Bertha Theme Tune (1985) | Piano Bash

As requested by IainM, KastnerPianola, & Takacs Darius... it's Bertha! Produced by Ivor Wood, the man behind Postman Pat, Bertha was a children's animation about a machine in a factory that could produce any item requested of her. Only one series was ever made, originally broadcast on the BBC in 1985, but it has gained a wider audience through repeats and international distribution. The theme was sung by Guy Fletcher, who also composed "Power To All Our Friends" - Cliff Richard's 1973 Eurovision entry.

As a kid who grew up watching the reruns on GMTV2 (yeah, Imagine that, Bertha, which was originally a BBC show when it first aired in April 1985-August 1986, airing on ITV!), this is brilliant, TOM was my favourite character in it!

I used to watch Bertha as a kid so this is way up in there on the nostalgia scales. For some reason the tune reminds me of Victoria Wood. Really not sure why though. Good job.

Oh, and of the Pink Panther theme tune - found myself singing "panther pink from head to toe" to this tune. Also, Power To All Our Friends is a tune.

I grew up with a cassette tape of BBC Children's Themes (I've since obtained a CD copy of the same album and thus have all the tracks on my phone now) with the full track and I regularly sing along, Eve though I barely remember ever the TV show itself. I'm going to be looking to see if you've done Charlie Chalk now, Tim!
