    The vestibule on our tent is a life saver! Not very big but big enough to cook when it rains! Only had to really use it once so far but it was awesome! It's is a single wall tent so i just have to be sure to remember to zip up the door when i pack it away! Great tips sir!! 👌

    Jeremiah - Being a tall backpacker myself, I’d love to see a gear review from you that focuses on tall-people gear. Clothes, shelters, sleeping bags/quilts/pads, packs…etc.

      That would be helpful to all the tall people out there. I get so frustrated lol

    Another fun video to watch, your enthusiasm is always so infectious. Rule number one when camping in rainy weather, make sure your tent is zipped up nice and tight. My brother turned ours into a shallow swimming pool. Glad to see you back at it. Cheers and stay safe.

    Jeremiah, not sure you find yourself over in the Mount Rogers or Roan Mountain areas any, but they're fantastic. I moved over to Abingdon Virginia from Eastern Kentucky several years ago and fell in love with those two mountain ranges. Not many places I haven't been to and some of the best overnight backpacking I've found in the surrounding states

      @@JeremiahStringer Ah! It indeed sounds like a more Southern US accent, yet also a bit Dutch in intonation (as in from Holland, Europe). I am Dutch - that was why wondered... Who knows influences from your ancestors, or just my imagination. :-)

    how does that tent work for a tall guy?

    • @JeremiahStringer
      @JeremiahStringer  2 роки тому

      I fit in it at 6'3". It's double wall so I don't have to worry about condensation getting me wet if I rub up against the end of the inside luckily

    Every youtube video iv seen of campers cooking when it's raining, is then doing it in their vestibule, isn't that not recommended due to animals or bears ? Does it not matter if your just heating up water to pour into your freeze dried food bag thar will be packed away in your bear bag at the end of the day ?

    • @JeremiahStringer
      @JeremiahStringer  2 роки тому +1

      I don't think it's a big deal to cook in the vestibule. There is quite a bit of ventilation

      @@JeremiahStringer OK brother I will assist with no disrespect intended you say in the video that you can talk about the tent the all day long and I just found that to be a hindrance to one's Sales Pitch that's all as looking at the video I just do not see all these features to talk about that's all hope and trust you do well I am often silly like this but blunt..🤗

    ..... Tips are pretty sound ,, but it doesn't matter if you use a ground tent or a hammock,, hang a tarp up first then bring out the gear and set up under it ,, completely dry .. overhead tarp will protect throughout the night and when you're ready to roll up ...
    ...if you are on MY mountain and want to listen to phone podcasts or movies ,, be sure to bring ear buds or head muffs .. myself and the wildlife around do NOT care to hear voices or music ,,unless it's coming from the Heavens ... there is No internet signal up here ,, so leave the phone at home .. not even going to comment on external speakers.........learn to whittle ...

    An even better way to keep dry is to NOT use a inner pitch first tent that way you keep your inner tent DRY. I just don't understand why anyone would want to pitch inner tent first ........total madness and stupidity.
