built today in 1.20.3 following exactly as tutorial said. Works perfectly. Only built half so far but will be building the other half soon. Need all the TNT…. Only thing that didn’t line up but wasn’t a part of the tutorial was the redstone line to afk spot. I had to go one higher with torch tower, not sure why and my lamp is reversed (lit when farm is off). Doesn’t bother the rates so I don’t care lol
came up to the exact same issue of the redstone line not lining up, i realized the jumpcut at 17:15 he moves the killing chambers down one but as long as it still works then it didnt change anything
15:05 When you show us this part, this collection system and trident killers are 1 block higher than your final build and one block higher than the build at 18:00. I have alot of ghasts escaping :(
I'm about to have all of the materials to build this soon. At what point should I keep an eye out to not build one block too high? Is it from the get-go, or is there somewhere during the build process that an extra block of height is added accidentally? If you know, that is. If not, hopefully Silent can address this. 😅
I built it exactly the same ast the tutorial, including the 1 block mistake, and it works fine. I've had ghast escape because of 1. Accidentally forgetting to put a second minecart in one of the kill chambers 2. The minecarts moving because of dumb bedrock and 2 ghasts at the same time. I put half slabs behind the rails and it seems to be working, but I think the rates went down.
Great farm silent. Since I am forgetful, I used a pressure plate on the afk spot to turn the farm's trident killers on/off. For the first time ever, the sound of ghasts is music to my ears!
If your ghasts are flying out of the farm even with the bar of glass you either forgot to put a second minecart in the kill chamber or the tridents broke the minecarts and that can happen if you don’t throw the tridents right! I always throw them at the center of the trapdoor and I mean the exact center!! I recommend using oak trap doors because you can see the middle of the trapdoor a lot better than you can a spruce trapdoor or some other trapdoor! If your ghasts still aren’t getting killed you need to double check your trapdoors and make sure that they flick up towards the south, or your trapdoors are flicking too slow and that’s because your repeaters are on either 2 tick, 3 tick or 4 tick. That can actually break the trident killers and then the tridents might break the minecarts. You HAVE TO REPLACE THE MINECARTS unless you want ghasts escaping! And also you have to rethrow the tridents!!!! Hope this helps anyone that’s having trouble :)
farm works decent but need an updated video of the platforms so I can get maximum rates brother please help farm is no where near as efficient as I had hoped
Quick heads up. I built everything by design but went for looks on my trapdoors and spruce trapdoors don’t work so if you are running into same issue try changing trapdoors to oak and redo tridents. Works like a charm then. Thank you Silent for the vids. Been working your designs about a year now. Keep up the great work!
Loved the build. I only built the top two layers of one side and got over 2k per hour. The only glitch I have experienced was minecarts eventually falling off the rails during long AFK sessions. Whatever is happening seems to be rare and random. I ran a test session for several hours. Then I had one fall off in an hour in another session. In my longest session (about 10 hours), I came back to find one cart completely missing and three others on the platform. All the derailed carts were on the upper spawn deck. Still, a great design. I have a dozen double chests of gunpowder and tons of ghast tears
Hey Silent! Love your farms, always build at least one in my survival server... for some reason my trident killers aren't working. If I have a full layer above the ghasts would it work the same as the glass, or should it only be glass above?
Having the same issue , some tridents are killing them then others arent its really odd , i tried using pistons they all just escaped im not sure what to do mate
Silent is excellent for putting in all the testing work!!! Like take a second to realize that although grubaguy is credited for the mechanic, silent spends considerable time and effort building and testing versions of his farms to maximize efficiency!!!! You silent are amazing dude!
Hey Silent, don't know if you'll see this but I've built the farm and it works great except after afking a while some of the minecarts on the south side seem to move and fall off the scaffolding. Any suggestions for how to fix this as it is obviously not ideal for long afk sessions? Thanks. Edit: this issue does actually affect both sides but, as another commenter said, adding leaves on the exposed end of the top level of rails does seem to have fixed the issue.
About 3/4 of the way through this and needed to take a break. If i had to do this again i would do the main level then the The top level kill chambers. For some reason going in order caused a ton of lag on my ps5 making the hopper run absolutely miserable. Great tip on the nametags and awesome tutorial.
So OP. Thanks! One suggestion; in survival I think it’s a lot easier to start with the bottom platform and build up; building down is always challenging esp in the nether since you can’t place water. So I will probably also lay out my chunk makers at the bottom level. Also would it work to use a hopper cart on a rail line instead of that wicked long hopper line?
