Every time I have listened to too much modern music/lyrics I search out this song to reset my brain to how lyrics can be. Its so playful, fun, intelligent, catchy, and takes you on a ride. Poitin is and isnt a whiskey, some forms of potin are the original whiskey, whiskey is just aged poitin. However potin can be made different ways and not all ways can be made in whiskey making, so its, technically its own drink. I liked this version it was fun.
For me, this version is void of the charm of the original song. It's so clean and well... Gentrified and English. Sorry. It's an Irish song about moonshine. This has the feel of a nursery rhyme.
