Love that Ferrari had the guts to just go for the win. McLaren weren’t wrong to not take that punt, Leclerc was just awarded for bravery and tenacity
Once the McLaren's pitted, Ferrari had nothing to lose. Lewis was too far back, so even if they had to pit they'd probably end up 3 & 4.
It was a real hero or zero play by Ferrari to try and give the tifosi what they wanted. Impressive

@@greatsageclok-roo9013 A lot of infighting between fans of different drivers. Truth is McLaren had everything to lose and Charles didn't, and managed his tyres to perfection. Less of a bottle by McLaren than a Leclerc masterclass

@@connorstarnes2895 he’s got 2 wins this season and one pole in Monaco. The pole in spa doesn’t count since he didn’t earn it he just inherited it from Verstappen. Verstappen was the pole sitter at spa.
@@uvannaveen8237Pole position means P1 on the grid, not a win in qualifying. For example Schumacher's last pole was in 2006 and not in Monaco 2012.

I was multi-monitoring the race on F1TV. I had Charles's on-board on. You have no idea mate. The way he was straight lining parabolica, the feel and positioning of the car in the lesmos... everything was a masterclass in tyre whispering! I tell you this is Schumacher level driving. This will go up on the Marranello Hall of fame I kid you not. His performance engineers and the whole team including Jock Clear will be very proud. Charles is Special. He certainly is. Please give this drive the hype it deserves.

When I realized Ferrari was going for a 1 stop, I had to hop on stream. It was a magical sight seeing Matt and the tifosi at Monza going wild.

As a Piastri and a Ferrari Fan I can't do nothing more than congratulate Charles. This second Stint was nothing more than outstanding by Leclerc. Very well done Ferrari, you were unbelievable today!!!! And Charles, you truly are the King of Italy 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 this was a true champions drive, I was just speechless 🤯

I think Ferrari used Sainz as a decoy. They made the one-stop look slow, got the others to pit twice and then LeClerc zoomed off to victory on a one-stop. I’m willing to die on this hill!

The one stop was slow for Sainz though… He pitted a lot later than the top 3 but tyres fell off a lot a the end, he got overtaken by both Mclarens quite easily. Charles was just a masterclass in tyre management

Back in the day I was a Jos fan. I was at 135 bpm at the start of a GP once when he was with Benetton. Just sitting on the couch. It was probably less a few months later when I stood at the Kemmel braking zone.

Was watching the last 10 laps with just the view of the gaps between Leclerc and Piastri, he did amazing to not fall into Piastri’s clutches

As much as we all love to rag on Matt when Charles (or Ferrari) bottles a race, it’s also genuinely heartwarming seeing him so happy when Charles wins 🙌🏼 🍾

Mclaren didn’t fumble this. Ferrari just did a bold move and it worked. Imagine if mclaren did a one stop and it didn’t work, the whole internet would be clowning on them and told them they’re the biggest bottle jobs. You gotta give credit where credit is due and Ferrari deserve it this weekend for the strategy
I don’t think that Piastri had the tyres to make it to the end. Leclerc was catching by a couple tenths a lap before he pitted. I’m disappointed that Piastri didn’t win, but he still needs to be better with tyre management.
you NEVER stop first leading the race, with the gap they had they just had to wait for Leclerc to pit or not, Piastri had 1 lap younger tyres...
The calculation was 10s off. They turned a 5sec lead (before 2nd stop) into 5sec behind at the end.

They gave up track position when leading which is just silly.
They could have split the strategies, Piastri stays out, Lando comes in to try and catch Leclerc. Best case it's 1-2, worst case it's the same as it was today

Leclerc's tire management is great for a while now but in this race it's insane. And he is so fast while doing it. McLaren was faster, yet he saved tyres more than them and still kept contact with them.
Charles for me is ready for a championship. He gets all the emotional wins where the pressure is extremely high on him. In Monaco, in Monza. He withstands the pressure.

The fact that they decided to pit Charles 1 lap after Lando was a masterclass, they fooled the papayas into thinking that they would have done the same strategy.

