  • Hey fam, some of you have asked me how to wire the adapter into the positive and ground prongs that came disassembled in the CarTrimHome rear lift gate LED light kit. I didn't include this my my original review video but thought it may be helpful to those who may not have experience with how to set it up.

Did you attempt to manually push the lift gate closed to get it to lock? That's all it took for me, if it still doesn't reset, you can then peform the PBD reset from the steering wheel controls if that doesn't work.

@@tblanton3659 Did the rear lift gate move slow and not close all the way or was it non-responsive after the install? Did the LED lights work while installed? Was the power and ground prongs slotted correctly ? Did everything return back to normal after you removed the lights? What trim do you have? Just trying to trouble shoot what could have been the issue for you.

@@tblanton3659 I just installed on my 2023 Hybrid LTD. As you experienced the rear hatch did not close either though the power was there (light turns on).
Pushing the close button on the hatch didn't do anything, didn't even make a sound. I remembered reading your comment before I started the install and thought I too might have the same issue and maybe this might be common for newer model years.
As I walked around to the drivers side I had this dreadful thought, since I manually closed the hatch what would I have to do to be able to open it again if the button from the interior wouldn't open it either....................Pushing the hatch button from the inside it did make the beep sound and hazard lights blinked but the hatch didn't open.
I next turned the vehicle on and pushed the interior hatch button again and it worked after that - all functions are back; kick to open, key fob, and interior button.
I'm not sure if you tried the steps I just did, I hope it works for yours.
