Tony, you can get little repair rings to protect the page holes from tearing at any stationary supply store. They’ve had them for years. They are standard equipment for 3 ring binders. They look like little flat 1/2 inch donuts 🍩. They are sticky on one side to glue to pages. Put them around the hole to prevent tearing.
Haven't encountered, but might try to parlay. Be a tough fight. You can get like 500 of those ring hole protector stickers for $3. Slap one on each side of the page and stick 'em back in the binder! Great video! Thanks!
Thanks for the video! I didn't run a lot of 2E so I never had the chance to use this one. I guess this is a bit of a precursor for 3E where templates allowed for all sorts of vampires to exist. I enjoyed using many of the templates in 3E so the appeal of this works for me. These Dwarf Vampires seem to be able to ignore the deck's gravity plating. 😉
Try using command word sprint when they are facing a wall . The will hit the wall hard very hard. Just make sure the have about maybe 100 feet to get to max speed. A human can sprint an avg 18 to 20 mph. Adjust for encombrance.
When they tear, take a little piece of scotch tape and wrap it around the tear to double side it and they are reinforced and as good as new ^~^ That's what I do. You don't even see the tape, if you get it just right. Packing tape really works well, if your hardbacked books start getting bumped up on the spine too. I wouldn't use that on the pages though. It's too thick.
Classic Monster Manual ability drain: Shadows drain Strength, Thought-Eaters drain Intelligence, Lamias drain Wisdom, Night Hags drain Constitution, Quasits drain Dexterity, and Mummies drain Charisma. So, they had all of the potential ability points covered when it came to losing ability scores.
I have the same complaint with the monstrous companion as well that's why I put all the sheets and sheet protectors. Cost a little bit of money but it was worth it
@@page121tabletoproleplaying4 I know there was a drow lich in one of the stories published, but all the vampires I ever threw at the pc's were human. But next time.........
I guess this whole loose leaf format was a fad at the time. DC and Marvel dis theor character profiles that way too and the DC ones paired with their RPG as well. I have them.
Ok, so forgetting the fact that only humans are supposed to be turned into vampires, there are a few things that I disagree with. Magic items: most but not all should require a living being to make them function. Such as the Boots of Speed, gloves and even a robe of eyes. Things like wands that need a command word to function might still work but I argue that they only work when held by a living being. Otherwise I could say the command word and it would fire off every time. Your chimney theory is slightly flawed as it is not always going to be stone but a mix of clay bricks or stones with clay or mud mortar and not pure stone. Otherwise it could meld into even mud or sand. And lastly, undead monsters thrive on the energies of the living. So the dwarven vampire would not want to use weapons. It would instead "feed" off of the life force of the living by touching/striking them with their bare hands or a bite.
Happy Halloween!

Another great video. Have Not encountered this monster in actual play so far.
I wish we could play together. You seem like a great dungeon master

In 45 years of play, this has never occurred to me, and that's saying something
Dwarf vampires are wasted on long distances. They are natural sprinters.
i only play 5e but oh boy, one of my players has a dwarf villain in his backstory an i'm hombrewing this guy 3 editions into the future
Never thought of a demi human vampire before.
I looked at the elf vampire a few weeks abo. Here's the link ua-cam.com/video/T-bbG1RCCO0/v-deo.html

Where do you live? I live in NYC and I’d love to play a game with you sometime!
I'm just south of Chicago.
Oh yeah, my players are going to hate these.
Earth Elemental using a spike through the heart???
Let me know when you get to the word badger