Championship off. McLaren clearly don’t have the strategy to be able to pull off getting Lando to the top. They were gifted a chance to cut the points by a third and threw it away.
I don't fucking get it. As a Ferrari fan and Leclerc fan i don't GET IT. How can they be so STUPID to not play for the Championship. Whoever says that this Is right, that Is Lando's fault Is not a F1 fan, Is a buffoon. I do prefer oscar over Lando (even tho i like both of them a lot) but man you do not win Championships like that and as a team you should prioritize your driver ahead, like Mercedes, like Redbull, like Ferrari. You do not win by having two drivers going for the WC
@@alessandromazzini7026 after hungary, Webber and oscar have done something during the summer break because since then the team dynamics have changed. Seems like Stella is dead set against norris and is threatening him a lot and is acting like norris is ending his f1 career next year. They are making it clear that they think Lando has no chance in wdc and they will not be supporting him for the WDC. Even Zack was a bit weird in his interviews coz he never points out at Lando but this time he did.
I love all the blame being parceled onto Piastri for doing a clean overtake and not on Norris for not keeping it together.

Everyone suggesting that Oscar should help Lando win the Drivers' Championship is overlooking one key point: If Lando wins, Oscar gains nothing but stands to lose significantly. In fact, Oscar would likely do everything possible to prevent Lando from winning, and McLaren can’t stop him, no matter how much they want Lando to succeed. Here’s why: If Lando wins this year, 2025 will see the spotlight shift even more towards him. The media and fans will subconsciously label Oscar as the No. 2 driver, and internally, Lando could start receiving preferential treatment from the team, jeopardizing Oscar's 2025 title chances. History shows that being a teammate to a world champion is challenging, and Mark Webber, Oscar's manager, knows this well from his own experience as a No. 2 driver. He wouldn’t let that happen to Oscar and will likely ensure his contract protects him from being forced into a supporting role. To be clear, Oscar will cooperate if it’s about the Team Championship.
Exactly. Piastri has a long long career ahead of him. He needs to make sure he's not perceived as the #2 driver. He's got a championship mentality. It shows in how he speaks. Always wants to maximize. He wants to make sure he's perceived as championship material, either driving for McLaren or for someone else down the road. Sacrificing good standing with Lando for his entire future is exactly what the doctor prescribed.
That's BS, I think Oscar could win outright next year and it would be an even playing field, but right now Lando's the only one who has a chance of catching Max and McLaren and Oscar just aren't being team players after Lando gave up Hungary for Piastri's first win. McLaren are just a bunch of clowns.

Absolutely loved every second of this video. During the last 5 laps of the race I was with many tears filling my eyes. I’m a huge huge huge TIFOSI like you Matt and watching this video today made me re-live the same emotions as yesterday. How awesome of a feeling was it when we looked at the timing boards and realised that, “fuck me, we’re gonna win Monza with Charles at the wheel”! This race will be one that I remember until my grave #tifosi4eva🏁🏎️🏎️🔥

The fact Mclaren aren’t pulling orders to help the driver with a slim but a chance to gain as many points as possible and shrink the gap shows what they think of the drivers championship.
i was there,at Ascari's turn exit and trust me, last 5 laps were,are and always will be UNFORGETTABLE.
It was nearly 1am in Melbourne as I was watching and recording the race.
There was a huge storm happening as the race was ending and I had one leg out of bed praying that the power wasn't going to go out.
Just as they finished the podium, the shit hit the fan big time here.....power went out, and stayed out until 5pm the next day.

I love that Tommy said “If that’s allowed” about Oscar’s move. Lando said after the race that basically it wasn’t within Papaya rules so he didn’t defend/expect it. The “You need Oscar” is aging worse and worse

Considering Zack Brawn said on sky that it was withing papaya rules I am not sure we can take what he said at face value. Lando was probably pissed that it was another pole with a lost win. In the end if they dont make clear calls they cant expect either driver to not go for it and it looks like Oscar got a no-#2 clause in his contract so he can race Lando.