Hey bro u are totally insane, making such farms in bedrock edition is out of league for most of the people.I hope the future bedrock edition gets even better farms than this.Love your farms from the utmost of my heart.
Not that you needed any ideas for content, but I'd love to see ideas for decorating and user-friendly-atizing ( oh god, that one got away from me ) this and all your other builds. Portals, walkways, map art, doors, storage, theming, etc. To be clear, I think these redstone tutorials are perfect. Exactly the steps and materials necessary without fluff. I'm just saying I'd watch a second video about each tutorial where you discuss possibilities, real world implications, and possible tweaks to make them more user friendly, more aesthetically pleasing, more robust against random mobs that might do damage. For instance, I took a recommendation from the comments on your iron farm trading hall to put the villagers on the inside to better protect them from mobs in case a user ever left a trapdoor open. On this farm, it would be cool to see the implications of walkways and storage access discussed further. Anyway, another great one. Thanks!
yes, showcasing these farms in a let's play series, with ideas for decoration/theming and example projects of what to use the TNT for would be good. A little like the bedrock guides that Blujay Games and prowl8413 did but maybe taking it a bit further
nice design silent the only issue that i had with similar design to this was exp orbs they gathering up pretty quickly and my phone couldn't handle it i tried to fix it with sculk catalyst and it was more disaster with that
@@syntax2679 y well i know i just said in case if anyone have not really good device or on multiplayer server they gotta be careful with this design cuz exp orb will stay for 5 minute before they despawn if im not wrong
@@syntax2679 it definitely is a major downside to this farm, xp not being collected. Sadly there's no non ridiculous way to collect the xp. On any device the xp will accumulate enough to cause major lag given enough time.
Still works! Required lots of messing around with after setup to make perfect. The tridents have to be thrown in a perfect way . However after 15 mins of messing with the farm we had 10 stacks of gunpowder😂
Have you got any more details? Mine was working but I had to re throw the tridents and can’t now get them to drop horizontal when I turn the redstone on.
Is this still working for anyone? I'm having a lot of trouble with the trident killers. They seem to break randomly for no apparent reason. I'll have some chambers working but inevitably the mob cap it met when they all end up in a broken one. The broken one of course changes every time i rethrow the tridents. I have it set up so it is only active when I'm in the AFK spot. Everything should be chunk aligned. I don't really get what's wrong. I spent like a whole day on this and then some, and I'm really at a loss. OMG! Finally. I figured it out. One of my repeaters had been set to two ticks. This combined with some of the finickiness as I got used to it definitely obfuscated where the problem was really coming from. If the trap doors are opened for more than a tick the tridents fall through. I found this out when I tested the circuit with a torch and noticed the tridents behind the bad repeater fell through like the others. I realized then that the trapdoors really need to be kept closed at all times with tridents in them except for the 1 tick intervals in use. Wow!
Alright so I was collecting the materials in the description and it was all so easy then I saw ONE COMPARATOR!? I'm not just made of redstone silent, how could you put the most expensive thing at the end of the list 😭
Hey silent whisperer, does it matter if the farm is running from east to west or west to east. Or does it have to be north to south or south to north. Thanks
Excellent tutorial! Thanks for all the time and builds you share with us! This is third iteration of ghast farm from Silent that will be in my world!. As always, #PieIsTheBest !
Ok, I think I found a fix for the minecarts moving. At first I tried half slabs/blocks behind the minecarts, which did work, but it definitely hurt the rates. Then I tried scaffolding since that won't hurt spawns, but the minecarts will move through them. I thought I'd just have to live with it, but then I thought about leaf blocks. Surprisingly, that actually works! It keeps the carts from moving AND my spawn rates went back up.
@@Elijahthedoodler I moved the levers to the side and blocked the track ends with glass, works good. I do get a ghast escapee now and then, still debugging that. could be a missing minecart, occasionally they break when you throw a trident. For now I just pick them off with my bow but it will be an issue for full AFK. It's a finicky farm. I probably won't run it nich anyway, just want a few stacks of tears for potions.
@@Elijahthedoodler it seems like the escapes are just lag, they are very rare and there is no pattern. Also get the odd trident randomly falling down. This is a great farm for tears if you build half or less but too unreliable for gunpowder and I already get a lot from my other farms so probably going to take my 3 shulkers of tears and leave this farm forever. Thrilled with my tears though, that's what I mainly wanted.
His all purpose mob farm also makes a LOT of gunpowder, so if you don't care about ghast tears, that could be an alternative build that also gives lots of string, bones, rotten flesh, arrows, etc.
