Steph's frustration in the cheesecake round was so funny to me.
I dont know if its a UK thing, but in my experience, cheesecake is always non-bake unless they specify 'baked cheesecake'.
At restsurants, home recipes etc,
Cheesecake = non bake,
Baked cheesecake = baked.
Plus her frustration over no food processor, or stand mixer etc. I adore cheesecake and have it for every birthday, usually handmade, and ive never used them. You smash the biscuits in a bag with a rolling pin, and whip the cream with a whisk or fork
Yeah no our ancestors who invented cheesecake had simple ovens and hand tools. Though personally I always make a oven baked cheesecake
Kimberly has lived and worked in the UK for years, hence why she speaks properly and says fillet 😊😆
The salt crust thing is a method where you encase meat in salt and then bake it, helps absorbs flavour well and also the salt holds heat so helps it cook faster.

A celeriac is sometimes called a knob celery; it's just a type of celery with a nice bulb.
And while Kimberly is American, she's been living in the UK for 13 years and is also apparently of English and Scottish descent.

For Stephanie’s confusion, Kimberly even though she’s American was saying British versions of things because she’s lived here for over 10 years now married with kids. Ashley from the PCD also has lived here for about 10 years too
Damn its always that one comment where that person knows their whole life story while new viewers don't. This goes to show you may have lots of people watching you but not everyone actually knows you.

Filet is French and is how u lot are used to saying it, even though a lot of English words are definitely French, us Brits say fillet as in a fillet of beef

Regarding the cheesecake, here in New Zealand they’re all non bake unless it specifically says “baked cheesecake”. I make a lot of cheesecakes and they’re all non-bake.
Do Americans usually have baked cheesecakes? That’s the only reason I can see why Steph had the (hilarious) reaction she did lol.
We must! I just googled fact checked myself haha and every recipe came back as requiring baking WITH eggs 😂😂 even the one on Philadelphia cream cheese’s website (our brand name cream cheese) requires baking. Such a bizarre difference!! I wonder if it’s because in America cheesecake is synonymous with New York style cheesecake.

At least in Sweden and finland ( I would assume Europe at large tho) it is more common to have non-baked cheese cakes than baked, and at least in Sweden and Finland most ppl dislike a baked cheese cake

Celeriac is a root veg similar to rutabaga in size and texture and a similar taste to celery. Peeling the bottom part of the asparagus stalk makes it more tender but they normally only do it in restaurants

It is crazy how terrible all of them are in the kitchen with the exception of Ethan who is alright. I feel like anyone would be able to make the first dish if you just gave them the ingredients, it's a very simple one
Edit: In Australia we don't do thanksgiving, but we only just started doing black friday. Don't even know what it is but everything goes on sale so I like it

there are other types of cheesecakes then american ones. i have never seen a baked cheesecake in sweden
2:11:00 actually theyre not inconsistent they gave the omelette a 4 for how it looked they gave it an 8 for taste.
This time it was cheesecake and if they asked for a cheese cake its not a slice so for LOOKS it should be a 4 like the omelette if it tasted good then it deserves a high score for that. But the look suffers when you dont make what they ask not the taste .
If the omelette looked good I'm pretty sure they would have still given it a 4 otherwise we wouldn't have a cook off everyone would have just said wtf.
I know this is months ago but thank god, You adressed that. They were being kind of harsh on Deji and Jj on this. it's not too seriously but It still annoyed me a little bit

Half a stick of butter is better then mash potato using so much butter...
Try 5 potato 1or 2 shorts of milk and a big spoon of butter and salt (sometimes we use fat and a tipe of nut).. Try doing video's trying only european food.. Im from 🇸🇮 Slovenia..

0 means no presentation at all and they said at the end that 4 points for the taste of Harry and Vik's cheesecake is actually too good to give for them but it's just pity score
Please I do love your reactions to almost all your videos but at your comments on some things turn to be a bit negative. Your preference or way of doing something might be different to others. So in humbly tone don't make it sound or look like what's been presented is bad. Good vid tho.

That's why it's called "reaction" so if you don't get something, just go with the flow that's all. I've been a big follower of the channel and its something I would humbly want them to work on it.

A chef here.. you haven't heard of so many vegetables.. you've only seen sticks of butter and just so you know. In France we pronounce it 'Fill-it' too like they do. What do they feed you over the pond?? Actually don't worry we've seen and also salt baking is a way to season your food while giving it a more depth of flavour like curing

i mean yes cooking isn't long but when you are under preassure and is on a timer than yha it can get kinda of crazy. I think what people should have done at least when they make video like these is teach people who at least don't know how to cook that way at least things goes smoothly. As i see lots of youtubers who don't know how to cook make cooking videos and it was to the point they just goofed off and order urber eats. Like cooking should be a key factor in our race if people don't know how to cook things would go wrong if urber and fast foods restaurants are no more.
