The implementation of the detention policy alongside competency-based education (CBE) requires a balanced approach to ensure effective outcomes. While the policy aims to enhance learning standards, teachers must focus on fostering conceptual understanding rather than emphasizing exam-based achievements. CBE emphasizes skills mastery and personalized learning, which align with holistic development. Teachers should avoid panicking over outcomes or pressuring students with unrealistic targets, as this may lead to stress and hinder the joy of learning. Instead, remedial strategies, continuous assessments, and engaging pedagogy can help achieve desired results. The key lies in creating a supportive, learner-centric environment that nurtures growth.
Scrapping the no-detention policy could help improve academic accountability, but it should be balanced with support systems to reduce stress and promote holistic learning.
TN people rejected those.... As TN government did.. This rule is not for our state as we see education as a education and not a race for running horses or memorising abulity
What change there. Every school passes every child n reexam also name sake they conduct. End results is passing only. Children a d educational policies 😢
That good kids don't study till 10 then they fail becz 10 level become very high they drop out this fear is good... At least kids will study... Big welcome move
That's why most students can't do well in their studies..simply promoting without them understanding will be a problem in their future.. Nowadays students are taking studies very lightly because they know the rule that is to "not detained them". Such a dumb decision!!
This policy will be totally failure, because, no govt teachers will fail the student, because they have to work hard again on those student in holidays, So most of them will pass the student to avoid this extra workload.
allow the child to learn don't fail
Welcome move...
I WILL PROTEST
Implementing this policy is very good actually. Every child now can another chance and not lose a year unnecessarily
It should be implemented in all State Government schools or SG undertaken schools as well

The no detention policy, instead of helping children in rural area has ruther put a vail on the inefficiencies and reluctant nature of teachers.
To reduce stress for teachers in class 9.

One language compulsory of the parents choice? Having b.ed teachers who cannot translate that into imparting understanding of syllabus?