The video title is "Minecraft Bedrock: Improved Hostile Mob Farm Tutorial! 11k Items/Hour! Exp And Looting! MCPE Xbox" A couple item sorters and a trash can to destroy the overflow make it absolutely incredible.
@@JumpsPresents ok I’ll think about building the all purpose mob farm, I might build both so I’ve got a lot of resources, so I won’t need to worry about getting ghast tears, bones, rotten flesh arrows and etc, thanks❤
hey silent i just downloaded the world download and i noticed that sometimes ghast wouldnt end up being killed and then when i went to check it out everything was turned on and the ghasts were in the minecarts but the trident killers werent killing them, do you know if there is a reason for this?
This works in 1.20. Be sure to buikd the entire farm in same north to sotuh direction. Otherwise you will end up having no way to build the trap doors and the spawn 6x6 area in the cirrect orientation.
I am having a lot of trouble with the tridents only killing some ghosts and a lot of the ghosts keep escaping out of the front... can anyone please help me?
(Yes it MOSTLY works!!! +1.19 Bedrock) Finally finished the first half of the farm, the ONLY issue I’m having right now is the tridents stop killing the ghasts. I’m not sure why, it’s kind of random at the moment. Except If I lag out, get disconnected, forget to turn it off and leave or go just outside render range and come back, ALL the tridents are like out of place and don’t kill the ghasts. I’ve replaced all the tridents, and it seems easier to do so when the farm is running because when they stay sticking up in the air like shown in your video @20:19 they don’t work or kill the ghasts. If I have the farm on and place them and they don’t lay down flat after being thrown onto the trapdoor/glass block; then I know I have to pick it up and reset it. I’ve watched this videos hours and hours on end over the last couple weeks trying to build it on my family’s survival realm; and when it works, IT WORKS!!!!! Any fixes or ideas on the tridents glitching though, I know I built this farm to the T!
Also P.S. Don’t route your on off redstone lamp block right next to your hoppers for your storage, you’ll lock it and it won’t let anything pass. Hahaha it was tense times building this in my area and I spaced it, so hope that helps! Haha
Hey Seth, I'm suffering through the same issue where the tridents don't seat horizontally like in the tutorial. I've tried replacing them 3times, it's such a hassle. Any thoughts @silentwisperer
Same issue. Some tridents stop killing randomly and all stop if the chunk is reloaded. North facing farm, trapdoors aligned properly, and the trident lays down at first and kills effectively only to stick up and stop. Seriously considering just using wither roses and taking the less drops. Also saves the EXP lag.
@@DrMcFlurry wait, could you elaborate on the wither roses? For now I’m building an overworld creeper farm in a huge desert with a large sugarcane farm for a gunpowder/rocket/TNT factory until the ghast farm works dependably. Would I just place a wither rose where the trapdoors are on the ghast farm?
Use a separate clock for each chunk in the killer. High speed redstone signals don't propagate reliably across chunk boundaries. This will ensure the killers run fast and reduce tridents falling down. Use observer/repeater clocks so the output is always 1 tick. Run a 2nd slab line to carry disable signal. Disable the observer input so the output stays low and the doors stay closed when not running.
Personally I've made this farm on bedrock.. (Nintendo switch) .. The numbers produced are literally incredible. But the lag an the upkeep too keep the farm running is crazy. Not to mention all trident killers never work, nor do all the killing chambers. Overall this is a very great farm! An I will be making one in my Java addition for sure in which I will even have the balls to go with both sides then. Thanks for the video!
The lag is bcz of XP orbs, not a big deal just needs a minor fix. Replace the solid blocks near trident killers with Skulk Catalyst blocks. I'm on a 6 yrs old Android and in the beginning having the same issue, ghasts would sometimes just freeze there for few moments and won't die. Applying this fix made the farm superfast.
I am having trouble with ghosts escaping at the top. I have two mine carts in each slot but the ghosts make it to the top and then pop right out. It worked perfectly for about 5 minutes and then they started popping out. (On Xbox)
*UPGRADED DESIGN!* Simpler, cheaper, more reliable:) ua-cam.com/video/18leqjHCf0s/v-deo.html
*FIX:* 1.21 changed mob spawning slightly, so ghasts wont always get into the carts. You need to remove a layer of blocks to the South West of the 6x6 spawning platforms: ua-cam.com/video/texT1uisbPY/v-deo.html
Thanks for watching peeps! Hopefully this farm serves you well, I'm really happy with how it turned out! What are you gonna do with 4400 fun powder an hour 🤔💣 If you wanna see more tutorials like this, share the video! Drop a like or maybe subscribe! It helps out so much 🥰
*NOTE:* If the trident killer(s) are not working, you need to pickup and rethrow the tridents. They may have "fallen down". this is why you need to stand at the afk spot while the trident killers are active:)
Fun powder
Could this transport mechanic be used to make an overpowered mob farm or something?
I don't need rockets I need tnt

