Do you two have jobs? Yes! We both have full time careers. Brian is a Software Engineer and Kerry is a Graphic Designer.
What are those black pouches around your neck? We use the lanyards to carry some camera equipment, but many cruisers like to wear lanyards to hold their room key card.
What camera do you use? We typically use the DJI Pocket II, however, when we are in the water we use the Go Pro Hero 9, and in Alaska we occasionally used the Nikon P1000 for wildlife shots. What is a GUSS? GUSS is our name for a Towel Animal! It is a childhood memory for Brian that has lived on for years. You can see the home video moment where GUSS was born in Adventure of the Seas Day 6 (We Made the News) and Allure of the Seas Day 3 (Sea Day).
Is that one thing you said serious? Almost certainly not. If you’re new to the channel, we have really dry, sarcastic senses of humor. So if you’re questioning if it’s sarcasm - it probably is.
How do I ask a dinner time question? Leave a comment on any video and let us know it’s supposed to be answered at dinner time. We’re always looking for new questions (even if the next cruise we can answer it on is a long long way out).
Is it really pronounced CoCo “Key”? Royal Caribbean has said itself that it is pronounced “Key” in a FAQ of their own here: creative.rccl..... To each their own on this pronunciation!
When and how did you meet? We met in February of 2020 via a dating app. We answer this question in more detail in our Independence of the Seas Day 2 (Swimming with Pigs) video.

First time I've seen y'all visit somewhere I've been. Went to San Juan with my wife back in '17 for my 40th.
One night we went it a "secret" bar. To access it you had to go into a bar and than walk behind the counter near the bartender and there was a hidden door that you walked through to get to the "secret" bar. Like a speak easy.

You’ve got to do a sailing out of San Juan. It’s so special to spend a few days there in an Airbnb in the old city prior. Go to the rainforest. Explore more. It’s such a fun place!!!!
My friend had a sailing from there and loved SJ. She also loved rhapsody of the seas and she loves big ships. Not that had anything to do w what you wrote lolol 😂

In case you don't want to walk because it is hot, there is a free trolley that goes all over the city.

One thing to consider in regards to messages that might be seen as "talking down" - Cruise ships are truly international venues with people from all over the world and for many English is a second language.

Great video guys, my wife and I love Old San Juan we went in October had a great time but it was humid and rainy.
My honest opinion, the sides don’t look too short. I think the haircut came out really well.
We really like San Juan. It's a fun port, but everything is uphill, Lol. And it's always HOT! Kerry, your hair is getting so long. Looks nice!

How exciting to see Puerto Rico. Curious, did I miss the type of suite you have? Cool Iquana's- they eat lettuce, no meat. They don't bite, but they flip their tail quickly to hit dangerous attackers. You all did an awesome job of walking in such Humidity. Nice Mugs! As new content creators we appreciate the walk around. 13 years since I was there. Should be there this November. Boarding a celebrity cruise there so we have 1 full day in San Juan before we go. Really liked San Juan last time
Love Puerto Rico! San Juan is a great spot to explore your first time and the forts are my favorite (and fun fact the wizards of waverly place movie was filmed there)! Next time check out the el yunque rain forest.

You guys need to fly into PR and enjoy going around the island. There is so much to see and eat. Eating here is the number one thing to do here. You can never go wrong here when you eat. Beaches are super amazing. Don't come to the island until May. There's plenty of hurricanes near the island. I normally come to PR around May. I love the rain in PR. Even if you get wet, it's feels amazing with humidity. Enjoy PR and come back when you can. Love ya!!!

I enjoyed wondering around Old San Juan. I was also surprised by the elevation changes. It is still walkable, but more strenuous than I anticipated.

Debbie was born there. Their take on the food was interesting because Debbie was looking for conch salad made in San Juan! They found some great food and also some awful food from the food trucks! Corine and I were to travel to San Juan on the MSC Magnifica. We are instead sailing to Key West to celebrate our 50th Wedding Honeymoon because Anniversary sounds not romantic. Love you both. Watching now - how did you find San Juan as I am considering a cruise that leaves from there?
You know what the Internet is like sometimes it makes you think it's dangerous.
As someone from the uk who cruises the Carribean, my vote goes to a January/February cruise.
It's further out from the hurricane season, before the seaweed issues in spring, avoids peak holiday seasons which are more expensive and have lots of kids, and you escape the coldest uk weather. Only drawback is the potential for higher winds and seas but it's far from a deal breaker and weather can be hit or miss anytime of year. I've cruised this time of year in beautiful highs. Even in choppy seas you won't notice it much on the larger stable ships.
Going to San Juan a couple times next year. First time, we missed it after the restart as they weren't accepting ships due to testing requirements. Definitely got some ideas on what to do, thanks. Go Royal 😄

Next time you are in San Juan take one of those bus tours that they sell at the port. You can see all the major tourist spots in San Juan in an air conditioned bus. After the tour, we would just wander the streets or go back to any of the places we liked best from the bus tour. PS I like the shorter hair.

I'm so excited to visit San Juan next month on a Celebrity cruise! The only downside is that I'm *almost positive* Celebrity docks at the pier away from Old San Juan, so everything won't be as easily walkable for us.
Hi! If the cruise just stops at San Juan you will be at the Old San Juan Port, but if your ships sails out of San Juan then you will be at the Panamerican Pier which is not that close to Old San Juan!

Why are the towel animals called "Gus"?
Brian & Kerry show this in a couple of videos. When Brian was young and on a family cruise, his father was reading a piece of paper that had their stateroom number on it. He mistakingly thought it said "GUSS" Brian's sister caught this on video and it stuck. My wife and I always call them Guss's now....

$60 haircut?! I guess since it’s in a ship gm that’s fine, but I get grumpy if I have to pay more than $18. Back in college, there was a sketchy place near campus that would give you a mediocre haircut for only $7!

I'm glad you liked Old San Juan. However, you committed a sin, possibly due to ignorance. You were in San Juan and did not go to Barrachina or the Caribe Hilton Hotel, where both claim that the world famous cocktail, the Piña Colada, was created in their places. It is said that the purpose of having so many cats in San Juan is to avoid a plague, since it is the main tourist place in Puerto Rico. Lastly, if you have the opportunity to come again and stay, explore beyond San Juan. Puerto Rico is small, but it has so much more to offer you! You will not regret it!!
FYI - Carnival's policies do not allow pets onboard. Only certified service animals are allowed.
Dinner Time Question: Have either of you ever needed to visit medical/EMS on a cruise? If so, what was it like?

Carnival is scary, I would feel so anxious I could not go on a cruise with people that don’t know how to be mindful and respectful of others

Unfortunately, because carnival is the Walmart of cruise lines it has attracted a lot of new cruisers who don’t know how to behave in public. That is why you have public service announcements advising people how to dress and behave.
Not gonna lie I was a little nervous when Bryan went in for a haircut on a ship that has to plead with guest to put a shirt on for dinner lol but it looks great!
Listening to Kerry doing her commentary is absolutely adorable. And Brian coming back from the barber saying “Carnival ruined my hair” too funny 😅
