Sierra Boggess and Ramin Karimloo take us behind the curtain of The Phantom of The Opera's 25th Anniversary performance at the Royal Albert Hall.
From Phantom of The Opera at the Royal Albert Hall (2011): In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, Cameron Mackintosh produced a unique, spectacular staging of the musical on a scale which had never been seen before. Inspired by the original staging by Hal Prince and Gillian Lynne, this lavish, fully-staged production set in the sumptuous Victorian splendour of London's legendary Royal Albert Hall features a cast and orchestra of over 200, plus some very special guest appearances.

The last time I was this early, Christine was still a chorus girl
Lol!
Gosh, Ramin absolutely KILLED it as the Phantom. The way he portrays the Phantom; his love, his passion, his anger, his sadness, everything. Oh my God. No words just 🤯
,
First phantom I saw back in 2009 and a amazing actor and lovely man.
@@adele2952 same, who was the first phantom you saw? There was something very special about his performance of the role, I hope one day he would return to phantom. His performance along with Gina and Simon were always interesting and different every time. Over the years I got to know him very well especially during LNDs days and I supported him in each role he did.
I agree
@@adele2952 ahh Earl is an amazing actor, he keeps going back to the show and he did the last big tour (he was great but the production was quite bad.)
I love how Sierra says "This is once in a lifetime opportuniy", but she got to play Christine twice for the 25th Anniversry in both London and NY
I think she meant that she plays Christine for the dvd recording.
I like Sierra and all but they should have had a different Christine play one of those, there are so many brilliant portrayals of her out there and those deserve the spotlight too 🙂 maybe if they had Gina Beck for the London concert and have Sierra do the American one...
@@amyw825 yes, plus the concert was screened in cinemas worldwide so that must have been pretty daunting
@@melissam597 Then you should have a chat with ALW as Sierra was his choice. It's kind of hard to go over his head!
@@terrib627 he also picked two untrained singers to do the movie and Steve Harley as the original Phantom 🤷🏼♀️ he’s not perfect
Would love to see three of them performing together again. (Ramin, Sierra, Hadley). 🥰🥰
YES THE HOLY TRINITY
If I had to cast the three of them in another show, it would be Jekyll and Hyde. Here is my casting if Jekyll and Hyde returns to Broadway.
Ramin Karimloo as Dr. Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde
Sierra Boggess as Emma Carew
Eva Noblezada as Lucy Harris
Joshua Henry as Mr. John Utterson
George Hearn as Sir Danvers Carew
Hadley Fraser as Simon Stride
I would love them record a version of LND with these three
Me: wants the full show uploaded
Also me: has a copy of the dvd sitting on my shelf
I watched my dvd version so many times that the dvd became damaged. I NEED THE UPLOAD kkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Do you know where I can buy the dvd?
Edit: nm it’s on Amazon😂
same omg 😂😂
same, i have the full recording on amazon but i need it on youtube LMAO
I bought the full show on UA-cam after it left Netflix but I still prefer watching all these clips because of insightful comments from fans
It is amazing how rushed this was, with only two weeks, but still how amazing it is. That really shows how talented and hard-working these people are.
Agreed it’s totally amazing! Why did they only have two weeks to prepare? I genuinely don’t know the answer and google didn’t help.
It's amazing how it all came together!! But I guess it had helped a lot that, if I'm not mistaken, everyone except Hadley (Raoul) already played their parts on Broadway or the Westend!
@@brookeruskin I don't really know why either, but it might be because they could not get the space before then or something. I am just guessing though.
@@brookeruskin They had plenty of time to plan, the problem lay in the availabilty of the RAH to set up everything and do full technical rehearsals. Apart from the enormous cost, the venue has many events throughout the year.
@@brookeruskin I’m guessing it’s because the RAH is arguably the busiest venue in London so it was likely an availability issue. But everyone involved knew the show inside and out which likely why ALW hand picked just about everyone himself, so a mere two weeks probably wouldn’t phase them, but even if it did, I like to think that it’s why this production was so dynamic from top to bottom.
It's crazy how rushed it was but it really shows how professional everyone working there was, that they were able to get such an amazing production put together in only two weeks.
It was rushed! Doesnt look like it at all!😁
@@sharpaycutie2 I know I have just watched it and cannot believe how quickly they put such a masterpiece together, I am even more in awe now!
Not to be dramatic, but I would die for those three. Ramin, Hadley, and Sierra are such a Golden Trio.
I don’t like Hadley 😕 I find his Raoul very unlikeable
@@melissam597 why?
@@paulitamartinez4255 he was aggressive, shouty, patronising towards Christine and was hardly the most romantic Raoul. Plus his eyeliner was annoying 😂 Raoul should definitely have a protective side but also be sweet and compassionate, and I did not get either of those with Hadley. And as with Christine, they should have cast somebody who actually played the role at Her Majesty’s Theatre.
@@melissam597 you miss have completely changed my mind , I love hadley, but his raoul is bad
@@paulitamartinez4255 yes, Hadley is an excellent performer but it seems he didn’t understand his character here
okay so not to be dramatic or anything but Ramin is LITERALLY an Angel of Music (also, I absolutely adore the 25th Anniversary production! it’s so awesome to see all the preparation and passion that went into this! :D )
I CAN'T STOP WATCHING THESE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA STUFF YOU POST!!!
3:14 kills me 😂 you can tell he was having so much there
WE'RE BEING SHOWERED WITH MORE POTO 25TH CONTENT AND WE'RE LOVING IT
THE SHOW MUST GO ON KNOWS WHAT WE WANT !!!!
And if you had looked you would have found it on UA-cam
Last time I was this early, Christine and Raoul hadn't been warned of the day they did not do all that the Phantom asked of them.
Last time I was early, Piangi was alive
@@Cherrypiem Ah yes, Don Juan. Poor Ubaldo didn't survive the Punjab lasso.
3:07 I bet Ramin enjoyed rehearsing this scene 🤣
I’ve never clicked so fast.
This was the very best production of Phantom of the Opera.25th Anniversary at the Albert Hall. I watch it over and over again. Lovely to see the rehearsals at Ealing which is very close to where I live. My favourite it's spectacular and brilliant.
two phantom videos? within a week? we stan
Who doesn't love the sheer majesty of Masquerade, so cleverly choreographed??? The stage filled with a huge company (I know there are dummies too 😆). My favourite bit is the chandelier, almost blink and you miss it, if you are sitting in a certain place in the stalls it can be frightening but interesting to see and hear the reaction of people who aren't expecting it to whish over their heads!!! Love seeing clips like this, a glimpse of how they prepare, much appreciated. 🎭🎶👍
I was just thinking of their rendition haha then this happened
Nothing could ever beat this cast and production oh my gosh
Was at all 3 performances at the Albert Hall. It was an amazing and special weekend. Feel very lucky to of been there. I can’t wait to see phantom open again, it better open with Maria Bjornson sets and costumes or people will be very angry and upset with Cameron Macintosh.
Were you a part of the concert?!
@@melissam597 sadly not, I am just a big fan of the show and it was to special to miss. You be surprised how the show changed especially the special finale.
Even though I wasn’t there, I got to see the performance via satellite. I would love to have been there, but still was glad I got to see it live.
@@lilsisasu it was amazing what they achieved there streaming it worldwide.
@@Waggers789 that’s cool, although I’m not a huge fan of the casting choices they made I would have liked to have seen it. Spending an evening at the Royal Albert Hall is definitely on the bucket-list! ☺️
Every aspect of this is just pure art!
i could watch this show everyday
This production blew me away. It stirred so many emotions within me. I laughed, I cried,... I was completely enraptured ❤❤
I swear Sierra IS my inspiration she was meant to play for Christine
This was uploaded on my birthday and was one of the best things as Phantom of the opera 25th is my favourite stage production and I watch it nearly every day 😂
YES YES YES YES YES THANK YOU.
am i seeing this right!?
WOW. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS !!

