  • Nick Joseph has choreographed for the world's most renowned Korean music artists and groups such as BTS, TXT, Enhypen, Super M, and more. It's wild to think that Nick didn't even want to be a choreographer at first, he just wanted to learn from the dancers he looked up to!

Love that Nick was part of Suga from BTS solo concert as a dancer. Thank you, Nick, for all your hard work keep going and we will keep watching.

As a 17 year old who is looking to come up as a dancer in a city where dance isn't big, this conversation was very enlightening and very interesting. Listening to kpop for its creativity seeing the music and one of my favorite choreographers mix was fun. Looking forward to more podcasts.

I loved this conversation so much so much wisdom from clays “you are worthy” to nicks “either I’m equipped and I just don’t know it or I’m gonna be equipped in the process” seriously amazing I love both of them so much, thank you guys for this. Came for the Korea arc and stayed for the wisdom ❤😂

so many things I love love love about this.
They spoke about so many lil aspects of dancing or even life that we all need to hear from someone else from time to time... the imposter syndrome, the process and work that goes into anything, acknowledging and accepting opportunities and people.
I really like Nick's approach to dance and everything not-dance in his life, so glad he also mentioned faith. And Clay I mean, I could listen to Clay talk for hours, he's so articulate and graceful in the way he arranges words and concepts. And there's so much knowledge, analysis, thought, insight backing anything he says
okay that was a short overwhelmed rant hehe. thank you Steezy for making dance approachable for all!

Everything about this podcast touched me deeply. There were so many messages I needed to hear, and i didn't expect that at all when I decided to watch. I'm not a dancer and don't watch or listen to podcasts of any sort usually, so landing here was serendipitous. I'm blown away at how wise Nick is at just 24. I've struggled with imposter syndrome for years and even tanked my decade-long career because of it, and after a year of trying to make peace with that, just this week i started taking steps to reclaim my path. I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you. Thanks to Steazy for creating this space and thanks to Nick for being such an inspiring and open guy. I'm so glad I got to see you on Suga's tour before I even knew just how amazing of a person you are! Borahae 💜

I love Nick's style. I've been watching his choreography since I watched Drunk- Dazed on Steezy. ENHYPEN is my daughter and mine favorite group because of the dances. Thank you Nick!! Because of Steezy and Nick my daughter and I spend time going to concerts and bonding over Kpop. ❤❤❤❤ lots of love

Hi, i am back. Good interview, ty. Oh i was not aware Nick Joseph was younger than JK of BTS. That is cool. I loved this conversation a lot. It really resonated with me. Made me think of Jin and BTS and their battles with imposter syndrome. Ty Nick for supporting Suga during his tour. U all slayed. I hope I get to see more of your choreo with BTS, TXT, Enhypen, Le SSERAFIM, New Jeans, etc. Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army 💟

Great conversation you two! I love to hear both of you talk about your experiences in the world of choreography. And selfishly I would love to hear Nick Joseph talk about his times with BTS, his choreo for them, the awards shows he worked on and how/what he created for them, etc. Also, are either of you planning on writing a book(s) about your careers? 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Clay, I searched for exactly this kind of video after realizing I was watching Nick in Jungkook's most recent videos. The irony that Nick was literally "Next to" Jungkook in his song "Next to You" was not lost on me. Even more telling to me was that I was by orders of magnitude more excited to see Nick Joseph dancing than the namesake celebrity. That's all thanks to the fantastic work you and your staff have made available for arts lovers like myself to delve into. Thank you for the layers of value that you personally and that you as a part of a larger community have brought into this world. 💝

Love the overall conversation about dealing with impostor syndrome. I am not a dancer by any means but I am in the visual arts, and even after working in it as a career for 15+ there are still things that scare me. I've been needing to push myself out of my comfort zone and try to reach for some of the things I've always wanted to do and I really needed to hear all of that. Thank you

I love this video. I want to work in Korea as a K-pop artist when I'm older and this video made it seem more plausible. I'm not sure what specifically but Nick's story is just generally quite inspirational and it brings up problems you would never normally think of. Thanks for this podcast and I hope everything works out for me and anyone reading this.

Hi @ Steezy, Clyde many of us would appreciate it if you could do an interview with Nick, Dom, Ian, Jake Kodish on what it was like working with Jungkook of BTS for the latter’s album Golden. They were on the MVs, dance practices, behind the scenes and other promotions done by JK in the U.S. and the U.K. Thanks and more power.

Nice to see the genius behind these group‘s success. Talent is beyond cultural and ethnic barriers, but recognition is not generous. Entertainment worldwide flows from what black people created in hip hop and R & B, and people like him should be recognized as well.

*Nick* : There's some tl;dr at the end which is actually relevant to this live. 😉
*Clay* : May I request a video about RM and Jin, please? They are reputed to be BTS's "worst" dancers because they had zero dance background. They may not have had natural expression or traditional education, but they never pulled focus or brought the group down. There are people (like me - and solo fans, unfortunately) who would like the story of their progression and improvement told. They are literally professional dancers now. (Some might argue that idols aren't pro dancers. These are the same hypocrites who insist BTS are pro artists - not carbon copy idols or lazy boy band booty shakers.) How does a person go from nothing to where they are today?
I hope you see the potential in this idea. Don't just say it's all practice and hard work, because I have no doubt that if you focus your professional eye on them you can go deeper in the assessment. I know the benchmarks are there. For instance, I remember the era Jin discovered his hips. 😜
    Thx! 😀💜
42:20 👋 GenXer here taking it upon myself to fill in a gap boomers left for brilliant GenZers. 🤓 "Don't put all your eggs in one basket." The gambling equivalent would be going all-in. In the past, people collected eggs from their hens in baskets. If they only had one basket and dropped it, they all broke. If they had two baskets and dropped one, they still had half of the eggs. Some are better than none. It's about risk and hedging your bets against a negative outcome.