As I was about to finish the other ghast farm, this showed up and now my farm feels useless. What a timing lol.

Together with this and the dripleaf sand duper I'll be a TNT mad lad! Great design, thanks Silent! 💥

Thank you silent for this awesome farm. When I started playing Minecraft I never would have thought I'd build a ghast farm because they look intimidating but your easy to follow tutorials make all these kind of intimidating farms look totally doable. Next thing on my list is...tunnel bore!
Does it work 1.20?
same!
lol same. Need this build for tnt, and a tunnel bore is basically necessary to supply netherite to a whole realm.
So I also just finished building this (PC Bedrock, latest version).
With Looting III sword I got 5 stacks + 8 gunpowder in 10 minutes, which would approximate to ~1968 gunpowder per hour. This is for
one side of the farm, I did not build the second one. Also some ghasts still spawned on some natural platform below the farm, so possibly the
rate can be higher if the area is optimal.
Some tips/insights on top of those recently shared by others:
Here are the issues I faced and how I fixed them:

Maybe watch the entire video before making it
@@Daszuhorer it was entirely my mistake for getting ahead of myself before watching the whole thing. You're right.
@@TannerBlayze56 yeah, done that before too
If you guys are concerned about leaving the farm running when you leave, run the power line under pressure plates at the AFK spot.
oooooo! fantastic idea!!!
Great idea
Thats a really good idea
we dont deserve you
Thats actually a great idea, will think about it
Works like a CHARM!!!
Nope, I’m %100 facing/built everything correctly so I’m not sure why my tridents aren’t really working dependably.
I find this to be important to share for the 1.21 5×5 (as I built it in a sim 4):
9:52 each of these two red glass will be the centers of sides of the first two squares. Then from each square expand by 5 squares in each side of the platform; to get a total of 12 squares in the front. Expanding the platrom backward, the number of the squares is 6 ( 3 sqaures less than the front from each side).
(I keep editing here.. what a tragedy lol)
Anyway, I think with this big change the farm is no longer directional unless for trapdoor killers themselves (which for some is not working, like for me tridents keep falling from trapdoors so I used pistons instead), still I need someone to confirm this
no way... i just built this 9 days before the release.... guess ill be running it non-stop till then
@@eranab2702 Pro tip: Updating to 1.21, go to every 6×6 square, let the scaffolding be the center of 5×5, then any block out of this (i.e. the south and east sides of the 6×6) spawn proof it by button/slabs/etc.
@@rayansawly3297hey, please can you go into more detail on how you did this as I’ve just tried but I’m not getting any ghast spawns now?
@@WishMcgeeyeah that doesn’t work. ghasts need a 5x5 space to spawn, and with the scaffolding in the way pretty sure doing that would break the farm
@@WishMcgeeYou mean spawn proofing the extra blocks??
I habe the Problem that the trident Killer, breaks my minecart Everthing
what do you mean
Thanks, this worked much better than the trapdoors for me
@Harmony Chiguvo Have a piston pointing down so it extends to the piece of glass where the trapdoor would have been. Throw a trident into the piece of glass, and the trident should flatten when the farm is turned on. Sorry if you don't get this either, I'm not good at explaining things
@@DistilledDonut thanks bro, j already finished this farm, using the piston design from his old video. The farm works well, but some ghosts escape

