There's next to no factory support in Trans Am anymore. In fact, aside from a Camaro that was being built to use ZL1 road-legal components in TA3 last year, there's no factory involvement at all. The series is too niche for it in the current era. (this is particularly an issue for the TA1 cars, which are a bit too expensive for most prospective entrants)
FormulaFox How can that be. I'm not that familiar with the rules but it appears that TA4 is virtually street legal/off the showroom floor or at the most Improved/Street Touring with intake and exhaust mods and add on race suspensions. Even TA3 seems to be equivalent to maybe between Street Prepared and Production/Prepared. With a relatively inexpensive Pro series like that, even if the factories aren't directly involved one would think the entries, especially TA4, would be off the charts. What is SCCA doing wrong here?
Miatacrosser I really couldn't tell you. I've been told by some that the equivalent club classes just aren't popular in Florida, but I have no idea if that's the case or not.
#20 left RJ López without space to turn
What ever happened to the Robinson racing TA2 cars??
TA4?
There've been no TA4 entries the past couple races.
FormulaFox Seriously? I would've thought TA4 would be an ideal series for Ford, Dodge, and Chevy to promote their latest pony cars. To bad.
