- The Bee Gees were a pop music group formed in 1958. Their lineup consisted of brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. The trio were especially successful as a popular music act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later as prominent performers of the disco music era in the mid-to-late 1970s. The group sang recognisable three-part tight harmonies; Robin's clear vibrato lead vocals were a hallmark of their earlier hits, while Barry's R&B falsetto became their signature sound during the mid-to-late 1970s and 1980s. The Bee Gees wrote all of their own hits, as well as writing and producing several major hits for other artists.
The Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records worldwide, making them one of the world's best-selling artists of all time. The Bee Gees are the third most successful band in Billboard charts history after The Beatles and The Supremes.
This Toppop recording was made in a London studio and first broadcast on Toppop on 10 January 1972.

Agree with you completely. All their voices had a similar tone, being brothers; all were distinctive; and they were meant to work together. Some people were just born to change the world.
What kills me is that Barry doesn’t even know what they’ve done. He needs to know. He’s literally surprised that people still remember their songs, because they were so long ago. I want to tell him what he and they mean to me, and the world. He needs to know.

Can you imagine having this natural talent at the age of six? Their mom said that she heard music coming from their room and thought it was the radio. The boys, 9, 6 and 6 were harmonizing beautifully. And their talent grew from there.

My favorite lineup was the classic 5 piece 1967-68 with Colin and Vince especially, but Geoff brought a lot to the band and is fun to watch. This is Robin at the peak of his powers, and looks. He had filled out a bit and had some fine dental work. Barry welcomed Robin back, knowing the Bee Gees were three brothers and any less wasn't the right mix of voices. Robin's songs and voice made me a fan, but all three had talent galore, and Mo was an outstanding bassist, who could also play just about any instrument you put in his hands.

I love drummer style, altough is a ballad he dances while he's playing.
His name is Geoff Bridgford. He played on several albums of the Bee Gees from around 1971, to 1974 ( I believe).
He's a grossly underrated drummer. His playing was innovative for that time. He made a 4 piece kit sound amazing!

They went through a down period after reconciling in the early 70's until "Jive Talking". They recorded some great songs during that time frame. Too bad they weren't hits. At least we have the opportunity to see/hear them so many years later. Their music never gets old.

@@kthorIt drives me nuts, these Robin fans, I’ve got to be honest. They act like Robin’s the only one in the room ever. I don’t see how they can miss Barry’s magnificent voice, but they do, time and again. It’s like he’s not even singing. In fact, some complain that he’s even there at all. I guess they can’t give him anything because he already has so much, and they can’t be that generous.
I guess they will do themselves, and I’ll go on thoroughly falling in love and being blown away by Barry’s amazing voice every time.