I JUST DECIDED I NEEDED THIS YESTERDAY! Perfect timing!
I saw you work this out on Tuesdays stream, was waiting for it! Great job Silent.
An awesome tip to reduce lag in this farm,
Instead of solid blocks near trident killers use Skulk catalyst block and then continue your redstone line on top of it as it was. It will destroy all the XP and significantly speed up the farm.
Good idea
Thanks that helped
Thanks this really helped me

Keep it up!
Mojang changed Ghasts spawning mechanics in 1.21
i found the fix. all you need to do is move the kill chamber down one block and it fixed it for me. he moved it down without showing in the video and when i copied him it fixed the issue. just move everything past 15:04 down one block and it works perfectly from what i see

Silent is GOAT, I'm gonna have to try this out. Getting real tired of waiting on the crazy slow rates of creeper design
Ok got it built and working; a few thoughts
(Dispensors to rethrow?)
9. Foxynotail's marker pack is great for this farm
12. Carpet to spawnproof misc stuff away from lava (or slabs or pressure plates or whatever)
One final note; this is one of the more difficult silentwhisperer farms to operate that I've built.
I know im a littel late to this but whats the Command For Deleting XP Orbs i cant seem to find it?

Well that solves the ghasts going up problem that you were having in the stream. Take the bug and make it a feature. Truly the bugrock way.
15:05 When you show us this part, this collection system and trident killers are 1 block higher than your final build and one block higher than the build at 18:00. I have alot of ghasts escaping :(
I don’t like these bedrock farms. They are always so flawed and so complicated
@@xJollyLlama I cannot see the 1 block difference noted by Daedalus.
Same issue, was going crazy trying to figure out my discrepancy with the vertical red stone, then ghasts escaping too
Great farm silent. Since I am forgetful, I used a pressure plate on the afk spot to turn the farm's trident killers on/off. For the first time ever, the sound of ghasts is music to my ears!
does it still work in 1.20?
My saviour I love you
Silent: "They are the fastest ghasts alive."

I’m building this right now when is the fix for 1.21 video coming?
Quick heads up. I built everything by design but went for looks on my trapdoors and spruce trapdoors don’t work so if you are running into same issue try changing trapdoors to oak and redo tridents. Works like a charm then. Thank you Silent for the vids. Been working your designs about a year now. Keep up the great work!
trapdoor type doesn't matter, the direction you place them does matter though 👍
U sure that was the problem?
@@silentwisperer I also used spruce trap doors and after awhile the tridents stop kill the ghasts
For such a simple farm it's crazy efficient, it solidifies my belief that ghast farms beat creeper only farms every time
Hey Silent! Love your farms, always build at least one in my survival server... for some reason my trident killers aren't working. If I have a full layer above the ghasts would it work the same as the glass, or should it only be glass above?

I just put down lava and swim in it, if you have at least one piece of Fire protection then you will be okay, or just do what you said

A little like the bedrock guides that Blujay Games and prowl8413 did but maybe taking it a bit further

they gathering up pretty quickly and my phone couldn't handle it
i tried to fix it with sculk catalyst and it was more disaster with that
Sounds like a hardware issue
@@syntax2679 y well i know
i just said in case if anyone have not really good device
or on multiplayer server
they gotta be careful with this design cuz exp orb will stay for 5 minute before they despawn if im not wrong
@@syntax2679 it definitely is a major downside to this farm, xp not being collected. Sadly there's no non ridiculous way to collect the xp.
On any device the xp will accumulate enough to cause major lag given enough time.
I swear I watched your old gast farm this morning! 😂

Just finished building on Xbox work beautifully, mine carts are the most important part so make sure u place them well
I never thought gunpowder farms could be so simple, yet so efficient & powerful! Great tutorial!!
To fix your farm just remove the blocks at the spawning areas so that the scaffolding is centered on a 5x5 square. THATS ALL YOU NEED TO CHANGE!!
Thanks. Very easy fix
What do u mean spawning areas ngl I’m stupid
@@paidpain the bottom areas platforms that contain the activator carts.
@@ejreese9255so just make it 5x5 instead of 6x6?
@Zenxthy yessir. I'd just make it exactly like the video then remove the blocks so everything is lined up perfectly.
Tysm I was about to make your old tutorial but this alot more simple and efficient thanks
Wow!
thanks for the update! glad this is still working
Love it ! Now to brave the Nether to build it 😱
Yes I need a better gunpowder farm thank you!

