I bought the Condor blade as a blank from amazon. Made my own walnut scales, then made my own custom leather sheath for it. I have to admit though I do like some of my other blades with a Scandi grind. That LT Wright looks really nice.
The kephart design is a great design for the woodsman or bushcrafter. Both companies do a great job on their versions. My cousin who smiths blades made me a kephart replica. 1095 steel and oak scales. It truly is a great tool to keep with you. Always great to stop by the channel and see ya brother! Thanks for sharing with us.
I see your in trouble with the Mrs again and sent to the wood shed😂. Thanks for comparing these two knives Wade. Hope you and your family have a good week ahead my friend. 🇺🇲🌲🔥🔪
Lars Falt Bushcraft Knife by Casstrom is the one I am drooling over these days. Looks to be the ultimate bushcrafter belt knife. So nice. And not horribly expensive as so many knives are now.
I picked up the Lars Fält knife when Casström started offering it with the Sleipnir steel. My family comes from northern Sweden, so to me this seems like a refinement of the kind of knife that everybody has and grew up with, in rural Sweden and Norway. It is a great knife - even better than I expected.
Nice vid again Wade, although I don’t have a Kephart design knife I do like the design a lot, the Condor has some kind of the old days rustic feeling to show, almost like it was used for a long time already, certainly nice because of that, I do like the LT for a long time also, looks to be a great use for sure, have a great weekend Wade👌🏻
👍 Good video. Nice comparison. LT Wright makes great knives, no matter the style. Condor knives are well done for relatively inexpensive production knives. I have owned knives from both these manufacturers and was very pleased with my purchases. As far as Kephart style knives go the reproduction by KaBar of Ethan Becker’s original Kephart knife is exceptionally well done, owned it and liked it. Having said all that, my favorite Kephart style knife is the “original Kephart” from Lucas Forge. Lucas makes expertly done knives at a very reasonable price.
Two interesting takes on a classic design. Although not true to the original, I think I prefer the LT Wright version. Just received my FM .6l kettle, Looking forward to testing it out. Thanks for sharing Wade
Great look at both knives. I’ve always admired the Larry Roberts Genesis. My one LT Wright knife is a GNS and I wish it had the thumb scallops. My only Kephart is a PKS Knives Kephart from the SRO shop. It’s a good lil wood processor with a Scandi grind. Have a great weekend Wade!
It looks like that Condor would do everything thing that you need, but the ergonomics, balance and edge retention on an LT Wright knife are top notch, and worth every penny over the long term.
I've been using the LT Genesis for 8 years. I absolutely beat the crap out of it, especially for batoning and it's never given me any issues. My curls suck compared to yours though haha. Thanks for sharing !
I think you need to do an ASMR video of processing wood with a knife. Just an hour of splitting wood and making feather sticks etc. with no talking. People don't know they need it until they see it. 😎
@@Woodswalker1965 I am only half kidding, you have the right look with the leather gloves and wood pile/shelter etc. I don't generally watch that pure ASMR stuff but there are many many people who do.
I would like to try out the Lt wright one day. I do have the condor. 👍🏻 I love my mora Garberg, I have more expensive knives but tend to always have this with me, I have the Chris Caine Evolution by battle horse knives which is fantastic very reminiscent of a nessmuk.

I bet that Condor blade you customized is pretty sweet👌

Hey Kerry all the best brother. I’m still rocking my @dirondackamerican gloves👌
@@Woodswalker1965 oh I seen that Wade! Glad their treating ya well brother 💪
That's a great side by side comparison. As an LT addict and a thrifting enthusiast, I very much appreciate both. Now about that sweet new kettle.....
Don’t get started on kettles my friend, even more addictive! Lol

Haha I’ve been a very bad boy!😂😂

I’ve had my eye on that for a few years now myself👍

Hey brother, thanks for watching. I think you nailed it with the Condor. Old timey feeling for sure.🤙

Oh ya, that knife has been around the block once or twice I’m sure👊
Great discussion my friend….
So glad to see you doing well…👍🏻
Definitely a couple of awesome knives for sure…‼️
Stay Strong 💪🏻 Buddy …‼️
Thanks for watching, take care my friend!👍🔪
That LT Wright looks like a keeper...
I believe so, at least for the immediate future.🤙

You’re the second person to tell me that. I guess I should start listening to people more. Take care Kevin and thanks for stopping by🤙

Thanks for that video Wade. Did both hold their edge well after all that work?
I would say both of them deserved a good stropping afterwards but no major rolls or chips. Take care bro👊
I wonder which one Kephart would have carried...
Hmmmmmm🤷🏻♂️. I’m sure he would prefer a thinner blade for skinning animals and cleaning fish.
@@shixson957 I think he probably would have stuck with his own knife, they knew how to make things that lasted in those days.,😁👍🏻
Is there a website or link as to where these knives can be purchased???
Sure. Just google LT Wright Genesis and Condor Kephart and a source to purchase them will come up for your area. Thanks for watching my friend.
@@Woodswalker1965 Thank you! Much appreciated
You ought to compare the condor to the Becker kabar kephart.