Ramin Karimloo é perfeito!
Thank you for sharing!!! It s been 1 year and 3 months since I saw the show live in London, for my birthday :)
I was there on opening night, on Saturday, and you wouldn’t have known how rushed it was if they hadn’t told us in the speeches.
I LOVE PHANTOM AND I AM COMPLETELY OBSESSED WITH RAMIN AND SIERRA.
Still can't get enough of The Phantom of The Opera's 25th Anniversary performance, please post more backstage videos.
If you search UA-cam you will find more.
@@brianaustin5467 I know, but it's good to see them all on this channel. Watching them here and on the official Phantom of the Opera channel shows our support for the theatre industry at this uncertain time.
@@LittleLauraBug And how do you differentiate between "those showing their support" and those looking for free vids?
@@brianaustin5467 You can't compare those two things as people can search for theatre content that brings them joy and watch it from any channel for free, there is nothing wrong with that.
I was just thinking that the more views and likes this type of content gets here, the more this brilliant channel is recommended to others.
@@LittleLauraBug You mean that Universal should play the agorithm, which is what they have been doing for weeks by feeding POTO material when the viewing figures drop. The problem lies in that they do not own most of the stuff on UA-cam so they cannot use it.
I CAME AS SOON AS I HEARD!
All the way from London? Dang.
I'm not here for you. I know my sister like my own mind.
@@ramandeepnijjar8281 huh?
@@queenmeowmeow0983 If I am right they were reciting lyrics to the Hamilton song "The Reynolds Pamphlet," and I was just saying the next line.
Sierra is just so adorable!!❤❤
I do like The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall film from 2011 from Universal Pictures and it's one of my favourites
This is Awesome love behind the scenes!
Oh the chandelier says Maria on it, my heart
What's the correlation?
@@justanotherhuman7422 she was the original designer for the show, the mask is partially modelled on her face too
@@thessie Wow, that's cool! Thanks for telling me!
How is Ramin so good looking even WITH the phantom makeup,,, this man-

WHAT?! Practice? What no way, I just assumed everybody naturally did this all flawlesly on stage each night.....

I love this cast I LOVE THIS CAST!!!!!!!
Thank you for uploading 😌
смотрел и смотрю,но самое интересное это как все работали над этим шедевром.Всем Бравоооо!!!!!!!!
i miss going to theaters and cinemas
This clip has been on UA-cam for years. I cannot understand the hysteria.
@Anjelica Snorcket That is my assumption too. It is just sad that they have not taken the initiative to search UA-cam where they will find plenty of stuff, rather than wait for this channel to feed them a few breadcrumbs in order to keep the visitor count up. I suppose we can expect regular stunts like this during the hiatus.
@Anjelica Snorcket The BBC are running a show on the radio next week and in February it will be on television & BBC iPlayer (I don't know if that is available in the US).

Omg did I just heard my Sarah singing there. So it was pre recorded not live! Ahhhh
The high notes are always prerecorded
So from what I can gather from the comments, she was cristine on stage only twice?! Criminal!

No she was Christine in Las Vegas 2006-2007, here in 2011, and on Broadway in 2013 and 2014 for limited runs.
She also originated Christine in Love Never Dies, the infamous sequel