Silent whisper: "your tears will make a fine edition to my collection"
Alright so I was collecting the materials in the description and it was all so easy then I saw ONE COMPARATOR!? I'm not just made of redstone silent, how could you put the most expensive thing at the end of the list 😭
Silent I would love to build this, but I love how your old minecart design looks plus it’s still pretty good rates.
yeah the original minecart farm is one of my favorites haha
Hey silent whisperer, does it matter if the farm is running from east to west or west to east. Or does it have to be north to south or south to north. Thanks
I did mine east west and it worked.
Glass probably works
Where did u put the leaves? Since I might have to do that
@@Elijahthedoodler I moved the levers to the side and blocked the track ends with glass, works good.
Thx
@@Elijahthedoodler it seems like the escapes are just lag, they are very rare and there is no pattern. Also get the odd trident randomly falling down. This is a great farm for tears if you build half or less but too unreliable for gunpowder and I already get a lot from my other farms so probably going to take my 3 shulkers of tears and leave this farm forever. Thrilled with my tears though, that's what I mainly wanted.
Just finished the ghast farm and omg it is insane 😏 thanks for the
tutorial silent 😊
What’s your gunpowder drop rate, curious if you are getting what is advertise of about 4,400 an hour
@@pinkzki6473 2273 for one side of the farm 4565 for both sides of the farm
My creeper farm is so bad, it only produces around 10 stacks of gunpowder an hour, I’m definitely going to build this ❤
His all purpose mob farm also makes a LOT of gunpowder, so if you don't care about ghast tears, that could be an alternative build that also gives lots of string, bones, rotten flesh, arrows, etc.
The video title is
"Minecraft Bedrock: Improved Hostile Mob Farm Tutorial! 11k Items/Hour! Exp And Looting! MCPE Xbox"
A couple item sorters and a trash can to destroy the overflow make it absolutely incredible.
Creeper farms are useless on bedrock lol, ghast farm or general farm only lol
@@JumpsPresents ok I’ll think about building the all purpose mob farm, I might build both so I’ve got a lot of resources, so I won’t need to worry about getting ghast tears, bones, rotten flesh arrows and etc, thanks❤
@@kalancosta7650 ikr, but there’re good starter farms for getting stacked
I just finished making the old design and you droped this new design 🙂
Nice timing 🤧
Same just got done with the older version the other day 😔
Is it important that you start on Y:78? does it have something to do with where ghasts can spawn or is it just a convenient level?
It's to spawnproof the lava. So nothing can spawn in there
This farm is still rocking. Hasn’t broken once almost a year later! Dare I say…. Bedrock proof!!?!
hey silent i just downloaded the world download and i noticed that sometimes ghast wouldnt end up being killed and then when i went to check it out everything was turned on and the ghasts were in the minecarts but the trident killers werent killing them, do you know if there is a reason for this?
Hey, try picking up the tridents and throwing them back. And check the red stone line to see if its connected
@@AzamAli-qi7iy hey thanks for the help rethrowing all the tridents worked
@@zodias5547 Np. Glad it helped 🙏
I’m having the same exact problem and the minecarts on the scaffolding keep getting moved 😔
Rethrowing the tridents didn’t work
This works in 1.20.
I had this happen. I replaced the minecarts and tridents and then added 3 minecarts instead of 2. This seemed to fix it.
(Yes it MOSTLY works!!! +1.19 Bedrock)
Finally finished the first half of the farm, the ONLY issue I’m having right now is the tridents stop killing the ghasts.
The farm works but anyone else have the issue where the minecarts move? It happens like every 5 mins
Mine does not move at all is that normal?
It's supposed to move
@@ShamTakeProfityou need to activate the lever
Personally I've made this farm on bedrock.. (Nintendo switch) ..
The numbers produced are literally incredible.
But the lag an the upkeep too keep the farm running is crazy.
Not to mention all trident killers never work, nor do all the killing chambers.
Overall this is a very great farm! An I will be making one in my Java addition for sure in which I will even have the balls to go with both sides then.
Thanks for the video!
trident killers don't work in java. sorry to burst your bubble.
(On Xbox)
U fix it?
Could you replace the slaps with solid blocks ?
