    The amount of words that I thought I could pronounce fluently before watching this video has increased. I don't often practice my pronuntiation but after doing the exercises in this video I feel much more confident about it. Thanks! this really helps.

      So glad to hear that. Yes, reading aloud helps. Try to read a short piece of text more than once and find your confidence building as you master all the nuances like rhythm, linking, and intonation.

    I just finished watching a video of yours from 13 years ago. It was really informative, and your explanations were very clear and understandable. Thank you so much; it cleared up some doubts I had for my homework.

    My ideal workweek would be Monday through Friday, and I want to work six hours a day. Monday to Friday or Monday to Thursday it will be great for me. Why? I love having weekends free to do whatever I want.
    Thanks for the free lesson, you're really awesome .❤

    • @Englishwithjennifer
      @Englishwithjennifer  6 місяців тому +3

      I think most people agree that Monday through Friday is a reasonable workweek, but eight hours a day is a bit much. I like your idea of working six hours maximum. I also think having a half day once a week would help people get things done, like going to the dentist or getting an oil change for your car.
      Small correction: You can use the days of the week as your subject, which means you don't need "it" as the subject in your second sentence. Also, you can continue to use "would" because we're speaking hypothetically: Monday to Friday or Monday to Thursday would be great for me.
      Thank you for watching and for sharing your answers to my questions. Enjoy the weekend!

    Reading aloud is problem for those not so fluent in the language. They stutter and stammer, thus lose the flow.
    The way out is that they learn to read ahead of verbalisation to internalise the flow, the words will then flow out naturally..
    Of course, you know all this, but including the "how to" In the discourse will help the laggards in your class..

      I recommend a short set of movies here. Sully is a true story, and it's inspiring.

      There are others with more powerful speeches. I shared some inspiring clips on Patreon last month. Have you see MacFarland, USA? I like that story. I also like Hidden Figures, which I recommended on Patreon.

    Hi,Jennifer.
    I have recently discovered that the punctuation rules in American and British English are different...I am confused whether to learn American or British rules...Are there a lot of differences in the rules?

    • @Englishwithjennifer
      @Englishwithjennifer  5 місяців тому +1

      They aren't that different. Dates and quotation marks can differ in format. I eventually became familiar with both, but American rules feel more natural to me. I go over many patterns in this series.
