The most amazing mix to charm the senses. I assume that castle was build to keep the British out - I hope it did well? Evocative music too. I will visit the true Ireland one day before I die (bucket list). The lakes and open areas, remote coast lines it seems to be an almost perfect place to be - and then it rains! I could almost hear the bees a buzzing at the end.

The castle was originally built by the Norman's, Roger, so was built by the English. We had an 800 year occupation so few buildings survive from before that. There is plenty to see in Ireland, especially if you are interested in the countryside. I hope you will come soon and visit me!

What a stunning place. Loved all the fun displays. Is the castle privately owned? Would love to see inside one. Does anyone live there.? Thanks so much for taking us with you once again.

What a beautiful place! But with all those huge ground floor windows, I doubt that it was ever much of a military site. Until I got on the internet, I never realized how wonderful Ireland is.

The castle was originally Norman but I think it has been rebuild more recently. Those huge windows would be great for orchids! :)

It's hard to believe they raised families in those castles.
