Barbie The Welder is an American metal sculptor, published author of six books, and an advocate for the skilled trades from Pompano Beach, Florida.
Growing up in a deeply creative home, Barbie’s Mom is a published cartoonist and her Dad a jack of all trades, Barbie was encouraged by both parents to work with her hands and mind to create. Inspired by the movie Cast Away, starring Tom hanks, Barbie attended an adult welding program at Elmira, New York Boces in November 2007 and was hired at Cameron Manufacturing And Design in Horseheads, New York in March 2008 where she learned the art of welding and fabrication from the brilliant craftsman she worked with. Barbie took her fabrication skills home and taught herself how to design and create art in her garage after work at night and on the weekends.
Barbie quit her job she loved to realize her dream and become a full-time artist September 1, 2014.
Because of the influence Bob Ross had on her growing up, Barbie began teaching how to weld art through her UA-cam channel in 2015 after not being able to find resources to learn.
Soon after she was invited by a publisher to write a book teaching how to weld art, and How To Weld Horseshoe Art; 30 Projects You Can Easily Weld At Home was born. Barbie went on to write and self publish five more books, How To Weld Scrap Metal Art; 30 Easy Welding Projects You Could Make At Home, How To Weld Silverware Animals Metal Art Welding Projects For Fun and Profit, The Inspiration Blueprint; How To Design and Create Your Inspired Life, Fuck You Fuel; How To Turn Shit Into Sugar, and The Artist Guide To Branding, Marketing and Selling Art Online.
Working with Bogi Latiner for a month in 2017 on Bogi’s Girl Gang Garage all woman’s frame up build of a 57 Chevy pick up later unveiled at Sema became a mentorship for Barbie that continues to help her grow herself and her business. Barbies other inspirations include Indian Larry and Billy Lane both who caught her attention through the TV series biker build off in early 2000. The craftsmanship and creativity of both men spoke to her soul.
Barbie started out riding on the gas tank of her dad‘s Honda motorcycle because she was too little to hold on sitting behind him, so when she was asked by Jesse James Dupree, lead singer of Jackyl, to design and create two sculptures for Harley Davidson she jumped at the chance driving the 24 hours to Sturgis by herself from NY and sculpting HOGs 35th anniversary sculpture live at Sturgis motorcycle rally at the Pappy Hoyle Campground and then she returned home to sculpt Harley Davidson’s 115th anniversary sculpture in her garage which was later presented to Harley Davidson on stage during the Jackyl concert at the 115 anniversary celebration in Milwaukee.
Barbie has welded live at Americade Motorcycle Rally, SEMA show in Vegas for Miller Welders, Harley Davidsons 115th Anniversary, and at shows and events up and down the east coast.
Barbie has designed and created sculptures for Miller Welders, the American Welding Society, Chicago Pneumatic, Carolina Shoe Company, two cities and clients in many countries.

Great result and what colors🥰. I can't do anything more than watch Barbie videos on vacation😉😘😍🔥
Enjoy your vacation my friend!!
Very cool.👍
Good
Barbie, Wow!! That Black Widow rocks!! So do you!! It is really nice to see someone who has TALENT and is humble about it. Too many people out there who are so full of themselves, that their message get's lost in the BS. Keep up your outstanding work and keep smiling!!
+Robert Younghusband Thank you kindly!
Especially liked the speed racer foot peddle shot . Cool spider too
+mcghanconcrete Go Speed go!😉
Another great looking peace of steel art.
😁👍👍👍😨spider.....
Really like the color after sanding!
This young lady is talented and quite the charmer. Like the foot control pedal shot with the high-heeled work boots - presumably steel-toed. Extra wide Steelettos?
Excellent, that's the Tig I just bought things pretty awesome.
Seeing you do the helmet flip reminded me that 1963impala2dr did a helmet flip video for my wife, mrshevyshevy. He's a good feller.
👍👍cool ! Also like the modified hold down / ground 🍻
that looks so awesome!!!!! great video!
Awesome! Just in time for Halloween. Good job!
Excellent !!! your work.
