I just got one of these instruments too. I always liked the sound of the saxophone but didn't care for the size of it and didn't want to deal much with the maintanance and setup and all that goes with it
I think this smaller version of it will be more kind of like "plug and play" and will work great for me as I just want to play a few things on it, enjoy the sound and not really go anywhere with it

woah you are like me right now, I play the dizi( chinese bamboo flute ) because I watched the chinese drama called The Untamed hehe LOL. And Now I want to play the xaphoon

You guys were drifting away to team flute and its sad. You should go and get yamaha fife/aulos fife, cheap and so close to metal flute's sound. Even have similar fingering and embouchure ;)

Hey "Maka love". Could You describe me how do You achieve such a nice vibrato ? I have tried doing it by different air pressure but in my opinion i get only sound breaks instead of vibrato ? Shoud I control it instead by pressing the reed ? Thanks regards

Thanks for the answer. In my opinion you get a nice and complete tone from this xaphoon (I heard several clips with xaphoon and there where many where the sound for me was flat and not interesting). You probably passed it thruough a reverb and possibly EQ but it is very nice anyway. Regards