I send you a hug from Argentina.
You are the best
awesome!
+1963impala2dr You're my inspiration for this one! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!😊
Congrats on the TIG!
+silveravnt Love it!
Love your work. There are some really good shapers on youtube doing car restoration work. Look up Ron Covell, I learned from his books in the early 90's. Haven't done sculpture in years but your videos have inspired me to get my gas torch sorted out in the christmas break. In my opinion gas is the best welding method for sculpture as you can use it to make melted features and fuse weld with no filler in many cases.
+Superior Etchworx Thank you kindly! I got to see Ron out at SEMA
i was going to ask if you used tig but now i won't,hoping to learn tig as soon as a foot pedal is in the budget. awesome piece.
Wow im in love😈
This is really cool. I subscribed.
Thanks for the love!!!💙👩🏭
Had ago at this making a spider, came out ok
Cool project! Your channel is getting better and better! I like these quick videos. I like to think of them as short attention span theater. I'd love to know your thoughts on your Vulcan. Maybe a video on basics of the tig? I've played around with tig machines that were already set up but don't know a lot about them. I know a bunch of other folks are asking as well. I'm hoping to be in the market for one very soon. I'll probably go mig just because I'll be doing restoration on my Jeep and Galaxie and think that'd be a little better fit for my needs. Keep up the good work!!
Ratty 64galaxie Love it and I'll do a review for you soon!
Thanks for your videos. It's awesome to see you doing so well and willing to help the rest of us along the way. Very classy! Not sure how often you get a chance to see these comments but when/if you do could you tell us where you get your gloves? I've only found Charm and Hammer to have gloves that fit me without an inch of fabric off of my pinky and thumb.
Lol the glove struggle is real girl!! Miller makes size small gloves I love! I have also used leather drivers gloves, think they are cowhide. They are usually tan with a red border around the wrists. They are not gauntlet type gloves but the size small fit well and they are durable.
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like buying some "Tiger" brand cutting and linishing discs now :)
I miss you speaking more like in other videos and I especially miss that "Million-Dollar" smile of yours that lights up the screen and gives wings to my heart..
I was going to say the same about the narration.
+customprc I appreciate the feedback! My next video I will do that.
+silveravnt I'm learning as I go. I was afraid the videos were too long with the narration but hearing your feedback I will add some to keep the videos on the shorter side but keep it personal! Thank you!
Not at all we love to hear how you are doing what you are doing. This is very interesting stuff, well presented.
+silveravnt Thank you! I appreciate all feedback, I'm new to this and don't know what I'm doing! When y'all are honest with me about what you like and dislike it allows me to grow and learn the most!
Wow very nice project but can you do a review on the Vulcan tig welder and what kind of hold down are you using thank you
+DOHuster I love it and I definitely will!
Great job as ever but I prefer when I can ear your voice instead of the music
That spider is awesome!!! Can it be done with a MIG welder?
Thank you! Yes it can!!! You might have more grinding but it can be done!
@@BarbieTheWelder Thank you!!!! BTW, learning A LOT from you!
That’s awesome Jose I’m really excited for you and can’t wait to see what you’re going to create!
BarbieTheWelder
How do you like the Vulcan Pro Tig? Great build as usually.
+valveman12 Really liking it!! Gets the job done!
I saw them at Harbor Freight and the build quality (from the outside) looked very good.
The price quite reasonable even though I am a Canuck.
BTW: Do you know about the Metal Contest going on at Instructables?
You really should enter.
Miller is sponsoring it and first prize is a nice Miller Multimatic 215 and a classic rise helmet.

Nice! What positioned were you using?
What do you mean?
The one at 110 very nice
I’m sorry positioner
The positioner on your table
Ditto on the speaking. I know the freebies are nice but this one was akin to an infomercial.
Just saying.
Other that that, cool spidey!!!
+xzaviar1965 I am learning every day. I appreciate your feedback, your honesty will help me make better videos for you!
Back off the noisy music and describe the piece. You are too good for the crappy music...
I really appreciate your honest feedback! Thank you!
